Chapter 39:

Chapter 36: Married Spicy Girl Route With Ayaka (Semi-Canon)

I Just Want to Live Quietly with My Books, But the Past I Want to Forget Keeps Chasing Me!

Three years had passed since the chaotic karaoke incident. Now, we had all graduated from college. That night, in the same small park where Ayaka had hugged me, I asked her to meet me. I was nervous. My hand, holding a small box in my pocket, felt clammy.

Ayaka came in a very beautiful dress. Her face, which was usually fierce, now looked soft. "What's wrong, Akira-kun? Why do you look so serious?" she asked, a little worried.

"Ayaka," I said, trying to calm myself down. "This... this is the same park where you hugged me before. Do you remember?"

"Of course," she replied, her face flushing. "I'll never forget it."

I knelt down in front of her, taking out the small box. "Ayaka Shirogane," I said. "Maybe I'm not the prince of your dreams. Maybe I'm just a man who wants to live a quiet life. But, you came, you changed my life, and you made me realize that life can't be lived alone."

Ayaka looked at me, tears welling up in her eyes.

"So," I said. "Will you marry me?"

Ayaka was silent for a moment. Then, she smiled, tears falling. "You idiot!" she yelled, hitting my arm. "Of course, I will!"

We got married. My life, which used to be quiet, was now filled with happiness. Ayaka became a famous model and went to Korea for her career. Meanwhile, I became a famous lawyer, just as I had always dreamed.

Every day, we could only communicate via video calls. Ayaka always complained about her job.

"Akira-kun, my hair is falling out from being colored so much!" "Akira-kun, have you eaten? Don't get sick!" "I miss you! I miss your cooking!"

I could only smile. I knew she missed me too.

Three months later, Ayaka returned to Japan. I was waiting for her at the airport. She came out with a bright face, her red hair looking even more beautiful. She immediately hugged me, and I held her tightly.

"Akira-kun! I missed you!"

"Me too, Ayaka," I said.

On the way home, Ayaka suddenly handed me a book.

"Here," she said. "There's something I want to tell you."

I took the book. It was a very thick book she had once bought to try and be like Reina. I opened it, and inside, there was a photo. The photo was of a pregnancy test.

I looked at Ayaka. Her face was red. "Ayaka... this..."

"I know you've been waiting for a long time," she whispered, her voice a little shaky. "Our baby... our child is going to be born soon."

I was speechless. Tears fell from my eyes. I didn't know what to say. I could only hug her.

"Akira-kun... are you crying?" she asked.

"No," I replied, wiping my tears. "I'm just happy."

We arrived home. I cooked dinner for us, and that night, in our quiet apartment, we ate together.

I looked at Ayaka and smiled. A genuine smile that I now had. "Thank you, Ayaka," I said. "You made my life, which was once silent, alive."

Ayaka smiled. "You idiot," she said. "From now on, you'll never be alone again."
