Chapter 6:

The Tentacle Monster

Re:Admin

As Admin led his party towards the smuggler's tunnel, a burning resolve solidified within him. He wouldn't just escape. He would ensure Dukren's reign of terror ended swiftly and decisively. The thought of the tentacle monster's potential violation of his companions fueled his actions with a brutal urgency.

"Stop!" Admin commanded, halting his group in a deserted alleyway. "We're changing the plan."

He pulled out his phone, his fingers flying across the screen as he accessed his inventory. What appeared on the screen wasn't an inventory system, it was his bank account which he exploited with a devious intent, and he had access to infinite money, due to Admin exploiting the bank system for years and being transferred into another world

"Admin, what are you doing?" Tundra asked, her digital eyes narrowed with concern.

"We're not running," Admin replied, his voice grim. "We're taking the fight to Dukren. Right now."

He tapped the screen, and with a soft whump, a crate materialized before them. He opened it to reveal a cache of high-explosives: grenades, dynamite, and even a few C4 bricks.

Mirai's eyes widened. "Where did you get all of that?"

"Doesn't matter," Admin said, his focus solely on the task at hand. "We're going to blow that perverted freak and Dukren straight to hell."

"But what about the citizens?" Aurelia protested. "What about my mother?"

"I'll deal with your mother later," Admin said dismissively. "Right now, Dukren is the priority. He's the source of the problem. We take him out, the monster goes with him."

He handed Tundra and Mirai a few grenades each. "Tundra, Mirai, your job is to lead the citizens to safety. Get them out of the city using the smuggler's tunnel. I'll handle Dukren."

"But Admin, that's suicide!" Tundra exclaimed. "You can't take on that monster alone!"

"I'm not alone," Admin countered, glancing at Eyrie, who was watching him with wide, admiring eyes. "I have Eyrie."

"Eyrie?" Mirai frowned. "What's she going to do?"

"She's my good luck charm" Admin responded

Before they could argue further, a guttural roar echoed down the alleyway. The tentacle monster lumbered into view, its many eyes fixated on them with a predatory gleam. Dukren, clinging to its back like a grotesque jockey, cackled maniacally.

"Well, well, well," Dukren sneered. "Looks like our little rat has decided to come out and play. I'm going to enjoy watching you squirm."

Admin ignored Dukren, his focus solely on the monster. He grabbed a handful of dynamite, wired them together, and lit the fuse.

"For the safety of my party members virginity!" Admin shouted, hurling the bundle of explosives at the tentacle monster.

The dynamite exploded in a deafening roar, engulfing the monster in a cloud of smoke and fire. The tentacles flailed wildly, thrashing against the cobblestones.

"Again!" Admin yelled, grabbing another bundle of explosives. He launched them at the monster, one after another, turning the alleyway into a raging inferno.

Eyrie watched in glee, clapping her hands with delight as the monster writhed in agony. Tundra and Mirai, though initially hesitant, realized the futility of arguing with Admin. They nodded grimly, leading Aurelia and the fleeing citizens towards the smuggler's tunnel.

Admin continued his relentless assault, his face streaked with soot and sweat, his eyes burning with a manic intensity. He didn't stop until the tentacle monster was nothing more than a charred, writhing mass.

Finally, the smoke cleared, revealing Dukren, battered and bruised but still alive. He stared at Admin with a mixture of fear and hatred.

"You… you haven't won!" Dukren spat. "I'm still the prince! I still have power!"

Admin walked towards Dukren, his revolver drawn. "Not anymore," he said, his voice cold and devoid of emotion. He pulled the trigger, and Dukren's reign of terror came to an end.

With Dukren dead and the monster vanquished, Admin turned his attention to Queen Lazarus. He found her locked in a cell, her face pale and tear-streaked.

"Admin," she said, her voice weak. "Thank you for saving me."

Admin stared at her for a moment, his expression unreadable. Then, he pulled a Molotov cocktail from his inventory, lit the fuse, and hurled it at the Queen.

