Chapter 4:
Rakkuhōshiten
Years had passed since Ariana's arrival, and Yorian was no longer lonely. Although she now had the same vast knowledge as him, she was, in his opinion, very annoying.
"This is... a dick, right?" Ariana asked, pointing with an innocent, yet brazen, curiosity.
Yorian thought to himself, I regret giving her all my knowledge. Maybe I uploaded too much data. I need to make sure she doesn’t lose her sense of self. Her questions, while sometimes vulgar, were clearly part of her process of exploring herself and the world with the vast, newly acquired knowledge.
Even though she's annoying and vulgar, she still makes me better than before when I was lonely without friends, a loneliness that haunted me in my dark past, he mused.
"This is a my pussy, right?" Ariana said, as if presenting a new discovery.
"Damn it, stop flashing your genitals in my face!" Yorian said angrily.
"What's a Damn?" Ariana asked, tilting her head, genuinely puzzled.
I should've not given her everything, Yorian thought to himself, a wry smile forming despite his exasperation. "It's better if you don't know. You'd better play strategic war with me," he replied to Ariana, deftly changing the subject.
"How does it work?" Ariana asked, her eyes sparkling with interest.
"Just follow along," Yorian said.
"Alright," Ariana replied.
She was very clever when playing the strategic war game he had created, which he called "Perasta." She was so skilled that she even gave him some difficulty in defeating her. Though the outcome remained evenly matched, it was an exciting experience he had never had in his life before, except when he was a toddler. They played and talked while playing. Yorian felt a sense of purpose he hadn't known before.
"That's enough for today," he said finally, a genuine smile on his face. "I'm going to register at Yuntanglian Academy. It's time to build a foundation here."
"Oh, cool! I'm coming with you!" Ariana said, her eyes sparkling.
"You are?" Yorian asked, a brow raised in surprise.
"Of course! We're a team, right?" she replied, a mischievous grin spreading across her face. "Besides, I want to see what this world's education is like. My knowledge comes from a memory upload, not real experience."
A mix of fondness and exasperation came over Yorian. "Alright, fine. What's a few more tuqs for my cute little sister?"
He descended to Aelonisova and went to the academy above the skies of the capital city, Quezareth. He paid the tuition fee for himself.
"Your tuition is paid for six years," the staff said. "Is that all?"
"I need to pay for her too," Yorian replied, gesturing to Ariana.
The staff member's eyes widened. "For her? Alright, the total tuition is another 12 million tuqs. Would you like to pay now or put it on debt?"
"I'll pay now," Yorian said simply, and a mountain of tuqs materialized before the staff member, causing him to instinctively take a step back.
Damn it, whose kid is this, to be able to bring this much money? Which noble is he? the staff member thought, his mind racing. He was used to seeing wealth, but this was a different level, especially coming from a child.
Yorian smiled to himself as he saw the staff member gape in shock. He knew that 12 million tuqs, which was equivalent to six tons of gold, was an insane amount on Earth. But here, with mineral resources so abundant, it was simply a "reasonable price" for access to the most expensive education in the world. What truly stunned the staff was not the amount itself, but how he had brought a physical mass weighing six tons right in front of them. Realization dawned on him. This wasn't just a rich noble's kid; this was a being with power he couldn't comprehend.
With a trembling hand, the staff member pushed the mountain of coins aside to reveal his desk again. He then looked at Yorian, his voice now filled with an unprecedented reverence. "Alright, here's the registration form. Return it by the 10th of Sovanis 1239, and include your personal details," he said.
"Okay, thanks," Yorian replied.
After a few days, he submitted the registration form. The staff seemed surprised that a child, only four years old, was enrolling.
"Okay, here are your uniforms," the staff said, handing them over with a curious glance.
Finally, they managed to enter Yuntanglian Academy, but they still had to take a student proficiency test. Yorian was quite surprised because he had not prepared for this specific test. However, during his previous visits to Aelonisova to learn more about this world and visit his foster parents, he had made extensive use of the local libraries. With his Quantum Aetheric Enervation Technique (QAET), he had rapidly scanned and absorbed the entire contents of their vast collections, processing every text into his exabyte-capacity brain. This deep understanding of Aelonisova's history, sciences, and magical theories meant he was more than ready. The required score was 70 or above.
Yorian found it almost insulting to solve the 300 questions within three hours. It was laughably easy.
"Sis, what is this? It's so hard," Ariana said, feeling dizzy just looking at the questions.
"Shut up and stop being stubborn," Yorian replied, a slight smirk playing on his lips.
He barely needed to glance at the questions. His mind, a processing marvel, instantly called up the relevant information from the absorbed texts. He completed all 300 questions in less than ten minutes, stunning all the other students around him. Whispers erupted.
"There must be cheating going on," another student said, pointing.
"Yeah, how could he finish so quickly? He's just a kid!" another said, disbelief plain in their voice.
The proctor, a stern-faced mage, approached, eyeing Yorian suspiciously. He merely offered a calm, innocent smile.
Next was the logic test, with less than 500 questions, which should have been more challenging. But because he already knew every logical fallacy and every mathematical theorem, he managed to solve them with ridiculous ease, finishing them in just one minute this time. The murmurs grew louder, tinged with envy and confusion.
"It's not right," one student said, shaking his head.
"Yeah, there's no way he could finish so quickly!" another exclaimed, frustration mounting.
