Chapter 17:

Eleo vs Sniper

The Bunny Kid Who Wants To Become The Strongest: vol 2 noya

The desert wind howled.

Eleo and the sniper stood facing each other, not moving a muscle—just staring.

A full minute passed.

"…Wait," Eleo finally asked, ears twitching. "What's your name?"

The sniper blinked. "Huh? Oh. Uh… Randy."

Another long, awkward pause.

They kept staring.

Then Randy scoffed. "Are you just gonna stand there like a dumbass or actually fig—"

"INK HAMMER!!"

Eleo shot forward like a cannonball, his fist morphing into a massive, swirling ink hammer mid-strike. Randy raised both arms in time to block, but the impact launched him backward, slamming him into a dune.

Randy quickly raised both his pistols, firing off blue-glowing orbs that streaked through the air.

Eleo dodged—barely—rolling through the sand.

"WHOA! What was that?!"

Randy flipped into a crouch, grinning wildly. "These aren't ordinary bullets, bunny boy. They're tech-grade energy rounds. Designed by Dr. LoLo herself. Found 'em in a crate dumped by the Ascendants. Just lying there. Like fate."

Eleo's eyes sparkled. "That's… so cool."

Randy tossed his bangs dramatically and winked. "Right?! I know. Pretty impressive for a guy with taste, style, and the sexiest aim on the continent."

Suddenly, he opened fire, unleashing a barrage of blue orbs like a one-man storm.

Eleo dashed, flipped, and slid through the desert, but one orb clipped his side—

BOOM!

It exploded on impact, sending him tumbling.

Before he could fully recover, more rounds kept coming. Eleo dove behind a rock, then tossed something—

a floating ink ball.

Randy halted, lowering one pistol slightly. "Huh?"

He narrowed his eyes.

"Where the hell did he go…?"

He approached the ink sphere cautiously, weapons trained. "You think hiding in a bubble's smart? Bad move, dumbass."

He smirked, cocking one gun. "Soon as you peek your furry head out, I'm gonna blow it off."

But then—

A shadow loomed behind him.

"Wait…"

He turned, eyes wide.

"–Huh?!"

Eleo popped up from behind, both arms transformed into massive, blunt ink hammers.

"SURPRISE INK SMASH!!"

WHAM!!

Randy was sent flying to the right, bouncing through the sand like a ragdoll.

Before he could recover, Eleo dashed after him, fists now flickering with pure ink energy.

"INK BARRAGE!!"

Fist after fist rained down, each hit faster than the last. Randy raised an arm to block but was too late—

WHAM! WHAM! WHAM!

With a final spin, Eleo twisted in midair, his right arm swelling with charged ink.

"INK FIST!!"

He landed the blow center-mass.

The impact caused the ink to ignite in a pulse, a shockwave rippling through the air—

BOOOOOOM!!

Randy was launched backward, skidding through the dirt, coughing as he hit the ground.

He growled and slapped a glowing button on his wrist.

His gun's core expanded, glowing with high-intensity power.

"Time for the grand finale, bunny boy!"

He aimed and fired—

A giant beam of concentrated blue energy erupted, scorching across the battlefield.

Eleo's eyes widened.

"—Oh cra—"

The beam hit him dead-on, swallowing his entire form in blue fire and smoke.

The beam finally faded, its electric hum dying down. The smoke cleared.

Eleo stood on both knees, body trembling, jacket torn to shreds, fur matted with blood. His mouth dripped crimson, chest heaving with every ragged breath. His hands shook—but he hadn't fallen.

Randy lowered his pistols, blinking in disbelief.

"…I'm impressed. No, really—I mean it. You're still standing."

He whistled low. "You must be pretty damn durable, bunny boy."

Eleo coughed blood, forcing a shaky smile.

"Yeah… I've fought some strong people before. Maybe that's why I'm still up…"

Randy chuckled. "Well, doesn't matter now. I know your game—up close, I lose. But from here? I win."

He raised both pistols again, glowing with energy.

"So buckle up that fuzzy chest, fur sucker—'cause I ain't stopping 'til you're a smoldering pile."

Eleo grit his teeth, slammed both palms together, and his hands morphed into a massive black ink cannon.

"INK CANNON!!"

He fired—a black-and-purple spiral blast tearing through the desert.

"GAMMA BLAST!!" Randy roared, both guns lighting up as he unleashed twin energy beams to clash with Eleo's.

The attacks collided mid-air, sending shockwaves across the dunes.

When the dust cleared, Eleo was down again—on both knees, gasping, his ears drooping. Smoke rose from his shoulders.

Randy laughed, limping toward him with swagger.

"Ahhh man... Is the bunny kid finally cracking? Thought you'd last longer. It was nice knowing you, kid."

He raised his gun.

But—

Eleo looked up.

His pupils had vanished.

His eyes turned deep red, glowing with a violent intensity.

Randy's finger froze on the trigger.

"Wait—what the hell are you—"

Eleo vanished.

A fist dug into Randy's gut, folding him in half. The shockwave cracked the sand beneath them, lifting dust like a mini explosion.

"I won't let you kill him," Eleo said.

But his voice was deeper. Calm. Cold.

Before Randy hit the ground, Eleo teleported again—

A kick to the ribs.

Another teleport.

BAM!

A spinning backfist to the jaw.

Another.

An elbow to the spine.

Randy was helpless—ragdolled, flying with every hit.

Eleo reappeared in the air, above him.

