Chapter 1:
The Last Hope of Fallen Kingdom
The hall room door opened slowly, and its creaking sound echoed across the large, quiet space.
A pink-haired girl with a long pixie cut entered. The hall was huge but had a dark, heavy feel to it. Three male priests were kneeling in front of the tall statue of the goddess at the far front, their voices steady and low as they praved. The girl walked quietly up to the priests, her steps gentle, and then she bowed respectfully, waiting for the priests' orders.
One of the priests, the middle one, whispered almost inaudibly, "Goddess... please, Goddess, grant us your permission." Suddenly, a single tear of divine light welled in his eye, falling silently to the floor.
The three priests stood together and ordered the girl, "This is a Goddess's wish. We give you this mission- go and fulfill it for humanity. Do it without any mistakes and don't disappoint us."
Then one of the side priests spoke, "Hide your identity and your power. No one must know who you truly are."
The girl bowed her head and said, "It is my honor to fulfill the Goddess's wish."
She then stood up and walked toward the doors of the hall. Her footsteps echoed until she disappeared outside.
The three priests remained standing before the Goddess's statue, their faces serious and quiet. In their hearts, she was not only a chosen messenger-she was their only hope.
After that, the scene shifts to a normal world.
In the classroom, the teacher was teaching physics lessons, but one boy wasn't paying attention. He leaned on his desk and muttered, "Physics is so boring…”
The bell rang, and the room suddenly filled with cheers. School was finally over. The teacher stopped writing on the board and said, “Alright, class, that’s it for today. Go home safely, students.”
The boy rushed out, quickly joining his group of friends, and together they started walking home.
On the way, his friends talked excitedly about games they wanted to play that night. But the boy suddenly froze as a thought hit him. Tomorrow's the math test! His smile turned into tension, and he quickly asked, "Hey, can I borrow your notes for revision?"
His friends looked at each other and then smiled. "Relax, don't worry. We also didn't study for tomorrow's test," one of them said casually. Realizing he wasn't the only one having problems, he relaxed.
He laughed along with them, feeling lighter inside. As they walked, the group kept talking about games, favorite manga chapters, and silly stories from class. Step by step, the worries of tomorrow's test slowly faded away.
But someone was spying on him from the rooftop of a tall building. The figure's shadow remained hidden, undiscovered by anyone, and their true motive was still unidentified. Yet their watchful eyes stayed fixed on the hoy below.
After a while, everyone split off toward their own home routes. Walking alone on his usual route, the boy took out a book from his bag and began reading. It was filled with biology facts today he was reading in the section about adrenaline and how it worked within the human body.
But all of a sudden, he experienced a strange feeling. He stopped and looked back. "Someone's watching me." However, there were no people in the street. He raised his head, suppressed a little laugh, and continued his walk.
Above, an unknown figure was standing on top of an electric pole. Their hands moved quickly, writing something in a small notebook, and their eyes never left the boy.
The boy didn't realize the shadow was following him. After a 5-minute walk, finally he reached home.
After reaching home, he pushed the door open and shouted energetically, “I’m home!” His voice echoed through the house as he hurried to his room.
In the kitchen, his mother was washing the plates. She looked up with a gentle smile and said, “Welcome back. How was school today?”
He said, “ It's just the same, boring day as well.”
After changing, he yawned and called out, “I’m going to take a nap!” before lying down on his bed.
There was silence for a while until his mother’s voice came from downstairs. “Dinner is ready!”
He opened his eyes slowly and looked at the clock. It was 7:47 p.m. on the clock. He stood up and walked to the dining table, where he ate his dinner in peace.
Finishing the last bite, he smiled and said, “Thank you for dinner.” Then, he returned to his room and walked straight to the study table. Sitting down, he opened his book again and continued reading about adrenaline.
He eventually closed the book gently and stood up from his seat. He walked to the switch and switched it off, leaving the room dark. He then lay down on his bed and fell asleep slowly.
Through the room’s window, a mysterious shadow stood silently, observing the boy. Its presence blended with the night, unseen and unknown.
Morning arrived, and he woke up slowly, rubbing his eyes before heading to the bathroom. After a quick bath, he felt refreshed and ready for the day.
