Chapter 3:
Fogbound
They used powers different from anything I'd ever seen in Molar. How had Kokoro crafted such abilites, was beyond me. I don't think their abilities will ever solve the Fog. Midus doomed the entire planet and chose to save only himself.

The train’s vibrations woke me up but I surprisingly had a decent sleep. Unfortunately, I was drenched in sweat. When I asked Chris about a shower he looked at me funny. There were no showers in this world of theirs. The past few hours moved too quickly. One night I was fighting hooligans in the street, then I was drifting in space interacting with a man made out of light, and now I was in a different reality. And supposedly I am a summoned figure from their myths? Chris called my type of people Waijin.
We were supposedly Men/Women whom his people would call upon from to save their land. It was too much to take in, but seeing those flying cards from yesterday proved that I was somewhere not on earth. I walked to the window, and the fog Chris was talking about was there. What I thought were dense clouds turned out to be an outer layer that shrunk with every year, and I was somehow going to save his people. Apparently, I had powers to summon the same fire as the woman did and even more than that; that was what made me special. But I highly doubted him. He told me to wait until we reach his home state, that’s when “I’ll see”.
I shook the thoughts out of my head and began my morning workout, if I am already sweaty I might as well train my body. I took off the shirt they’d given me and thought of what I’d do. I closed my eyes and saw the options in front of me. Jumping squats? No, the ceiling was too low, in place running? Can’t, the train’s momentum would make it inconvenient. I decided I’d follow the reliable stationary workouts, push-ups, squats, and sit ups. So, with my plan decided I began stretching
An hour or so passed and I was sitting, looking at the window, panting for air after finishing. I completed 650 pushups, 900 squats, and 1000 sit ups. I was drenched in sweat and almost cursed myself for going too hard. I heard my door open; I turned my head around and found Beth. Her face turned red and strangely she began to apologize, she turned to leave but hit Chris’s chest instead.
“Good morning,” he says as he lets Beth leave, “We’re almost here. Just an hour before we arrive.” He looked me up and down and gave a curt nod.
“Prefect,” he hands me a pack of what seemed to be bread. “Thanks,” I reply to which he nods again and leaves the room. I stood up and grabbed the jug of water he handed me the night before and drank all of it in one shot. I felt a bit refreshed and completed my cool down routine with stretches.

We were on a carriage going through the streets of Idris – apparently Chris’s family was the governing body of the state, so we were treated like political guests. The buildings outside resembled ones I read about from France’s renaissance period. The architecture was phenomenal; it was intricately detailed and with patterns that looked unreal to exist with their type of technology.
Beth sat next to me and her attention was kept to her notebook. I tried asking about what she was working on, but she was too immersed to hear me. Chris on the other hand was lying back on his chair, taking a nap. He had black spots under his eyes, most likely from spending all night working. Despite his young age, when I first saw him, I thought he was at least 30, turns out we were the same age. I switched my attention to scenery outside and enjoyed it for the remainder of the trip.
When we reached our destination, we were greeted by the most magnificent building I’d ever lay my eyes on. This one resembled a grand Roman hall. With a milky white color showing how clean it was. There were large pillars, at least 40 feet tall. Their sheer size left me momentarily speechless. Whoever had constructed such beauty was an expert in their work. I felt intimidated to be in such place, how could I be granted access to this work of art.
I shook myself out my stupor and followed the pillars leading to a grand entrance. To call this a door was blasphemy; it was a majestic gate. I didn’t even want to admire the intricate carvings that covered this massive canvas.
“I glad you’re impressed,” said Chris as he tapped my shoulder, “but we must keep going. Don’t worry though, you’ll have the entire month to admire everything.” He led us inside and we walked for more than 10 minutes. I thought my house was big, but this needed an entire village population to sustain itself.
We were now in the residenant’s quarters, deep inside the mansion, if I can call it that. Chris showed me where I would be staying then Beth entered the room. Huh? Were we to share rooms?
“Will we be housed together?” I asked Chris. He looked at me confused. After a moment of thinking he replied.
“Yes,” I raised an eyebrow at that?
“Would it be possible for me to have a single room? I am sure Ms. Beth would like to have her own privacy.” Chris thinks at that for a second and he nods to himself.
“Forgive the disrespect, yes that would be possible”
He asked me to follow him. I bowed to Beth before leaving and I swear she looked disappointed? Must be my eyes after that void experience I could not trust anything I saw.
We walked for about 5 minutes, climbing to a different floor and arrived. Chris apologized once more for the incident and assured me it wouldn’t happen again. I tried to let him know that it wasn’t a big deal and changed the subject.
“Anyways, would it possible for you to arrange a bunch of clothes so that I don’t feel out of place? Everyone’s attire is so clean it feels wrong wearing this.” I chuckle at my own awkwardness.
“Most definitely.” He then excused himself and despite the sleep I had earlier, I collapsed on the bed.
