Chapter 13:

Training

The Emotionless

The next day was early morning.

Hiroshi was sleeping with the blanket over his face when, at some point, a figure entered his tent. Hiroshi woke up from the sound of footsteps, as they were heavy and quite loud, but before he could do anything, the figure grabbed him and threw him down onto the floor.

Hiroshi quickly pulled off the blanket and saw his "Master" Rania staring at him as if she were about to eat him raw.

"What do you want? Why are you here? Why did you do that? Don't you see what time it is? Do you think it's right to do this? I don't think a pers—"

"SHUT UP AND GET YOUR ASS UP, WE HAVE TO GO!" Rania yelled.

Rania somehow brought Hiroshi outside, then led him to the same field where everyone trained, but at that moment there was no one there.

Hukuro was already there waiting for them.

"She's here too," Hiroshi said, looking at him.

"Yes, I'll be your trainer, at least I'll try to be."

"Good, thank you."

"Then let's start immediately because we don't have much time."

"At least let me eat something first."

"Later."

"Okay."

Thus began Hiroshi's training.

"So, first we need to know your opponent's strengths and weaknesses so we can prepare accordingly."

"Okay."

A moment of silence, then Hukuro yelled: "BUT DURAAN HAS NO WEAK POINTS! HE'S BEEN WINNING CONSECUTIVELY FOR 9 YEARS, HE'S BEEN STRONG SINCE HE WAS A CHILD!"

"ok."

"But anyway, we need to learn the basics. So first, Hiroshi, lift that sandbag you see there and bring it here, so I can explain the basics of wrestling to you."

"Alright."

Hiroshi went there, crouched down, grabbed the bag and tried to lift it.

Five seconds later: "Hukuro, I can't do it."

"Great, we're really in good shape, Rania."

" ?  :) " (Rania's expression)

Hukuro turned toward her: "Get ready because you'll be getting married very soon, because THIS PERSON CAN'T LIFT THAT BAG THAT WEIGHS AT MOST 20 KG, AND YOU TELL ME HE'LL BEAT DURAAN? IMPOSSIBLE!"

"Nothing is impossible. I at least want to try, then whatever is written in destiny will happen," Hiroshi said while still trying to lift that bag.

Hukuro put his hand on his face and said in a low voice: "Alright, at least let's try."

So Hukuro explained the basics of wrestling to him.

"Let's start with some warm-up."

Ten minutes later: "It's too difficult, my body is giving up on continuing," Hiroshi said, panting.

And so the first day of training ended more or less like this: Hiroshi had only seen the basics, how to maintain balance on the ground, and the effective method for moving. No weights or lifting, just movement.

Second Day

"Hiroshi, I spent all night thinking about how to train you. I've decided that you can never defeat Duraan with strength and technique, so we'll go for speed and agility. Maybe that way you'll be able to prolong the match... MAYBE! But I see victory as difficult. So from today until the match, we'll train on this and your diet will be accordingly too."

So Hukuro started making Hiroshi run throughout the entire village. Hiroshi's speed wasn't extraordinary, but you could say it was normal for an average healthy person. However, his stamina was very low: he couldn't run more than ten minutes at a speed of 6 km per hour.

"COME ON HIROSHI! RUN! COME ON, GO, GO!" Hukuro followed him calmly without any kind of difficulty.

Hiroshi had trouble running and maintaining the pace, but his body was cold and there wasn't even a drop of sweat on his skin. This made Hukuro think.

What kind of person is he? I see him suffering while running, but not even a drop of sweat has come out. No skin reddening from fatigue, steady and calm eyes, normal, as if he's not having any difficulty, but actually he is.

The second day also passed training.

Rania watched them from afar without approaching, because she knew that destiny wouldn't be fair to Hiroshi and that he would lose very brutally without mercy. That's why she didn't want to create false hopes.

Standing there she thought: The laws of this village are harsh and senseless. Because of me, a person I don't even know that well has to struggle day and night.

A moment of silence.

NO! I CAN'T LET THIS HAPPEN, I HAVE TO DO SOMETHING!

Evening came.

"Alright boy, we're good for today. We'll continue tomorrow."

So Hiroshi, now dead tired internally (because externally everything seemed fine), went to his tent to rest.

It was about three in the morning.

Hiroshi was sleeping when a figure entered quietly, approached and tried to wake him carefully. She gave him some pushes. Hiroshi, since he was a light sleeper, woke up quickly, and as soon as he opened his eyes he saw Rania in front of him staring at him with her intense green eyes.

"Rania?" he asked.

Rania stopped him and told him to lower his voice.

"What are you doing here at this hour?"

"Hiroshi, get up, we're going."

"Going where?"

"I'll tell you everything, but first come."

"No, tell me now."

"No, come first, I'll tell you everything."

"Rania, I won't move from here until you tell me something, and if you do anything I'll start screaming."

Rania looked at him with an expression that was both angry and desperate, then said: "I want to leave this place."

"What do you mean, you want to escape?"

"Yes."

"And why?"

"You ask me why and you know perfectly well. I can't stand the rules of this village, and that's why I had left before too."

"I don't think it's the right thing to do, then your parents..."

"I know, but I can't let you suffer because of me."

"Who told you I'm suffering?"

"It's obvious, you can see it with the naked eye! You can't beat him! Hiroshi, why don't you understand? I don't want to put a person in trouble because of me. Come on, get up, let's go."

Rania grabbed his arm but he pulled it back: "No Rania, go to your tent to sleep."

"What are you doing, Hiroshi? I have the cart ready, come on, let's escape."

"I told you: go to sleep."

"If you don't come, I'll escape alone."

"Fine, go alone, but I won't go."

Rania hesitated for a moment, then got up to leave. At that moment Hiroshi said: "I'm not a poet and I don't know how to say reassuring words, but I'll just tell you this: don't worry."

"Actually, I'm going to sleep."

"Good."

Rania left the tent in silence, leaving Hiroshi with his head spinning out of the box.
