Chapter 5:

Walking with Lizard man

The Emotionless

"Why didn't you tell them that I was the one who made you fall, and about the salty food I gave you, and all the other things?"

"Because I don't give a damn," Hiroshi sighed. "Now you can leave."

Rania, frustrated, kicked him again and said: "Are you mocking me?"

Then she kicked again and again Hiroshi while he was lying down.

"What are you doing!"

"Your stupid face irritates me."

"It's not my problem if I have this face. Now go away, I need to sleep."

She asked, irritated: "But why are you behaving like this? Huh? Do you think you're cool?"

"No. Now go away."

"I didn't come at this hour just to leave."

"Then why did you come?"

"I came for you, my love," Rania said, making a seductive expression and taking Hiroshi's hand in hers.

"Do you take me for a fool? A minute ago you had an expression like you wanted to kill me, and now you say you came for me. How stupid are you? Now I understand why the old woman doesn't send you anywhere, because she knows your stupidity has no limits."

THE NEXT DAY

"What happened to your face, Hiroshi? Why is it all blue?" asked the old woman Eldorra.

"Nothing, I just fell."

"Doesn't look like it."

"Don't worry about it."

I had said a bit too much yesterday, and I got the consequences. That girl's punches hurt. I need to be careful with her, and especially I need to hold back my tongue. There's no need to talk more if it's not necessary.

That entire day Rania spent smiling, especially when she looked at Hiroshi's eye.

So the week passed and the free day arrived.

Hiroshi went out to properly get to know this new world.

Well, today I'll try in every way to learn as many things as possible.

"Hey, why did you bring me with you? I don't want to ruin my only day walking through the streets with a person like you," Rania said.

"Didn't you hear what the old woman said?"

"Yes yes, I know. She said 'Take Hiroshi for a tour downtown, so he'll know the streets,' and various stuff."

"Well, then you should listen to your aunt."

"What do you want from me?"

"I saw that this world works with magic."

"What do you mean by 'this world'?"

"I made a mistake."

"Doesn't seem like it."

"Leave it and answer the question." "Yes, there are 3 types of magic that exist: 1) heal magic, which focuses only on healing and mainly priests have it; 2) elemental magic, which is formed by 4 types of elements: earth, water, wind, fire; 3) boost magic, which consists of enhancing both yourself and others through their formulas. I don't know exactly, so you should ask a specialist."

"Can everyone do magic?"

"Yes, I think so. To do magic you need to have mana in your body."

"Mana? Everyone has it?"

"Yes, but not everyone is capable of doing magic. There's great study and process involved."

"Do only mages exist?"

"No, besides mages there are various other classes, like warriors."

"So only 2?"

"These are just titles, then inside there's a vast world. Like among warriors there are tanks, archers, lancers, etcetera."

"Good."

"Do you also know how to use magic?" Hiroshi asked.

"Yes, I do."

"Which one?"

"It's none of your business," Rania replied with an expression mixing anger and embarrassment.

"Where do you want to go?" she asked.

"I don't know, I don't know this city. Where would you like to go?"

"I'll go where I want to go, and not with you."

"Good. Can I ask what these tattoos you have are?"

"Don't you know? I'm a  lizard man, my parents are too."

Hiroshi thought for a few seconds and looked at Rania carefully.

"WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING AT LIKE THAT!?" she yelled, blushing.

"You don't seem that much like a lizardman. You're not a lizard, you don't have a tail or snout. You're like a human just with tattoos."

"Are you stupid? -_-"

"Why?"

"Don't you know that there are many types of one race? I'm one of the many types of lizardman."

"So you can transform into a lizard man?"

"I'm already a lizardman, but more humanoid. Wait, let me explain better: you see these tattoos? They were made by my maternal grandfather at my birth. Thanks to these I also have control over the powers of a lizard man."

"Good, what powers do you have?"

"You're boring me with your questions."

"I apologize."

"Oh well, I'll tell you. So, a lizardman is stronger in hand-to-hand combat against a normal human, can stay calm in high temperatures, we have rapid regeneration but this only if we've learned heal magic. But we're vulnerable to cold, we can't bear that."

"Good, you're really a useful person in the end."

"What do you mean by that?"

"Nothing."

At that moment a child in front of them tried to go to the other side of the street, but Hiroshi stopped him by pulling him back by the collar.

Right at that moment a cart passed very quickly.

"Child, be careful when you cross the street."

The child nodded and left.

"Could you have been gentler?"

"I didn't do anything."

The day passed and evening arrived. Hiroshi and Rania hadn't gone almost anywhere useful: only to eat at a restaurant different from his aunt's because Rania had gotten tired of eating her food, then they had gone to see the race of animals that were a mix of horse and velociraptor, where Rania lost brutally. She asked Hiroshi for money saying that now she would win, and lost his too. So the two, without money, were on the street returning home.

"You have to give me the money."

"I know! I'll give it back to you!"

"I had told you it was inadvisable to do such a thing, and we would lose the money, but you didn't listen to me."

"And what was I supposed to do? Didn't you see that woman with curly hair how she was laughing and clinging to her man?"

"They're rich, you're not."

"Don't say that! I'm sure that one day I'll have money too."

"It's nice to have false illusions in your mind."

"Are you laughing in my face?"

"No, I can't. I'm just telling you the truth."

"You're really a strange person. You say you can't feel emotions. AH! Do you think I'll believe this nonsense?"

"I don't care if you believe it or not, I only told you the truth."

"Then try to smile."

"I can't."

"Hey, try!"

"NO."

Then Hiroshi pointed to a building.

"Hey Rania, look, is that place a church?"

"Yes. AH, WAIT, COME WITH ME!"

Rania brought Hiroshi inside. The church seemed modest outside, but inside it was a work of art: the hand-painted frescoes, the carved pillars, and the design of the church was truly magical. Then Rania went to the priest who was there and asked:

"Good morning, I want to verify what magic this person has, if you wanted to know."

"Hello dear, how are you? How is Eldorra?"

"I'm fine too and so is she, but one thing: we don't have money to pay."

"It doesn't matter, dear. In the house of the LORD, everyone is invited without being asked for a penny. Tell the boy to come behind me."

So the two began walking behind the priest. He brought them to a room where there was a magic sphere.

"Now, boy, put your hand on this magic sphere and let's see what magic you have."

"Good."

So Hiroshi put his hand and boom: nothing happened.

"Dear, take it off and put it back on."

Again nothing happened.

The priest's eyebrow rose, but he didn't give up, so he told Hiroshi to show him his hand. Then he took his in his own hand, read something, looked at the hand and said:

"He cannot use magic."