The next test made other students dizzy: it included over 1000 questions on Physics, Mathematics, and Technology. However, because his mind had absorbed and analyzed all known scientific principles, he could easily answer them within five minutes, his pen flying across the paper. The classroom buzzed with outrage.
"He must be bluffing."
"Yeah, there's no way he could finish that quickly."
"I bet he still got a low score."
said the students, their faces a mixture of anger and disbelief. The fact that a four-year-old was doing this only amplified their frustration.
After waiting for quite a while, the results were finally announced. On the grand projection screen, beside his name, Yorian (Age 4), glowed an astonishing S++ for every single subject. An unprecedented score. A hush fell over the hall, then erupted into a roar of shock. Such a score had never been achieved by anyone in the academy's history, let alone a mere child. Students clamored to find him, desperate to know how he had achieved such a feat, but he easily escaped from them, slipping away to the library to absorb all the important data he had missed.
Yorian then left the library and saw many students still asking how he got S++. Even a thug approached him, a sneer on his face. He knew Yorian was smart and intended to exploit it."Hey, kid. I heard you're a genius. If you don't want to end up in the infirmary, you'll be 'helping' me with all my assignments from now on," the thug threatened, trying to puff out his chest.
"Are you sure you can kill me? You're just a stupid thug trying to cheat your way through," Yorian mocked, with a dismissive wave of his hand.
"Hey, you stupid junior, I'm serious, idiot," the thug snarled, his face reddening.
"Fine, let's have a 1Vs1," Yorian said, his voice dangerously calm.
"Who's afraid of you, you little brat?" the thug said, stepping forward.
Finally, they went to the academy's field and prepared to fight, but suddenly, Ariana came and asked him not to fight, her eyes welling up.
"Brother, please, I still want to be with you," Ariana pleaded, tears streaming down her face.
"Don't worry; I'll definitely win," Yorian said, patting her head.
Suddenly, the senior thug attacked him with a burst of flame magic. A massive fire orb flew towards Yorian, but he merely extended his hand, and the orb, instead of impacting, was effortlessly deflected far from the academy grounds, dissipating into harmless embers. "Is that all you've got, you idiots?" he taunted, a challenge in his voice.
"Stop acting tough, you moron," the thug growled, clearly enraged.
He then unleashed a meteor shower attack, causing the sky to redden instantly as fiery rocks plummeted towards them.
"Such attacks are easy to handle," Yorian remarked, utterly unfazed.
He immediately utilized the weak nuclear attribute technique, "atomic annihilation," projecting a field that caused the meteor particles to explode into pure radiation before they even reached him. He then absorbed the residual energy from the explosions and countered with "Relative Jet," emitting a blinding, concentrated beam of light. Everyone in the vicinity turned away, shielding their eyes. The intense, additional radiation from "Relative Jet" began disintegrating the thug's body, not into dust, but into nothingness. He saw nothing but an overwhelming white light, then his body felt like it was consumed by an unbearable burning agony, excruciating pain at every point, until he completely disintegrated into ash. Seeing him vanish, Yorian ceased the attack, meticulously restoring him to his previous state, albeit now shivering uncontrollably on the ground.
A collective gasp rippled through the stunned onlookers. Whispers turned into awestruck murmurs. "He... he brought him back?!" "That's impossible! He was gone!" The feat of resurrecting someone who had been utterly annihilated, even if their soul remained, was unheard of, a power that defied all known magical and scientific principles in Aelonisova. Their faces, once filled with fear and anger, were now contorted in pure, unadulterated shock and a dawning sense of reverence.
"I... I'm sorry..." the thug stammered, fear blanching his face, his eyes wide with a terror that transcended mere physical pain.
"That's it? Boring. Go away now. Now, who wants to fight me?" Yorian asked, looking around at the stunned crowd, a hint of challenge in his voice.
The students, still reeling from the display, hesitated. One brave, or perhaps foolish, soul finally spoke up. "How... how did you do that? How did you get those scores? What's your secret?"
Yorian smirked. "My secret? It's a technique I call '11 Yang Energy and 1 Yin Energy.' It's a method of learning and mastery (inspired by the learning techniques of best friends and/or the second author)."
He paused, letting their curiosity build. "The '11 Yang' stages are about active engagement:
Read (读): Absorb the information.
Understand and Visualize (理解和可视化): Don't just read; grasp the concepts and form mental images.
Analyze (分析): Break down the information into its core components.
Evaluate (评价): Critically assess the information, its validity, and its implications.
Question (质疑): Challenge assumptions, seek deeper meaning, and identify gaps.
Summarize (总结): Condense the core ideas into your own words.
Reread (重读): Revisit the material, reinforcing understanding.
Memorize (记住): Commit key facts and concepts to long-term memory.
Apply (申请): Use the knowledge in practical scenarios.
Teach (教): Explain the concepts to others; this solidifies your own understanding.
Create (创造): Use the knowledge to innovate, develop new ideas, or build something new."
He then looked at their bewildered faces. "And the '1 Yin' stage?" he continued, a playful glint in his eyes. "Rest (休息):" Allow your mind to process and consolidate. Without rest, true mastery is impossible."
A few students scribbled furiously, others simply stared, trying to comprehend. It was a technique that sounded simple, yet its depth was profound, especially when combined with his exabyte brain.
"I do. I'm curious about how strong we both are," Ariana said, stepping forward with an eager glint in her eye, having absorbed his explanation with ease.
