Chapter 13:
Bangles of power, Warriors of Fate
One day, he dropped off his employer's son at school and returned home.
The employer's name was Esteeno Ojuka. He owned a real estate business, had a wife, Kaneju Ojuka, and a son, Runiho Ojuka. As he was standing there, Esteeno came out and told him to hurry up and take him back to school. Yushura quickly drove him back to school. Esteeno came with his son, made him sit in the car, and ordered Yushura to take them to the hospital.
After some time, the doctor came out and said, “It's unclear what's wrong with the son, but he appears to be extremely mentally exhausted, hasn't slept in nights, has dark circles under his eyes, and his body is weak. I would suggest taking him home and ensuring he gets proper rest.”After hearing this, Yushura took everyone back home. As Runiho's parents were taking care of him and putting him to bed, Yushura watched from behind and was reminded of his own parents in another universe who used to take care of him similarly.
The next day, when he dropped off Esteeno at the office, he overheard a phone conversation where Esteeno said, "My son's health still isn't improving. I had heard that other children in his class are experiencing similar symptoms, and the doctors couldn't seem to diagnose the issue. Many children in the school are falling ill, and their condition is worsening."
This sparked Yushura's curiosity, and he wondered how so many children could be affected in the same way without any clear cause. The next day, he decided to investigate further and went to the school. Upon arrival, he saw parents picking up their children, who were also falling ill and being taken to the hospital. He tried to enter the school to gather more information but was stopped, as only parents were allowed inside.
At night, he was just about to park his car and head in to inform Esteeno that he was leaving for the day and would return tomorrow. As he entered, he overheard a conversation between Esteeno and Kaneju.
She mentioned, "Despite Runiho's poor health, he had been staying up late at night solving math problems, which was unusual since he had never shown much interest in studies. I had tried to get him to rest and eat, but he seemed fixated on solving. "
This conversation struck Yushura as odd, and he started to suspect that something was off about the school. He decided to do some further investigation the next day.
He realized he wouldn't get entry without a valid reason, so he planned to take his friend's 3-year-old son to the school, dressing him up to appear wealthy, and claimed he was there for admission purposes. This way, he gained entry into the school.
During the tour, he asked, “Can I get to see the classrooms and environment?”“Sure, sir,” the coordinator said.
As they walked past the classrooms, he noticed something odd and stopped in front of one classroom. He looked inside and saw a male teacher teaching math to students who seemed strange. Despite solving problems, the faces of the students lacked energy, and they looked like 'dead bodies' doing math.
Yushura used his power, "Second Veil of Perception," and saw invisible forces at play: the students' energy was being drained into the teacher. The teacher stopped writing on the board as he sensed Yushura's presence. He whispered in a low voice," Huh, a watsukai," and turned towards the door, and their eyes met.
Yushura realized the teacher was the source of the problem.
“Now that you have got the tour of the school, shall we continue the admission process?” the admission counselor asked.“Actually, I didn't like the color of the building. I'll think about it if you change the color of the building,” said Yushura and left.
The counselor made a weird face.
He dropped the boy off and returned to the school, waiting for the math teacher to leave and follow him home to uncover his identity and motives.