The Molotov exploded, engulfing the Queen in flames. She screamed in agony, her body writhing in the fire.

"What have you done?!" Aurelia cried, rushing towards the cell.

"It's too late," Admin said, his voice devoid of remorse. "The tentacle monster reproduces babies inside its victims. She's already contaminated. It's better this way."

He turned and walked away, leaving Aurelia to grieve. He had done what he had to do. The perversion was purged. The threat was eliminated.

The thought of the queen being taken advantage of by the monster was something he couldn't let slide and he had to handle the situation carefully, he'd rather burn down a village rather than let the perverted tentacle monster get close to his party members.

In reality, Admin didn't give a damn about the tentacle monster's reproductive habits. He had simply used it as an excuse to kill the Queen, a desire he had harbored since he first laid eyes on her. It was finally done and now he can sleep soundly without having nightmares.

The true horror of Admin's actions had just begun.

Aurelia stood in stunned silence, the stench of charred flesh still thick in the air. The grief for her parents warred with the horror of Admin's actions. She couldn't reconcile the ruthless killer with the man who had saved her from the golem replica.

"Why?" she whispered, her voice barely audible. "Why did you do that?"

Admin turned to face her, his expression cold and indifferent. "I told you. It was necessary."

"Necessary? To burn my mother alive? There had to be another way!" Aurelia cried, tears streaming down her face.

"There wasn't," Admin said flatly. "Now, what are you going to do about this kingdom?"

Aurelia wiped her eyes, taking a deep breath. "I… I don't know. Everything has changed."

"Someone needs to take charge," Admin said. "Someone needs to lead these people."

Aurelia looked around at the devastated city, the fleeing masses, the smoldering ruins of her home. The weight of responsibility settled heavily on her shoulders.

"What do you suggest?" she asked, her voice barely a whisper.

"You," Admin said, pointing at her. "You should be queen."

Aurelia shook her head. "I can't. Not after what's happened. I'm not strong enough."

"Then find someone who is," Admin said. He scanned the crowd of refugees, his eyes searching for a suitable candidate. His gaze landed on a young boy, no older than ten, with bright blonde hair and wide, innocent eyes.

"Him," Admin said, pointing at the boy. "Make him king."

Aurelia stared at him in disbelief. "Are you serious? A child? You want to put a child on the throne?"

"Why not?" Admin shrugged. "He's probably less corrupt than anyone else around here. Besides, it'll be hilarious."

The boy, startled by the attention, timidly stepped forward. "M-my name is Alfred," he said, his voice barely above a whisper.

"Alfred, congratulations," Admin said, patting him on the head. "You're the new king of Lazarus."

Alfred looked at Admin and Aurelia, his eyes wide with confusion and gratitude. "T-thank you," he stammered. "I… I won't let you down."

Aurelia looked at Admin, her face a mixture of bewilderment and exasperation. "You can't be serious," she said. "This is absurd. A child can't rule a kingdom."

"He can try," Admin said with a shrug. "Besides, who are you to tell him no? Everyone already thinks he's king now. So if you were to refuse his kingship, you'd cause an uproar."

"This is insane!" Aurelia exclaimed. "We need someone with experience, someone with wisdom, someone who can guide us through this crisis!"

"Then be his advisor," Admin said. "Teach him what he needs to know. Mold him into the kind of leader you want him to be. It's not my problem anymore."

Aurelia stared at him, her heart aching with disappointment. She had hoped that after everything they had been through, Admin would see her as more than just a damsel in distress. She had hoped that he would stay and help her rebuild the kingdom. She had even dared to hope that he might feel something for her.

Taking a deep breath, she mustered her courage. "Admin," she began, her voice trembling slightly. "I… I have something to tell you."

Admin sighed. "What is it, Aurelia? I don't have all day."

"I… I think I'm in love with you," she blurted out, her cheeks flushed with embarrassment.

Admin stared at her for a moment, his expression blank. Then, he burst out laughing.

