Chapter 29:
Reincarnated In a Shounen Genre Novel that Became BL Because of Me
"What are you two doing?"
The two looked up at who asked which turned out to be Rowan who looked annoyed.
"A date." Marshal smiled mockingly at the red haired man.
The said man huffed and suddenly took Jerome who was shocked, "Hey! Wait!"
The duke waved with a smile as if he was expecting such reaction.
The black haired noble can see how the prince was pouting, obviously jealous that as soon as the shorter was free, he was off seeing other men.
"Were you really on a date?" The red head asked, facing him with a pout.
"Of course not, we just saw each other coincidentally."
"I doubt anything's coincidental with that guy." Rowan huffed making Jerome chuckle softly.
"Are you laughing at me?" He huffed again while the shorter just smiled.
"Not really..."
"What are you doing out in the market anyways? You can have Henry or your staff buy them for you, right?" The prince asked.
"I just want to roam around and look for something to buy myself."
"You said sorry for worrying me yet you're still worrying me by going around and about."
"This is an open area with many people, how can I be abducted at this time and day? Also, the culprits were already banished, correct?"
"You're adorably naive." Rowan sighed making Jerome roll his eyes.
"I know that I have many enemies, but to be honest, it was partly your fault I was abducted, right?" The black haired man asked while looking around the stalls.
The crown prince frowned at that making the noble man sigh and smile at him reassuringly, "I'm not blaming you, it was just a fact... also, I said partly... if those two have at least half a brain then they would know that it was illegal to abduct someone and that you won't really fall for Rohesia just because I was gone."
Rowan chuckled softly at Jerome's way of comfort, also looking at some items. "That sounds about right... for I only love Jerome Wright."
The black haired man's ears went red as he huffed and glared at him, "Don't say such things in public."
"Can't I announce my love for you? Maybe I should just kiss you again, so that everyone can see."
The shorter glared at him still, flustered and annoyed.
The prince chuckled again, "Alright, I'll stop... only if you say that you love me too."
Jerome huffed at him, looking away as he continued to look around.
"Oh! My beloved—!"
Rowan started exclaiming his usual theatrics and the shorter had to cover his mouth, since he already anticipated the prince's childish antics.
"Oh, alright just shut up..." He said with an obvious blush, ignoring how everyone looked at both of them.
The noble man looked away as the red head fixed himself and looked down at the shorter with anticipation and a grin.
"I love you..." Jerome muttered.
"I didn't quite hear you."
"Then sucks to be you." The black haired man said and walked ahead.
"What does that mean?" Rowan asked, following right behind.
Sometimes, when Jerome gets annoyed with him, he would use some slangs from his world that Rowan wouldn't understand.
Sometimes, he would also teach the prince words that would make him chuckle since he doesn't expect him to say it.
Such as, 'slay' or 'pop off'.
Rowan doesn't understand much how it was funny but seeing Jerome laughing at such simple words said by him made him happy as well.
His heart is always swelling around the other man and he always found himself smiling whenever he looks at him.
Just as the couple were still looking around the market, Wystan approached them, "Your highness, my lord... Sir Wyeth was asking for your presence."
The black haired man looked at the knight confused, "I as well?"
"Yes."
Rowan looked at the shorter, confused as to why as well, he eventually looked at the larger man and nodded, "We'll be on our way."
It was quite a mystery to Jerome why the King's Adviser wanted to talk to him as well, there were really no relationship between him and Wyeth, so he never assumed they'll be talking to each other.
However, from the novel, the adviser was speculated as the true protagonist since he would always get in Rowan's way.
A few minutes of carriage ride and the couple finally arrived at the palace.
"Don't take this as an offense, your highness, but I don't want to see your father." Jerome sighed, he would use such titles for Rowan whenever they're in public or in the palace, much to the crown prince's displeasure.
"Don't worry, none taken. I don't want to see him too."
The black haired man chuckled softly and the taller did too.
Soon, they arrived at the waiting room where the old man was waiting.
The adviser stood up and bowed to the two in courtesy, "I apologize for being rude and calling you here instead of seeking you out myself."
Rowan shook his head and smiled, "Do not fret Sir Wyeth, we want to hear you out... is it urgent?"
Wyeth looked at Jerome before looking at the prince, nodding, "I believe so, your highness."
The red haired man looked at the shorter beside him, a bit worried at what might the discussion could possibly be about.
The advisor saw the couple's worries and urged them to sit on the couch, "Please, take a seat."
The two young men sat down.
"So...? What is it about? Don't drag on the suspense."
The old man sighed, "Your highness... It is for both of your safety that I suggest that you separate from each other."
The noble man was confused, he knew that being Rowan's lover might cause some trouble' however, he himself wasn't that loved by everyone too, he also has some enemies who envies him for being successful for a rookie businessman.
"Jerome's abduction won't happen again, Sir Wyeth... I assure of that. No danger will hinder our feelings." The prince defended.
The black haired man eyed the older careful, he looked troubled, as if he wanted to say something but he was hesitant.
"What is the real reason for this request other than it is causing an uproar?" Jerome asked.
The adviser looked at him in shock, as if he was seen through his hiding spot.
"Even Liana warned us... is there someone you knew that will cause us trouble?" Rowan asked as well.
"His majesty..."
Before he could continue his words, there was a sudden knock on the door, "Sir Wyeth... His majesty King Roysce is calling for his highness Prince Rowan and Lord Jerome's presence."
Wyeth frowned at this information, but he eventually answered, "They're with me. I'll escort them to the throne room myself."
"I understand." The servant left after she answered.
There was silence between them and Jerome was trying to assess what is currently happening.
"We'll resume this conversation, we cannot let the King wait." The old man stood up and walked ahead.
Rowan looked at Jerome, confused before standing up to follow the older, the shorter followed after.
It was quiet on the way to the throne room and the two young men wouldn't dare to speak or discuss about what was happening.
Sensing the tension, the prince held the shorter's hand to assure him, once the noble man looked up, Rowan gave him a small smile in which Jerome reciprocated.
Once they're at the throne room, King Roysce stood up and the three newly arrived men bowed in courtesy.
"Lord Jerome, Prince Rowan... lift your heads." The king told them and so, they obliged while Wyeth went to the side to not disturb their conversation since he wasn't addressed.
"I must apologize for my attitude on the day of your blessing, Lord Jerome... I have been blinded by your previous status and was stand corrected. I can see that you are quite a hardworker and more noble than any of the pure blooded ones. Therefore, from here on out... I declare Lord Jerome to be officially acknowledged by the Royal Family and by Rosaria Kingdom as the Crown Prince's Bethroted. May you be blessed by Rosaria herself."
The King's words shocked everyone, even the couple themselves.
Mutterings were heard in the throne room and the news easily spread out like fire not only around Rosaria Kingdom but even out in the other Kingdoms as well.
Jerome looked at Rowan who was just as confused, he felt unsettled. As if there was something wrong.
King Roysce smiled softly at the two, "I would like the two of you to prepare for dinner. It is a celebration after all."
"Thank you, your majesty." The noble man bowed in courtesy but the old man shook his head, "No need for that young man, you'll be my son now... just like my only one here."
The said son looked at his father with a frown and confusion but the King only smiled and walked past them, "I'll see you two later."
