Chapter Eighty Four : Desperation

The most powerful of all the races. Only one person holds that title. She is no other than the woman I love. 
With just a single word from her. All of this would be over. The king wont be able to hurt me nor the nobles for that matter. All I have to do is go to her and ask for her help.
But the problem now is; how do we go about this?
I removed my cape and gave it to Leila to cover herself. That way the noble after her wont be able to detect her using the magic he placed on her. But the cape only materializes when I’m there. If I were to leave the cave, then the cape will disappear and reappear on my back. Then the noble will find her location.
And at the same time, I cannot go to Lust’s house with her. That would be suicide.
We are safe in the cave for now. But the noble is sure to find us sooner or later. He came to these mountains to get her before. I wouldn’t forget about that if I were him.
The only option left for us; is for me to go to Lust. But that would leave the girls defenseless. Leila has strong magic, but she stands no chance if the opponents are people like the guards I fought. They wouldn’t send anyone weaker than them.
Too many dangerous options to choose from. Do I go to Lust hoping they wont find Leila? Or do I go with them knowing they’ll only get hurt?
It has to be either of these two. I cant take them to town and risk everyone’s lives. It would be too cruel.Besides, that wouldn’t change a thing. The people of that town wouldn’t think twice about handing them over to their pursuers.
No matter how long we stay here, we are bound to get found someday. And even if we go to their hometown, they’ll still find us since it’s still in the continent. Do we leave the continent? But then………. I wouldn’t be able to see Lust again. Etis too. I can never afford that.
My only choice is to ask for help from Lust. If I reach there quickly, I’ll be able to ask for the favor and return in no time. She’d then speak to the king on my behalf. The king would then order the noble to stop his stupidity. 
The crime for hitting a noble in this continent is punishable by death. I’m sure even the king is looking for me right now.
I have no choice. Only Lust can put an end to all of this.
“Stay here until I return. Duddul will stay here to protect you in case anything happens. Get on him and run. I’m going to ask for help.”
Meila looked more worried than ever “Wait! Don’t go! don’t leave us alone!”
“I’ll make it quick! I promise!”
I jumped out of the cave and made my way to the capital. 
Sorry guys. I have to do this. 
I flew with at maximum speed. I don’t want to spend ten minutes on this round trip. I’ll leave the minute I tell her the details. The girls are in danger without me there.
I penetrated the barrier from the southwest direction. Her house should be in a straight line from there. 
I risked getting detected by flying in the same direction as our house which got destroyed, but I couldn’t afford the time to go around.
With the speed I moved, I entered her barrier not more than five minutes after I left the girls. 
I have to hurry!!
I remember her telling me the people behind her assassination attempt. It was the king himself. He sent assassins after her when she was at her weakest state. Just after cleansing herself and was still in the cocoon. She remained silent about that because there is nothing they can do to her. She even went as far as pretending it never happened. The king and his people are so scared of her they are willing to do anything to get rid of her. But because they cant do that; they have to listen to what she says. That’s just how much of a threat she is to the kingdom.
Landing in front of the door to her private chambers, I called out “Are you still here!?” that was where I left her just a little over an hour ago.
I got inside the room and found her on the bed surrounded by purple fog.“What’s she doing?” no, never mind that “I need your help! It’s very urgent!”
The fog covered the whole bed area. I moved closer and was about to get on it when the fog pushed me back making me fall on my back. I never expected that.
“.……………….!!!!???” what just happened!!??
I couldn’t believe what I just witnessed. Impossible!! it was impossible for her to push me back intentionally.
“Hey………. what’s wrong? Are you alright?
She remained silent “…………..” 
I couldn’t see her because of the thick fog, but I knew she was in there.
“Please, I need your help. It’s very important.”
{My help………..?}
Good! She finally replied.
“Yes. Can you………..” I began explaining when she cut me off {I will not do it…. why don’t you ask that chubby girl or that dark elf for help.}
Chubby girl……….. is she by chance referring to Etis? “Wait………. how do you know about Etis? And Liek too?”
That was when I remembered what that doctor said “Whoever did this must be insanely strong.”
“No……… don’t tell me you were the one who harmed Etis……..? Please don’t say that.”
{What about it? All I gave them was a warning. I did neutralize the magic they made contact with didn’t I? they should all be grateful I didn’t take their lives.}
I felt dizzy all of a sudden. I completely lost all reasoning.
“Y-You cant be serious………. you hurt my friends? How can you do that!!!” I lost my temper and yelled at her.
Why didn’t I think about this? An insanely strong person who will poison someone and then neutralize it. Someone who can take a person away and send them out of the barrier instantly……… all these abilities pointed to her.
