Chapter 32:
I Reincarnated with My Childhood Friend as Magical Girls
During our 30-minute break, we were sitting at some tables, trying to rest, when an interesting conversation began.
— “Taiyaki, how do you think we’ll be able to create a Fusion? I mean, this could even be something new for them. I doubt it’s possible. How are you so sure we can achieve something like that?”
Mizuki asked me, looking confused.
— “Taiyaki, Mizuki has a point. Don’t you think it would be impossible to pull off? I mean, no one’s ever even tried. If there was even the slightest chance of it working, the Guild would’ve already invested in researching it.”
Akane added, also worried about what might happen.
Mizu, however, spoke with firm confidence:
— “I know Taiyaki might be suggesting something that could be impossible, but we lose nothing by trying. If we don’t even attempt it, we’ll never know whether Fusion between Magical Girls is possible or not. But I believe if we try, we can do it.”
I stayed calm and reassured them with determination in my voice:
— “Relax, girls. I know it sounds crazy, but fortune favors the bold. Fear only leads to failure. I know this is possible. We live in a world of Magic, Demons, and Monsters—so why wouldn’t something like this be real? I’m sure there must be a way to achieve Fusion.”
Akane nodded and replied:
— “Alright, Taiyaki. We trust you enough to try something like this. Let’s hope it works, so we can use it to kill the Demons and their Queen.”
Then Mizu proposed:
— “Well, we could try a small fusion of our powers in a Special Magic Attack. If we can combine our basic attacks together, then I’m certain Fusion itself will be possible.”
After Mizu’s words, we all agreed to try combining our most basic attacks to see if Magical Girls’ elements could really fuse.
With 10 minutes of break still left, I took the time to think carefully about how we might combine our elemental powers into a Fusion Attack. Please, let this work, I thought. Goddess Aqua, grant us luck in our mission, so I can fulfill my purpose in this world and defeat the Demon Queen.
Everything was calm until Rem spoke up after a few minutes of silence:
— “Hey, I know it sounds crazy, but I think this could actually be possible. In this world, almost anything is possible—except for a few things. But this? I’m sure it can be done.”
I answered her:
— “I know, Rem, you have a point. But we can’t let ourselves get overconfident.”
Nine minutes passed, and it was time to head to the Spell Creation training. We went outside to the Guild’s practice yard, where a woman of about 29 years was waiting for us.
She introduced herself:
— “Nice to meet you. I’m Marta, and I’ll be your guide in creating spells. Please, show me what you can do.”
Each of us demonstrated our abilities. Afterward, I spoke to Marta with my proposal:
— “Excuse me, Miss Marta, but what if we tried combining our attacks to make a stronger one? I think it might be possible if we all join forces.”
She stayed silent, thinking for a few minutes. I was nervous, afraid she’d reject my idea. But then she said something I couldn’t believe:
— “Alright, Miss Taiyaki, we’ll try your proposal. I’ve never thought of something like that, but I believe it might work. Please, form groups of five and attempt what Miss Taiyaki has suggested.”
So Rem, Mizu, Mizuki, Akane, and I formed a group. They asked me if I had a plan. I explained:
— “Listen carefully. You’ll each place your hand on my back and channel your Elemental Magic into me. I’ll focus it together with my Dark Magic to unleash a powerful attack. Let’s try to do this smoothly. I believe we can.”
They nodded and positioned themselves behind me, each resting a hand on my back. My target was a massive rock nearby.
As they began channeling their Elemental Magic into me, I felt their energy flowing through. An aura surrounded me, glowing pink. My vision was tinted in pink hues. I felt different—stronger. Powers I had never sensed before surged through me.
I focused, raised my hand, and pointed my fingers like a gun at the rock. The energy condensed into a small but incredibly powerful point on my fingertip, crackling with sparks.
When I felt ready, I fired.
A brilliant flash burst from my finger, blasting toward the rock like a bullet. A massive explosion followed, but the sound of the impact came seconds later—like thunder after lightning. The rock was obliterated, leaving behind a deep crater about a thousand meters deep and fifteen meters wide.
Miss Marta stood frozen, shocked by what she had just witnessed. The other groups of girls were equally astonished, unable to believe what we had accomplished.
After several moments of silence, Marta finally spoke, calm but serious:
— “You girls have incredible talent. I see now a glimmer of hope for defeating the Demons and their Queen. I’ll inform the King and Queen about this. I’m certain they’ll arrange special training for you five, to help you achieve the Fusion you discussed with the Elite Girls. I expect great things from you. You’re exceptional—even for Rank A and Rank S.
As for the rest of you, I want you to work on replicating what Miss Taiyaki’s group has accomplished. In a few weeks, I expect results. That’s all for today.”
With that, she left, and we went back to the dining hall, still processing what had just happened.
