Chapter 95:
Disciple to The Demon King
I thought I was good at magic swords, but Enuma told me otherwise. Here I was in Domain training further to enhance my breathing. "This training is to enhance your endurance so you can utilze your magic and enhancements longer" Enuma explained,
We trained consistently in Domain, while other slept. A new training that Enuma showed me. Magical Yoga.
It was a combination of breathing, posture, and meditation to control the flow of energy in the body. The effects are… hmm, well…… various, it seems, and by taking poses I normally don’t, I stimulate and activate muscles and joints in areas that are not often used in everyday life… hmm, but that pose…
"Magical Happy Baby Pose! Keep this up for a minute." The demon king announced as Enuma was lying on his back, hold the knees with both hands. Slightly pull the chin back and straighten the back.
With the knees open, pull the thighs to the side, grasp the soles of the feet with the hands, and pull them downwards. This…… there was such a pose in the treasured book I had hidden in my room. I failed to recall what it was called again.
This training is serious. Therefore, Enuma took poses like “Happy Baby” and such with a straight face. "Stretch the hips and spine. This soothes the mind and alleviates stress and fatigue." Enuma said while flexing and stretching.
I was glad we were in my Domain world. No matter what happens, it’s all a dream. I endured, clenched my lips so hard I might bite it off.
That is when Enuma changed it up. "High difficulty pose. Magical Demon Saint Pose!"
I was baffled. Crawling on all fours, Enuma hung his left leg over his left shoulder and extended his knees straight.
Floating with the right foot straight behind him, and supported his whole body with only the hands to maintain the posture… what a limber body… amazing…… and yet, not good!
"This strengthens the triceps, abdominal muscles, hips, and core, and also improves concentration and balance." Enuma continued to explain. That’s enough. Now, I’m unable to keep listening…[Not laughing out loud at least]
So, the Demon King activated his magic, "And this, boy, is my favorite Great Demon Spiral… materialization in both hands Great Demon Twin Spiral • Devil Spiral Breakstream!!!"
I screamed in agony as I was devastated by his magical attack while doing yoga. A Great Magic Spiral in both hands, I have never seen that before. Two surging spirals create a huge swirl, causing a catastrophe in the Domain world.
Even though I didn’t laugh out loud, the smiling Enuma looked very angry. I didn’t laugh… I endured… Forgive me…I woke up.
“Hah, hah… ah~… so much night sweats.” I recognized the room. I was in my sleepwear, as I got up from the bed, was drenched with sweat. I thought, “Fuh~… even though it’s a dream, being killed is exhausting… not a good way to wake up…”
Enuma lashed at me, "It is your own fault, laughing over and over again at my expense…"
“B-but, because…” I stuttered in my defense. "Are you prepared? That yoga is not merely for learning Magical Breathing, is it? Concentration, meditation… they will surely lead to gaining another power."
I could only confirmed, “Osu…”. I do understand, but he was too serious. However, the more serious he was, the bigger the impact. In particular, that ‘happy baby’ was bad.
Happy baby with a serious Demon King. "Indeed, you brat! Enough! This is a little early for dawn, but go out for a run!" Enuma said still fuming.
He wouldn’t let it go. I exhaled, “Ah~, geez… well, whatever…”
As punishment, I was forced out of bed by Enuma, who shouted at the bedside to run. So I thumbed my nose at him and accepted, “Well, it’s like a morning walk.”
Enuma barked, "No, you shall make a sprint of it. Promptly move out!"
I was actually worried, “Yes yes… alright, master.”
"Hmm, calling me master only when it is convenient, no longer shall I be deceived!" Enuma still yelling.
It was still dark outside, and the morning sun hasn’t risen. Of course, no one had awoken yet. Looking out of the window, there was no one walking in the streets.
"I shall make you several times stronger than you are now. So, run with the resolve for death!! This is about the strengthening of the lower body! Fufufufu" Enuma cackled with an evil laugh.
I was so confused. Why now is he taking this to another level. "what…"
Then, Enuma, without saying much started chuckling. "Worry not. I shall give counsel as needed. Do not think I would let the boy suddenly do everything from start to finish, so be at ease."