"You're in love with me?" he said, wiping a tear from his eye. "That's the funniest thing I've heard all day."

"What's so funny?" Aurelia asked, her voice barely a whisper.

"You're not exactly my type," Admin said, his gaze sweeping over her. "Sorry, but I prefer women who are a little more… attractive."

He turned to his party members. "Let's go," he said, gesturing towards the horizon. "We've got better things to do than stick around here."

As Admin and his companions walked away, Aurelia stood alone in the ruins of her kingdom, her heart broken and her dreams shattered. She had confessed her love to a man who didn't even see her as worthy of his attention. And now, she was left to pick up the pieces of her shattered life and guide a ten-year-old boy as he awkwardly ascends to the throne.

Alfred then turns to her "Don't worry Princess I'll be the best king you've ever seen!"

Alfred might be king, but the true challenges for Lazarus had only just begun.

The Admin-Mobile, a vehicle of unknown origin and dubious roadworthiness, rumbled along the dusty path, leaving the chaotic remnants of Lazarus far behind. Inside, Admin sprawled in the driver's seat, his expression a complex mix of boredom and satisfaction.

Tundra, ever the pragmatist, broke the silence. "Admin, you know what you did back there was… questionable, right? The queen… even Dukren, they were alive when you left."

"Questionable? Please, Tundra, it was a mercy killing," Admin scoffed, his eyes fixed on the horizon. "Besides, what was I supposed to do? Stick around and play king? Pretend to care about taxes and trade routes? Ugh, no thanks."

Mirai, leaning back against the seat, grunted in agreement. "He's got a point. Admin's not exactly the 'ruling with compassion' type. He'd probably just declare war on the next kingdom over because they looked at him funny."

Eyrie, perched on the armrest, giggled. "Yeah, King Admin would be so boring!"

Admin grinned, pleased by their support. "Exactly! I'm not cut out for royalty. All that pomp and circumstance, the endless ceremonies, the sycophantic advisors… I'd rather wrestle a griffin than deal with that nonsense."

"But why a kid?" Tundra pressed. "Why make a ten-year-old king?"

Admin shrugged. "Why not? It's hilarious! Imagine the look on those stuffy nobles' faces when they have to take orders from a kid who probably still wets the bed. Besides, kids are more impressionable. Aurelia can mold him into a decent ruler, or at least someone who won't start a war just because he's bored."

"And let's be honest," Admin continued, a hint of mischief in his voice. "Running a kingdom is a pain in the ass. Endless responsibility, constant threats, and everyone trying to stab you in the back. I'd rather spend my time exploring ancient ruins, fighting monsters, and finding out what the heck happened to my memory. King Alfred can deal with the paperwork."

Mirai chuckled. "Yeah, that's our Admin. Always thinking ten steps ahead… or just doing whatever amuses him the most."

Eyrie, ever the innocent, piped up. "So, King Alfred will be a good king?"

Admin shrugged. "Who knows? Maybe. Maybe not. But at least it'll be entertaining to watch. And hey, if he messes things up, we can always come back and fix it. Or, you know, find another random kid to take his place."

Tundra sighed, shaking her head. "You're incorrigible, Admin. Absolutely incorrigible."

"Guilty as charged," Admin said with a grin. "But hey, at least I'm honest about it. I'm not pretending to be some noble hero or selfless leader. I'm just a guy trying to figure things out, and having a bit of fun along the way."

He paused, glancing at each of his companions. "And I wouldn't trade you guys for all the power and riches in the world. That's why I did what I did back there."

"Is that because of our virginities?" Eyrie blurted out

Mirai face palmed as Admin burst out laughing

Admin turned his head around to face them "Yes"

The Admin-Mobile rumbled on, carrying its unconventional crew further and further away from the crumbling kingdom of Lazarus. As they journeyed into the unknown, one thing was certain: life with Admin would never be dull, even if his decisions were often baffling, questionable, and occasionally downright insane. He was a force of nature, driven by his own peculiar logic and a desire to protect his friends, even if his methods were… unorthodox.