"Let's finish this."

He came down full force—double-foot stomp to the chest, blasting Randy straight into the earth.

CRAAAAAASH!!!

A massive crater formed, shaking the ground. Randy lay in it, barely conscious.

Eleo landed beside him, eyes still red.

He looked down.

"…Still alive, huh? Human."

He reared his fist back, slammed it deep into Randy's stomach.

Randy coughed blood, gasping, eyes wide.

Then—Eleo grabbed him by the throat and lifted him effortlessly.

And that's when the air changed.

A dark presence loomed behind him.

Morte.

Cloaked in shadow, tall, regal, impossibly still—his grin like a carving across marble.

"Do it, Eleo."

His voice was smooth. Seductive.

"Kill him. Crush his throat. Drive your fist through his chest. Tear his spine out like a prize."

Eleo blinked. "…What?"

Morte stepped forward, tone like honey and poison.

"If you do it… you'll gain power. Real power. Just like you always wanted. Just like you dreamed. Become the strongest, Eleo. Right here. Right now. With one little—crack.**"

Eleo's hands trembled.

"W-Wait—what?! That's not— I just wanted to beat him up, not—"

Morte's smile widened.

"Oh, so now you're moral? Thought you were ready to do anything. You've come this far. You're practically a god already. Just a little more."

Eleo's ears twitched. "…You're saying if I kill him, I'll become the strongest?"

"Exactly." Morte's eyes gleamed. "All it takes is one choice."

Eleo paused. Then—

"NO! You jerk!"

Morte flinched slightly. "...What?"

"I was gonna beat him up, then kill him—but now you're saying it gives me power?! No! I wanna train and earn it on my own! Not because you cheat-coded me, you manipulative fart!"

Morte scowled. "You fool. JUST END HIM! I was lying! There's no power boost—you're just throwing away a win!"

Eleo blinked. "WAIT, WHAT?! So now I don't get stronger?! You're the worst motivational speaker ever!"

Morte facepalmed hard, his fingers digging into his temples.

"Fine! FINE! You little shit… you're starting to piss me off."

Eleo dropped Randy casually and crossed his arms.

"I could say the same about you, Jerk."

Eleo dropped Randy to the sand, finally catching his breath.

He let out a deep sigh and flopped down beside him.

"…Hey Randy."

Randy groaned, coughing sand. "What."

Eleo crawled toward him, eyes half-lidded with exhaustion—then suddenly grabbed his arm and bit into it.

"AAAGGHH!! WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU?!" Randy screamed, yanking his arm away.

Eleo looked up with a mouth full of fur and said, "Do you wanna join my team?"

"…Huh?" Randy blinked, stunned. "Did you just ask me to join your team? Am I hearing this right?"

Eleo nodded like it was the most normal thing in the world. "Yup. I'm recruiting you to help me fight the strongest."

There was a beat of silence—then Randy burst into laughter.

"AHAHAHAHA! OH MY GOD—this kid, this is too funny—AHAHAHAHAHA—!"

Eleo stared at him, expression blank, one eye twitching.

"…Are you done yet?"

Randy wheezed, trying to breathe. "Y-Yeah—I swear—I'm done." He wiped a tear. "God, kid…"

He coughed, a bit of spit and blood coming up. "Look. Every moron out here wants to fight 'the strongest.' You know how many don't even make it past World 2? Or even get into it?"

Eleo's ears twitched. "Me and my team made it through the monster sea that blocks World 2."

Randy raised a brow, genuinely surprised. "…You survived that?"

Eleo nodded proudly. "Yup! And they defeated a sand worm and everything!"

"…Right." Randy smirked, but nodded slowly. "Well, that's impressive. But what about when you actually get into World 2? There's way more to it than you think."

Eleo tilted his head. "There's more?"

"Yeah. Whole bunch of places—crazy regions, secret factions, monster sanctuaries, ruins, bandit islands, you name it."

Eleo's eyes sparkled. "WOW! I WANNA EXPLORE IT ALL!"

Randy laughed. "You're gonna need a flying ship for that, genius."

"Where do all the ships go when they reach World 2?"

Randy wiped some dirt off his coat. "East side of this region. There's a massive port cliff—Ascendant checkpoint. That's where they dock."

Eleo gasped. "THEN THAT MEANS… AMAIIII IS ALIVE! our ship is alive! YESSS!"

He started spinning in the sand.

Randy winced. "Okay, but uh… aren't your teammates gonna be a little mad I tried to kill them?"

Eleo stopped mid-spin. "Hmm… yeah. Probably."

He smiled wide with an overly cheerful voice. "But 100% they'll forgive you."

"…Seriously?"

Eleo patted him on the back—hard. "Yup! Welcome to the team. Just, y'know—maybe don't call us newbies again."

Randy smirked and raised a brow. "Fair enough. Got nothin' better to do than kill scrubs anyway. Might as well ride with the chaos."

Eleo grinned wide. "So is that a yes?"

Randy stretched out his bruised arms, cracked his neck, and sighed.

"Sure. Why the hell not."

[A BLUE MESSAGE HAS APPEARED]

"Okay! Now let's go

Randy blinked. "Wait—you don't even know if they're okay?!"

Eleo shrugged. "I was busy fighting you, duh."

Randy sighed. "This is gonna be a long ride."

Together, they walked back toward the wrecked cliffside, where the rest of the team lay hidden behind the half-shattered rock.
