Chapter 14:
Re:Admin
The vibes in the restaurant totally changed when Lady Reyus got back. Admin was watching everyone like a hawk, and the resistance folks kept their distance. Even though you could cut the tension with a knife, they finished eating and got ready to head to Lady Reyus's place – a trip that could go either way.
Her estate was just outside Arcvon, a huge mansion with fancy gardens and perfect lawns. Servants lined up at the entrance, bowing as Lady Reyus arrived. It was a real show of money and power, which didn't exactly put Admin's crew at ease.
Inside, Lady Reyus led them through halls decked out with expensive art. The air was thick with perfume and the quiet buzz of servants. It was a world of pure luxury, a huge difference from the poverty outside.
Admin, Mirai, Tundra, and Eyrie exchanged looks, all thinking the same thing about the gap between the rich and the poor. They couldn't help but wonder what Lady Reyus was really up to.
The slaves are in the west wing, Lady Reyus said, sounding flat. I've already told them they're going with you.
She took them down some hallways, and the fancy stuff started to fade as they got closer to the west wing. The air got colder, and the only sounds were shuffling feet and soft crying.
Let them go, Admin said, his voice firm. All of them.
Lady Reyus nodded.
Before she could give the order, all hell broke loose. It started with a shout: Attack! For the King!
Suddenly, royal guards in cloaks swarmed into the west wing. Swords flashed, arrows flew, and the freed slaves, with no way to defend themselves, screamed. It was a trap, pulled off perfectly.
Lady Reyus's calm act fell apart. She stood up straight, her eyes flashed red, and she growled. Out of nowhere, she summoned a red axe that glowed with dark energy.
She charged in, swinging the axe with crazy force. People went down, screams filled the air, and the hallway turned into a bloodbath.
Mirai jumped in front of Admin, grabbing her red and black sword. The blade looked ready to go, like it was waiting to do some damage.
Protect Admin! Get them out of here! Now! Reyus yelled, her voice full of authority. The words Get them out of here! stuck into Admin's brain.
Admin, still trying to figure out what was happening, pulled out his smartphone. He might not be super strong, but he could still summon stuff. He grabbed a powerful rifle, ready to cover Lady Reyus and Mirai.
While Kaelen, Elara, and the resistance tried to get the slaves out of the west wing, Mirai stood by Admin, her sword a blur. She blocked arrows and swords, moving like water. She was protecting him, wanting to pay him back, and followed Admin's orders.
Mirai! Let's go! We're getting out of here! Admin yelled, firing his rifle. His shots hit the mark, forcing the guards to hide, buying them time. He was strong with weapons for combat, and now, he had to use his firepower.
But it was too much. As they ran, Admin saw the cost of their escape. Kaelen, Elara, and the others, brave as they were, were taken down by the guards. They fell, looking shocked. The slave resistance, those who wanted freedom, were killed without mercy.
Admin felt guilty, like he was carrying a ton of weight. He had brought them here, promised them a better life. And now, they were gone.
They fought their way out, dodging arrows and swords. As they ran, Admin glanced back. Lady Reyus, a red blur, stood against the guards, her axe a sign of resistance.
Lady Reyus walked out of the estate and leaned against a tree, looking exhausted and upset. She hadn't transformed, hadn't used her full power. But the blood on her hands was real, and she felt the weight of the lives lost.
I... I didn't think it would be like this, she whispered, sounding sorry. I didn't know they'd be so... heartless.
Admin, looking serious, didn't say anything. He was still dealing with the loss of Kaelen and Elara, still shocked that they had walked into an ambush.
Tundra, her TV screen fuzzy, spoke up. They weren't just putting them back into slavery. They were killing them. On purpose.
The truth sank in. These guards weren't just following orders; they were getting rid of anyone who knew too much. That meant they were up against something way worse than they thought.
Admin sighed. So what do we do now?
Eyrie looked up, her big eyes full of hope. Can we find my family? Can you help me?
Everyone nodded.
Admin, looking determined, nodded. Okay. We find Eyrie's family. And then we figure out what's going on here. I'm going to ask for them personally.
The mission is simple: find Eyrie's family. That's it, Admin declared.
Lady Reyus nodded, hiding her guilt and regret. If she were Mishanter at that moment, she would start butchering hundreds and slaughtering thousands.
Find her parents. Got it. Mirai nodded, sharpening her sword.
“Do you have any idea how to find your parents?” Admin asked, ruffling head
“I have no idea. Sorry papa!” Eyrie said, looking sad.
We don't know where they are, so we have to ask people where they are! Tundra spoke.
Admin asked Tundra about her Electric Magic, and Tundra mentioned that I lost it when you gave me that body upgrade, somehow it made me smarter but cost me my electric magic
Admin retorts, I guess that makes sense, always wondered why you never used your electric magic.
Then Admin starts summoning a campsite, using his phone
As Admin summoned the campsite, he gave Lady Reyus a long look. He didn't trust her completely. He knew she was hiding something. But he also knew she had saved his life, risked everything to protect them.
The sadness of the loss hung in the air as they headed towards what they hoped would be Eyrie's family reunion. Admin, though calm, was furious. He would make the people that were responsible pay for the lives they had taken.
Looking determined, Admin said, The mission is clear: find Eyrie's family, but we have to be careful. We need to take this slowly, or we'll lead the enemy right to them.
Lady Reyus, looking composed but with sadness in her eyes, just nodded. The red axe she had summoned felt heavy, a reminder of the blood she had spilled and the lives she couldn't save.
