“I'm ok,” Dodo gasped weakly. “Just don’t let it touch you!”

Dodging wildly, Nokia leapt over furniture as the Hate’s massive arms whipped across the apartment.

“System” Nokia ordered. “Get me the stats on this thing!”

The Hate slammed its fists down onto Nokia’s apartment floor, splintering the wood.

Nokia dodged through the debris with ease, avoiding any damage.

How can I defeat something that I can’t even touch with my hands? Nokia thought.

“Let’s see,” he said, hovering above the Hate’s head. His eyes flickered as a rush of aura pulsed through his body

Aura PULSE!

A surge of energy burst from his hands, smashing into the Hate’s face. The fibers of its body stretched and fragmented into pieces.

“Nice” Nokia said confidently.

“It can’t be defeated that easily!” Dodo yelled.

Both of them watched in shock as the Hate’s body twisted, reforming back into shape. It had been damaged by Nokia’s attack,but not destroyed.

“Nokia!” Dodo shouted. “Where is your weapon? You won’t be able to defeat it with aura abilities alone!”

“I don’t have any kind of weapon!”

“What?! That doesn’t make sense! Every Influencer has a weapon! We’re given one by the stakeholders. Check your aura card slots!”

“Slots?”

“Yes! That’s how we receive virtual deliveries from the stream execs. The slots allow you to summon physical items—you should have at least one weapon in your inventory!”

“System!” Nokia commanded.

Closing his eyes, Nokia felt a cold rush of aura flood his body, every muscle tightening with power.

“All right… let’s do this!” Nokia roared.

The Hate shot out its long black appendages in a frenzy swarming around Nokia. Spinning like a cyclone, Nokia tumbled through the air, katana glowing. With one fluid motion, he sliced the arms apart—shredding them into a grotesque mess of aura-soaked ribbons that scattered like Swiss cheese across the room.

He had completely dismantled the Hate’s arms. Still midair, Nokia halted his spin, tightened his grip, and unleashed one last rotation—aiming directly for the creature’s neck.

SLASH!

His blade cut clean through. A burst of aura exploded from the sword, tearing into the Hate’s core.

The black mass convulsed as its body began to disintegrate from the inside, pulling itself apart. Within moments, the towering blob collapsed into a thousand tiny droplets that shimmered, then slowly reverted into glowing blue aura.

Nokia hovered, watching as the blue aura pulsed back into him, surging through his body and empowering him further.

“Whoa,” Nokia said, scrolling through the pop-up.

Overwhelmed with his new surge of aura , he completely forgot about Dodo.

“This is only level 3 and I’ve already got so many tools…Wait… Dodo!”

In the corner of the room Dodo sat in the corner alone sulking.

“Dodo?” Nokia said, running over to her. “What’s going on? Are you okay?”

“I… I’m done for,” Dodo said as her voice shook. “It— it took my aura.”

“Wait a minute,” Nokia said, panic flashing in his eyes. “What if I give you some of my aura? I can easily farm it back up.”

Dodo shook her head, tears still streaming. “That’s forbidden among Dreamers. You can’t transfer aura directly… only in the form of gifted subs.”

“Gifted subs?” Nokia muttered, feeling stupid for not knowing.

“It doesn’t matter now anyway,” Dodo cried. “Just know that I’m going to have to work hard to get this aura back.”

“Damnit,” Nokia cursed, guilt twisting in his chest. “I’m sorry this happened. This is all my fault.”

“It’s not your fault,” Dodo said firmly through her sobs. “It’s the Hater’s fault.”

“I’ve never seen a Hate spawn so close to a anyone,”Dodo said “Usually they grow and grow until they’re level 10 or 15. They tend to appear in crowded areas, around high-level influencers. But not like this.”

Dodo looked at Nokia, her voice trembling. “It seems like… you have personal Hates following you around.”

“Personal Hates?” Nokia repeated, scratching the back of his neck. “What do you mean?”

“I don’t know,” Dodo admitted, wiping her eyes. “But it might mean there’s someone out there who specifically hates you. And that hate—it’s causing all of this to happen. That grudge is spreading to others, turning into these monsters.”

Far away in a dark cavern, a man wore ten rings on one hand as he held a crystal ball, watching Nokia on the other side of the world.

“So… you think you understand hate? You believe it is an emotion you can comprehend,” he murmured, voice echoing off the stone.

“Wrong,” he snapped. “Hatred is not something you understand — it is something you feel”

“Nokia Oren.” He spoke leaning closer into the crystal ball, fogging it with his cold breath.

“I will make you understand hate.”