In the kitchen, his mother had already prepared breakfast. He sat down, ate quietly, and offered a cheerful “thank you” before standing again.
With his bag over his shoulder, he walked to the door, stepped outside, and left home to begin another school day.
After leaving home, he walked toward his usual route to school. But as he arrived, he stopped in surprise-the path was blocked off with signs and barriers. Workers stood nearby, and people gathered, talking about something that had happened during the night.
He gave a little sigh. “Ahh...I'll have to go through the crowded area.” He made his way through the busy streets, pushing his way through crowds of people hurrying along and chatting.
Finally, after weaving through the crowd, he reached the school gates, a little tired but on time.
He walked into the classroom and dropped his bag beside his chair. Sliding into his seat, he let out a deep breath . “ I'm totally exhausted... today's route was so crowded,” he muttered quietly to himself.
Soon after, the teacher entered the room, smiling a little, and started writing on the board. The teacher said, “All right, everyone, let's get started,” the familiar sound of chalk hitting the blackboard filled the room as the lesson started.
A little while later, the classroom door opened. The same girl with pink hair, cut in a long pixie style, stepped inside. Her voice was calm but serious. “I need to talk to someone about something important. Please allow me sir.”
The teacher paused, looking at her. “Ok, tell me a student name.”
Without hesitation, the girl pointed toward him. The instructor gave his approval. "All right, go ahead. You two can go outside and have a conversation.
He stood up and walked outside, his mind thinking with curiosity. ‘Who is this girl? I've never seen her before…’
He reached the girl and asked, "You... Want to talk to me?”
Suddenly, the classroom spread with a loud bang. A bullet hit him in the stomach. His eyes expanded as he realized the girl had fired it, and he was in shock.
Two more shots fired. He tried to dodge, but the second bullet hit his right palm, and the third hit his neck, thankfully missing any vital part. Around them, the classroom erupted in chaos; students screamed in fear while the teacher froze in shock.
“Why are you trying to kill me?!" he shouted, pain and disbelief mixing in his voice.
The girl didn't answer. Ready to shoot, she raised the gun once more. He suffered serious injuries and had lost a lot of blood, but he was still able to respond. Three more shots rang out-but this time, he dodged them all.
He sprinted toward her, determined. In a panic, he grabbed the girl and jumped for the window of the corridor. They both fell to the school grounds below, falling down the first floor.
The girl quickly reacts; she kicks him away with her foot, sending his body rolling across the dirt for several feet.
He forced himself to stand and said, "This girl... she's not normal." But... my body—it's moving faster. The pain... it's gone. His mind was recalling the passages he'd studied the night before adrenaline. "Let's see how adrenaline works.
With her eyes fixed on him, the girl calmly reloaded her gun. His fists clenched and said. “Alright. Let's see what I can do in five minutes..”
He rushed onward. Three shots were fired, but he barely dodged. He flipped backward in a desperate attempt to get closer, but the girl was quicker, sidestepping and firing again. His thigh got hit by two bullets. Blood flew, but he continued on, his momentum bringing him closer.
She tried to reload, but too late—he attacked, knocking the gun from her hand. It fell across the ground, but victory was hollow. His entire body was shaking as the adrenaline rush was wearing off. His vision blurred as weakness set in.
Without hesitation, the girl drew a black dagger ,shadows writhing along its blade. Dark aura leaked into the air as she moved with inhuman speed. Before he could react, she drove the blade straight into his chest.
His faint smile tugged weakly at his lips, though his voice carried the weight of disappointment. “So... this is my end. I don't think you even know my name. And yet... through this fight... your face looked full of regret.”His voice faded, and his body fell down.
As his body fell down, something slipped from his pocket-his ID card, falling to the ground. The girl bent down, picked it up, and stared at it in silence.
Her lips trembled before she said, “I'll never forget you... You were innocent. But in the future... you would have become a threat to my World.”With those words, she turned and ran, disappearing back into the school's corridors.
Moments later, the teacher and several students rushed down to the school ground. The teacher froze at the sight of the boy's lifeless body, then screamed, "Call an ambulance! Hurry!"
But it was already too late. Sadly he is already dead.
