The Resistance

Both me and Julia were in shock, but excited to have a new friend on our journey. And so we happily welcomed John with us on our journey.

Then John said “Well if you are here there can only be one reason. To defeat Amets!” We all started thinking what to do and John pointed out that the resistance could help, but it would take some convincing to get them to help. We started to make our way to the resistance headquarters and on our way we saw them, the servants to Amets.

They were according to John ghosts, which make them extremely annoying to deal with and they are very dangerous depending on what they possess. One of the ghosts seemed familiar and it was the headless horseman, it was a higher ranked monster than the others and commanded other ghosts.

After a detour around the ghosts I pointed out that they clearly have a kind of command structure. John told us that it is the one that has the strongest possession that is in command and if that one is defeated they all scatter and will be easy to deal with.

After 30 nerve racking minutes we stopped and Julia pointed something out that should have come as a no- brainer to me “We should pray more than we have and rest, it's midnight we haven’t slept in days and we only pray when it’s convenient” And so we prayed for 10 minutes and in the future made it into a constant habit and then we slept for a while whilst some of us kept watch during the night for enemy scouts.

In the morning we arrived and we were at the resistance headquarters. It was very well hidden on a mountain side with a rock you had to push. When we entered it was quite the tense feeling in the air. It didn’t feel like anyone wanted us there, but when they saw John enter they dropped their guards. “John how did it go and who are these people, more fools?” one of them asked. John answered saying “I really don’t have the time to explain, where is the boss?” The man answered “he is in the back”.

We went into the other side of the headquarters and there was a door. John knocked on the door and there came a voice out of there that said “Come in”.

We entered and there was a man with a lot of scars and a low voice that welcomed us saying “John welcome back it’s been a while, what 7 months since you last was here? Who are these children, did they think about picking a fight with Amets, if you did, forget it. Only the knight can win against that monster.” John instantly spoke and said “Thats why im here, he is the knight”. The man slammed the table and shouted “THATS NOT A FUNNY JOKE! Do you know how many have died and how long we have waited, and you're trying to tell me this child is the knight” John said “I didn’t believe it at first till God took action and told me what to do. Matthew draw your Sword”

I drew the Sword of the Spirit and the blade started to glow so bright no one could see in the room. The leader of the resistance was standing in the room shocked and confused. He very quickly apologized and asked for forgiveness.

I told him “Don’t worry I didn’t take it personally you're forgiven, but remember im not the only one you need to ask for forgiveness, repent and follow God our Lord and saviour. He asked if he could have a moment. We left the room and after 45 minutes he called us back. He said “Let's redo our meeting. Hi, my name is Brandon and I'm the leader of the Resistance of Itxaro. Our goal is to win against Amets and free and rebuild our fallen nation of hope. The name of this land Itxaro means hope. So you are the knight we have been waiting for, honestly speaking you aren’t what i expected. So what do you know about this land?” I told him everything. He said that if I have survived against Sol then I definitely will have a hard time because every dark knight will likely be on high alert. “Let’s get your training underway immediately so we can begin planning our schedule on when we will attack Amets”.

Me and John entered into an arena where we would duel. John asked me “Are you ready for a rematch?” and I said Yes.

After we drew our swords John dashed to the right and to the left in a very fast speed that was hard to keep up with and again he had ended up behind me with his sword to my neck. He said, “This technique is a special trick I have made to defeat ghosts. If you can master it, it will help you in defeating Amets” We retired and dueled again, I lost again. We continued again and again.

But in the meantime in the spektator stand was Julia watching along with Brandon. Brandon asked Julia “Are you ok, you haven’t said a word at all since you entered?” Julia answered with a question “Why am I here? I'm just a protector's daughter. Not only am I alone here with Matthew unable to do anything, but I also lost my father in the fight against Sol. What should I do?” Brandon answered her saying “I don’t know why we are here, but I know now that we all have a purpose that God has prepared us for and I know for certain that yours is with the boy. I can't say what, but trust God. And I'm sorry for your loss. I know the feeling, almost everyone here knows loss.” Thank you, I don’t know what else to say” Julia said. Brandon smiled and said let’s observe how the boy does against John.

After many matches my Sword is starting to keep up to Johns, I thought to myself. And then I prayed over the next duel and then next thing I knew I felt strength flow all throughout me and I started to move in ways I didn’t know I could. Then I started to move at the same speed that of a cheetah and the Sword of the Spirit started to glow and made me even stronger than before. And all of a sudden I was behind John with a sword to his neck. I had mastered John’s technique with the help of the Lord. Brandon and Julia started to celebrate in the stands. John was shocked and happy. He immediately pointed out that my prayer was answered immediately by God and that his blessing strengthened me.

I now knew why God said to trust him. He will make it happen if it is meant to be, and he will make a way through everything, both the good and the bad. God told me right after “I will make a way but not always immediately, sometimes it takes time and you need to trust in me”

And so the plan to take down Amets began.