So, if I really look at the situation, then I must have taken after my master. With my humor and work ethic.
Ah, the demon king silently faced the other way, feeling embarrassed. "I am not embarrassed!"
He was embarrassed. Albeit the training consisted of putting weights on both hands and feet felt different from usual. In addition, a vest of weight on my back.
It’s pretty difficult to run while trying keep my balance and stability with my legs. Certainly, this may be a good workout. After a short distance outside the city, the road opened to reach a sandy beach outside the island.
The sandy beach, which stretched on forever, I could see the beautiful scenery with no trash and the endless ocean. Enuma gave me instructions. “Right, sprint 30 seconds!”
Dash for 30 seconds. A run on the sandy beach. My feet get sunk so I can’t step in as powerfully as usual! This is tough for me, and the toes were being trained thoroughly.
Enuma barked a new command, "Right, stop! Ten second interval for shadows."
Another order by Enuma, “Now, shadow box… Imagine a virtual enemy on the spot and punch!”
I murmured, “Pu-punch? Like this!”
That is when the ghostly spirit showed me an example, “O-Ora! Ora, Ora!” as Enuma's own fists piston fired rapidly.
“Wow, it’s fast… I can’t see his hands, it’s beautiful…” I was enamored by his fluid movements.
“Ze, ha, ze, ou…” My own exhales started to grow louder with shadow boxing skills I displayed.
Enuma bark another order, "Ten seconds have passed! Sprint!"
With the weights, I work on my legs, feet and balance, on the sandy beach. This works… if you do it every day, you’ll get quite a workout… that said, I’m finding it demanding to this extent. Yet, I knew from experience that the payoff for training this hard would be immense.
As I was dumbfounded and burning energy, Tre’ainar smiled at me and threw a retort. "The motives for your efforts are impure. Rather, the reason is simple. The more honest people are… the more dedicated… do you remember me saying that shortly after we met?"
I remembered my vow to get stronger so I can take Sadie on a date. I blurted it out so carelessly when I did.
Enuma said, "Boy. In the first place, do you intend to climb high enough just to look down on others?"
“That’s…” I hesitate to answer. I’m training as Enuma told me to, and I’m not thinking of slacking off. But I certainly don’t think beyond why I’ve been doing as told lately.
Chuckling with an evil smirk. "Fuhahaha, well, the simplest one here is you… boy. If you intend to be a big man … not, simply one person. You would have to also attract the people around you, lead others, and sometimes even inspire others…"
Such a burden is bothersome. If it doesn’t work out, I will leave them behind. I should have thought that way, but I was gradually speaking up more.
The sun was just beginning to crest the horizon, casting a warm, golden glow over Mokomo. The city was stirring to life—vendors setting up stalls, townsfolk beginning their daily routines, and the distant clang of blacksmiths working in their forges. Yet, amidst the bustle, I found a rare moment of stillness, standing alone and gazing out over the cityscape.
In that quiet moment, a sudden realization dawned on me by the words that Enuma shared. A clarity that felt almost like a revelation. I was no longer just a lone boy chasing after strength, trying to prove himself. That part of him had driven him for so long, fueled by his desire to be better, to stand tall among others. But now, things had changed.
I had a team around me. People who believed in me, who followed my lead, and who looked up to me—not just as a fellow warrior, but as someone inspiring them to chase their own strength. The weight of that responsibility settled deep in my chest, but it was a different kind of burden—one of purpose, of hope.
I, no longer just chased after others’ strength; I was now the one sparking the fire in others, pushing them to grow and stand tall themselves. And that, I realized, was what truly made me stronger—knowing I had become someone others believed in, someone they wanted to emulate.
A faint smile crossed my face as I looked out over Mokomo’s waking streets. The journey ahead was still uncertain, but with my team by my side, I felt a renewed sense of purpose. I was no longer just a boy trying to catch up. I was a leader, a symbol for others to follow, and a person who could inspire change—not just for myself, but for everyone around me.
Then Enuma just smiled, "That is how the boy becomes a man." as the demon king kept his thoughts to himself. He lived for many centuries, and this was as common to him as the sun rising.
Yet, this was special bond to see his disciple grow so exponentially.
