Chapter 1:

Theos

The age of demigods

Village of Kryphos, a small peaceful village, full of greenery and with a beautiful view of the vast ocean. Here, people were cheerful, kind, and cared for one another.

On the other side of the village, meanwhile…

— Where’s Theos? — asked Sophia.

Sophia is Theos’s best friend and the daughter of the goddess of wisdom, Athena. Like her mother, Sophia inherited long red hair and golden eyes.

— I don’t know, that idiot should have been here already — said Icarus.

Like Sophia, Icarus is also Theos’s best friend. And, like her, he is the child of a god—but not just any god. Icarus is the son of the king of the gods, Zeus. He has medium-length, straight white hair and blue eyes like his father.

— You’re too hard on him, Icarus — said Sophia.

— You’re the soft one with him.

Suddenly, a scream came from afar:

— AAAAAHHH! HELP ME!

— Could it be Theos? Icarus, go help him!

— Definitely him. The plan was just for him to lure the runaway horses. Can’t he even do that? I’ll go see what happened.

Theos ran at full speed, and Icarus asked what had happened. Theos replied:

— Look behind you.

The horses were running toward them, and Icarus started running alongside Theos.

— You idiot, what did you do to make them like this? — asked Icarus.

— Uh, wasn’t it my job to lure them? That’s what I’m doing.

— But not like this, you idiot!

— Hehe, my bad.

After running for a while, they managed to lure the horses to Sophia, who was able to restrain them. Then Theos and Icarus collapsed to the ground, exhausted from running.

— Geez, you two are hopeless — said Sophia.

— You two? It’s that mixed-head here who can’t do anything right!

— But I did exactly what I was supposed to do. And who’s the mixed-head here? You, white-head!

— Who are you calling white-head?

— That’s enough, boys! Seriously, all you do is argue.

Icarus called Theos “mixed-head” because of his hair, which is black with silver-white streaks. His eyes are a deep silver color.

— Also, Icarus, don’t forget that our days here are ending. AAA! Why do I have to go to my mother’s city?

— Don’t remind me… my father thinks if I stay here, I’ll waste my potential. That’s probably why he wants me to go with you to your mother’s city.

— It must be nice to have parents who are gods, huh? I’m jealous of you.

— Not so much, Theos — said Sophia. — As much as I love my mother, I like it here. It’s calm, the people are kind, and there are no sounds of swords clashing against shields all day. Every time I go there, I just think about this place and how nice it is to come back. I think you’re the one who should be jealous of me.

— I could say the same thing. I don’t like being with my father… I mean, he just tells me to study and train to be an example, then disappears without saying a word. I know he’s busy—after all, he’s the king of the gods—but he practically never sees me, just orders, and that’s it. I guess, deep down, I’m a little jealous of Theos too.

— Look at that, Mr. Silent Icarus opening up… I think it’s going to rain! — teased Theos.

— Shut up.

The three of them went to a cliff overlooking the ocean and stayed there until night began to fall.
