Chapter 13:
UNLEASH : THE GOD OF EMOTIONS
The dust flew across the battlefield. The flag of Solaris Kingdom fluttered high in the air. On the other side, a huge army of the Aurora Kingdom waited, their commander at the front. Their numbers were massive.
King Lucan, mounted on a white horse with a multicolor feather on his helmet, looked tense.
High-Ranking Knight (trembling):
“Your Majesty… the message we sent… did it reach the receiver?”
King Lucan:
“Yes… did it?”
From the Solaris formation, a muscular man strode confidently forward.
Muscular Man:
“Yes, Your Majesty.”
The high-ranking knight visibly relaxed. His chest widened, he chuckled, saluted Lucan, and returned to his formation.
Suddenly, chaotic whispers ran through the army. The soldiers parted as a teenager around Lucan’s age emerged from the back. Whispers grew louder. The Aurora commander raised binoculars, frowning.
Aurora Commander (arrogant, confused):
“Who the hell is this boy? And why is the king greeting him?”
Lucan dismounted. He and the teenager shook hands and hugged like old friends. The boy had long hair, casually dressed in a t-shirt and trousers.
Kai (laughing confidently):
“So, Lucan… these are the men we need to defeat. Phew… I thought you were in serious trouble.”
Lucan (smiling):
“Actually, we were… until you arrived, Kai.”
Kai (clenching fist, serious):
“Okay… these people are going to regret troubling you, my friend.”
A horn blew from Solaris. Another answered from Aurora. The armies, five miles apart on flat, barren land, surged forward. Lucan stayed on his horse, smirking. Kai stretched as clouds blocked the sun.
High-Ranking Knight (shouting):
“Here we start!”
Kai ripped his t-shirt with one hand, tossing it aside, and continued stretching. As the armies approached, he pulled his hair back, toes kicking up dust. A crackling sound filled the air. Rain began to fall lightly, not enough to affect the battle.
The Aurora commander looked at the sky. Lightning crackled above, growing louder and aggressive. Kai closed his eyes. Lucan moved his horse back.
Lucan (quietly):
“Now is the time.”
A massive lightning strike hit Kai. He smirked as small arcs danced across his body. He began running, passing foot soldiers effortlessly.
Aurora Commander (shouting):
“He is fast! We’ll have to give it everything! If he is something special, maybe we can still do it!”
Kai’s speed increased rapidly. Thunder rumbled. A white energy circle gathered lightning in his hand. His hair spiked upward. He moved faster than a sports car. The commander, sweating, whispered:
Aurora Commander:
“We will have some casualties…”
Kai leaped into the air. His eyes glowed white, thunder crackling across his body. He landed in the middle of the Aurora army, slamming the energy ball into the ground. Soldiers near him were thrown into the sky, many injured. Chaos erupted.
Lucan and the masked tutor cut through the army like a perfect duo. Kai’s thunder strikes tore through soldiers, kicking them through the air.
Aurora Commander (shouting):
“Hey, Brian! Come here! If he’s a worthy opponent, we’ll suffer massive losses!”
A huge, muscular man emerged from a tent, bigger than the tent itself.
Brian (shouting):
“You old man! If he’s not a worthy opponent, you’re gonna die, hag!”
Aurora Commander:
“Where the hell are you going?!”
Brian:
“Mind your own business, old hag.”
Brian approached a tree, hugged it, and pulled it from the ground with roots intact. The commander’s eyes widened.
Aurora Commander:
“Oh… right. He is Brian.”
Brian ran toward the battlefield, tree in hand, leaping over the commander and the tent. Meanwhile, Kai and Lucan pushed the Aurora army back with Solaris forces. The tutor readjusted his mask mid-fight.
Tutor (shouting):
“The first gem of Aurora is out! We’ll have to do better!”
Blood covered the battlefield. A horseman charged from the Solaris border to Lucan.
Horseman (shouting while striking enemies):
“Your Majesty! The old man and mages are ready!”
Lucan nodded. The horn of Solaris blew again. Soldiers, Kai, Lucan, and the rest retreated strategically toward the border.
Aurora Commander (laughing):
“As soon as Brian left, they retreated. I knew it.”
The rain stopped, clouds lingered. Suddenly, a massive fireball appeared in the sky.
Aurora Commander (stammering):
“Hey… what’s this?!”
Kai floated in front of it. Thunder roared around him.
Aurora Commander (panicked):
“Retreat! Retreat! We’re done! We’ll need all ten gems!”
Kai pulled back his hair. Eyes glowing white again, lightning surged through him, striking the fireball with tenfold power.
Alaric (laughing):
“I did this in two days! King, are you happy now?”
Lucan (grinning):
“Wooah… damn! I didn’t know you were this strong, Alaric uncle!”
Kai’s hair spiked, commanding the battlefield. Brian watched as the tree he held caught fire. Kai propelled the fireball with both hands.
Kai (shouting):
“Run! Everyone, run! This is very strong!”
The fireball, covering half the sky, struck the ground in a massive explosion. Everything—soldiers, tents, melted metal, trees, 10% of the forest—evaporated. Brian fell, burned, barely alive, a faint smile on his face. He had proven a worthy opponent.
The explosion surged toward Solaris town. Kai stood in front of it, hands extended, trying to stop it. The fire pressed against him, ground cracking beneath his feet. Eyes closed, then opening white, he screamed:
Kai (primal, pushing limits):
“Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!”
Veins bulging, he pushed beyond his limits. The fire stopped. Exhausted, he fainted. Brian’s life ended on the battlefield.
