Chapter 54:

Making A Guild

Relic Raiders

“Wait, so let me get this straight,” Rina summarized. “You and Iori were reincarnated into our world, and can come back from the dead. Though if you die in quick succession, you get penalized, which is why everyone couldn’t remember you?”

“Yeah, that’s pretty much it,” Kaito confirmed.

With Estelle and Lessia present, Kaito had just finished telling Rina, Khrom, Evona, and Iori about the details of his curse and why it happened. As Kaito being reincarnated played a significant part in the situation, he and Iori took the time to reveal their past lives.

“Okay, that’s a lot to take in…” Rina responded, “And why does it seem like I’m the only one who didn’t know!?”

“Haha, we all learned when the Fiona hatched from her egg,” Khrom explained. “We were all just as surprised as you were.”

“Sorry for not telling you, Rina,” Iori apologized.

Rina walked up to Fiona, who was playing with Lessia, and playfully pinched her cheeks in frustration.

“I’ve missed so much information because of you,” Rina pouted. “You think you can do one of those epiphanies for me?”

Kaito nonchalantly walked up to Rina, “That’s not how it works, Rina.”

Rina looked back at Kaito, still looking frustrated, and responded, “You never know, sometimes all you have to do is—”

Before Rina could finish, Fiona’s eyes started glowing, and she started floating.

“No way this just happened…” Kaito said, surprised by the coincidence.

“What’s happening!?” Rina panicked, almost drawing her sword.

“Wait, Rina! This is the epiphany,” Khrom quickly explained.

Fiona began speaking in a voice of both hers and Shen’s.

“Hello everyone, I’m sorry it took me so long to call back, and abruptly at that. I don’t know what happened, but it’s like I forgot all of you for a while.”

Everyone looked at each other awkwardly, knowing he was likely affected by Kaito’s curse. But he continued…

“I will get right to what I need from you. I need you to form a private guild. The benefits you will get from making a private guild will be imperative in stopping Kouki. I’ll keep it short for now, so please call back when you’ve finished making a guild.”

And just like that, Shen ‘hung up’, making Fiona return to normal. The group stood in silence for a moment.

“Do we know how to call him back?” Kaito asked.

“I don’t think so…” Khrom announced.

Rina sighed upon hearing this. “I guess we’ll just have to figure it out later. For now, we should get that private guild going.”

“Oh, this is exciting! How do we go about starting a guild?” Estelle asked.

“EVONA KNOWS!” Evona yelled with her hand held high. She wanted to flaunt what she remembered from the Giora Adventurer School. “You need to register 10 people to start a private guild!”

“Correct!” Khrom answered as if he were Evona’s teacher. He patted Evona on the head to congratulate her.

Rina analyzed. “We have eight people here right now, but unfortunately, Lessia wouldn’t count towards the ten.”

Lessia wasn’t happy upon hearing that. “What!? Why can’t I be in the guild!? I can fight too!” She started pouting and battering at Rina’s legs.

“Lessia! Why can’t you just behave!” Estelle scolded and grabbed Lessia to stop her battering.

“You need to be at least ten to apply; it can’t be helped,” Rina explained.

“But I’m nine and a half in human years!” Lessia complained. “They can make an exception! Plus, what about Fiona, she’s younger than me!”

Kaito picked up Fiona and retaliated, “My Fiona may be under a year old in human years, but she already looks about 11! As there’s no way we’re telling the guild she’s of a demon race, that’s how old she’ll be!” Kaito mocked Lessia and concluded, “You’ll just have to suck it up!”

Lessia stayed mad in Estelle’s arms, but did her best to retaliate. She created a water bubble and flung it at Kaito, dousing his entire head. Kaito and Lessia stared at each other, pissed.

“Papa’s all wet,” stated Fiona, looking up at him.

“Estelle, hold her still for a second,” responded Kaito. He began winding up his arm for a punch.

“Kaito, don’t!” Estelle demanded, aiming to defend her sister, but Kaito didn’t want to listen.

Estelle spun around to get Lessia away from Kaito, as he continuously tried to get a hit in. Fiona flew out of Kaito’s hands to avoid the situation and laughed.

“Hey, Rina. You think Rachael would be willing to join our guild?” Iori asked.

“Good idea,” Rina commended Iori. “That would officially make it eight, so we’d just need two more.”

“I would suggest Xavian, but he’s impossible to find,” Khrom discussed.

“What about Clenn and Kana?” Evona suggested.

“Those two went out of town. I don’t think they’d be coming back any time soon.” Iori mentioned.

The group that wasn’t bickering continued to brainstorm before Rina concluded.

“Okay, let’s lock in who we have at the guild first. We can get Rachael and find two others who’d be willing to join afterwards.

“Sounds good,” Khrom confirmed.
