I got a new skill.

I was discharged from the hospital my body felt nimble, still weak but manageable. I took a shower, and it felt nice. The hot shower cleansed my body as if I were getting cleansed. Later that day, I hopped out of the shower and dried off.

The steam from my body fogged up the mirror. As I get dressed out of the hospital gown. I heard a voice when I was looking out the window.

Afina was going to stop by and tell me about the subjugation spell. 

I was excited knowing I could make anyone submit to me.

I was pacing around my room at the hospital, wondering when Afina was going to explain this new skill.

Those thoughts are driving me insane so many questions. I called out for Afina; nothing. I sighed and got back in my bed as I closed my eyes while the cold air blew up against my back.

When you said "used on humans," what is it you meant?

“Congrats, Mason, on becoming corrupted. There’s no coming back; embrace this skill to avoid losing those close around you. Or used it to gain intel while doing other things.”

Is there any way to redeem myself from this evil power I was granted?

“No, you are stuck in this stage you chose; now go explore that power.”

“Goodbye now, Mason.”

Should I tell Isela and Tyla about this? On one hand, if I do, they will be wary of it to avoid any manipulation; however, on the other hand, they could tell others about this ability, not Tyla, of course. What if I

No, that isn’t right. I will not bind Tyla to me or Isela, but if I did, I wouldn't be afraid to lose them.

Time to try this spell out.

I got my clothes on and told the nurse I am going for a walk. Which I did, but in that sense, I wandered off into the forest, the trees subtly moved back forward, the wind was low, it felt like a fever dream.

Everything was perfect as if I was in someone else's story. Time to look for an animal to subjugate. There was a bird flying around, big beak, big wings; it reminded me of a Pokémon named Farrow. It was perfect for surveillance, not too big, not too small. Enough to make it not stand out.

The disk system was flashing bright colors, as if it were a glitch. I looked at my menu and found I had two ways of using this system. One way is to forcefully make something bend to their will and serve me. The other was forming a long lasting pact that the partner you form a pact with can break with or without the caster's approval.

I used my knife, slightly cutting my finger, and blood started to gush out little by little.

I was stunned it worked. I was excited with this new ability I have; I didn’t have to ask if it wanted to form a pact. That power fueled me to try it out some more for tactical reassurance. I had a flashback, with Tyla and Isela happy to see me.

Those smiles made me feel a little more human; they knew I changed but didn’t know if it was for the better or for the worse. As much as I loved using the Force skill, I can't. I slowly am becoming my own tyrant for my own benefits.

It was getting dark; the sun slowly faded, and a nice dusk color filled the sky. The forest was getting eerie, and the winds picked up. Just as the sun fully went down, I went back to the hospital, entered my room, and flopped on my bed. My mind drifted into a slumber. I saw the bird's-eye view, constantly scanning for anything that seemed odd. Nothing seemed odd, and then I told the bird to rest.

Just like that, my mind is back into my body. I will try this on a few more species.

I got up earlier than usual; as usual, I told the nurse, "I am going for a walk." I told myself I need some new gear. Maybe there is a black market around here or even on the outskirts. I went back deeper into the woods, and I saw a unique-looking creature. It was deadly but came off innocent. I looked at its stats, and my jaw dropped. The stats were out of this world.

This creature was called a chibimon. The color was very vibrant, dark purple mixed with a little pink. Big eyes, fluffy, and friendly towards me, granted I tamed it. 

I will call you Kibi. 

Now let's see what kind of creature you are. I didn’t know that the disk system had an index, probably because of the guild.

Kibi is a poisonous animal with the traits of stealth and infiltration. I wonder what about the bird creature I tamed. I will name the bird creature Beaky because of his big beak.

 Beaky is a common type of animal; there are not any traits that stand out to him, said the disk index.

Perfect, a normal bird, easy to blend in with others to gain intel without being exposed. As I was about to close the guild index, something was blinking. I press on it. A prompt came up, it said.

“Hello, It seems you have captured a powerful monster. Would you like to get rid of one of your skills for one of the monster's skills? This monster has two skills; choose carefully. There is a chance if you do take one of the skills, the other one won’t appear on the beast. Do you understand?"

“Please pick one skill to obtain

That's sweet. It has stealth or infiltration.

Stealth is pretty self-explanatory.

Infiltrate is an assassin class trait.

It's an improvement from stealth.

The drawback is I get to use it once a week.

Stealth is a passive skill.

with no drawbacks beside one.

Once you used it. You cannot tell anyone.

If you do, you die.”

Crap.

If people see me with this mythic beast, it will raise questions. Then Kibi tugged on my pants with her teeth, I remembered I could pass it off as I took care of it and it became attached perfectly, and then I could register it.

Time went fast, no wind, no horizon sunset, just pure blackness. No more subjugation for a whole week. That's the drawback of having it. Glad I obtained some new reliable advice. On the other hand, I got the stealth skill, and it’s my trump card. Remember, you're a soldier in an isekai world. Keep it realistic.