Using her gate ability, she can instantly bring Etis to her. Then after she’s finished with her, she can read her mind and send her home instantly. All that wouldn’t require much time. 
A warning she said. That was why she gave her the antidote. And Liek too. Why did she have to suffer the same fate?
{You have no shame. How can you yell at me when you are the one who brought it upon yourself. How dare you cheat on me!? how dare you run out of my room calling another girls name!? unforgivable!}
“For that reason……….? you tried to kill them for that reason? How can you do that!? why didn’t you release your anger on me!? what did they ever do to you!! you are just……… a murderer………. I don’t want to see you anymore………………..”
She moaned angrily at my words “GGGNNNN~~~~~~!!!!”
I Walked out of her room and immediately took to the skies. My eyes filled with tears. I never thought she would do something like this. I knew she was the jealous type but I never thought she would play with their lives.
The plan to ask for help was no longer possible. We have to leave the capital when we can.
I flew back in a hurry outside of the capital’s barrier. I didn’t even bother to check our old house to see if there were pursuers there.
I flew and flew until I arrived at the mountains. Before I could fly to the cave, a huge metallic net made it’s way towards me. I quickly dodged it when bolts of fire and lightening chased after me.
It cant be!! they are already here!!!??
Below the mountain where the cave is was an army of magicians and adventurers. There were over fifty of them armed to the fullest.
How did they get here this quickly!? did they use a gate!? “Damn it!!” 
They were there waiting for me to return. That means the girls have already been captured. Their attacks followed me everywhere. Every type of magic was thrown at me. Golems of stones and metals bigger than the mountains punched their heavy fists at every direction I moved. They were meant to serve as decoys. They would attack whenever I dodged the golems. 
I couldn’t afford to play with them any longer than I had to. The king barrier appeared shielding me from their attacks. The black barrier shielded me from powerful magic. I flew above their heads when I picked up one of the attackers and flew up with him. He was in silver armor from head to toe.
“GYA! GYA! Let me go!!” he cried out.
There is only one thing I want to know “Where are the girls!?” I flew very high into the sky.
He was too scared to talk when I asked again “I swear I’ll drop you if you don’t tell me!!”
He gave in seeing there was no hope for him “The castle!! the king asked for them to be brought to him!! don’t drop me, I beg of you!!!”
I believed what he said. People facing death have tendency to not lie. I shifted my hold on his arm to his brown tail. He seemed to be a demi-human. I flew away from the mountain from the direction of the capital I just came from. Two meters to the ground, I dropped him and flew high up.
The castle!? this matter has become far worse than it was before. The king was already in a bad mood to begin with. Now that I have caused a scene in the sacred land, he has every reason to deem me a threat. But that wont stop me. I’ll get them back even if I have to beat him.
I entered the capital from the southwest. Far south from the direction I entered before. This time around, it was closer to the southern gate than the west gate. I would reach the dungeon if I were to continue in a straight line. But that’s not my destination. 
Just as I entered the capital, an object made of light suddenly passed by me. It came from the direction of the sacred land which was still far away. “BAAAM!!!” it exploded right after passing me.
“What was that!!??” but many more came after that. They all seemed to be coming from the sacred land.
It was an explosive magic which was very strong. On a whole different level from the four guards. 
Could it be a hero? Or more knights?
Despite the dangers laying ahead. I increased my speed. It helped me avoid the incoming attacks. I got too close to the sacred land when the sky got dark. Thunderclouds as big as they can get were up above me. It had to be the work of several magicians.
Looking down to the ground, no civilians were outside. The grounds were crawling with fighters all set to get me. 
The thunderbolts needed no time to come raining down on me “KTAA!! KTAA! KTA!KTA!!” I desperately dodged the ones I could dodge when a single strike hit me.
It was so powerful, my king barrier got shattered instantly. My black barrier took over. It struck my barrier very powerfully. The the bolt electrocuted all my bones.
Before I realized it, I was down on the ground. The force pushed me down.
I jumped up instantly the minute the darkness from my barrier faded. The opponents all around me were about to gang up on me. 
“Is that all you’ve got!!” I’ve experienced far worse pain than this.
I continued on the path I was earlier thinking I would be safe inside the barrier. There, five people stood close to each other on the middle level of the tall mountain known as the sacred land. A small boy in light blue clothing was holding his hand up pointing it to the sky. A thunderstorm built up instantly above me.
No………..
I only realized my situation after I saw a familiar figure among them. A human man dressed in pink gear. He was the hero from back then who attacked me and later helped me concerning Leila. Rataradun. There were five of them all together including a woman and the boy.
The people before me were not just average fighters or knights. They were all heroes. The five heroes who remained in the capital to protect it were all gathered to take me down. The lightening attack from earlier which I thought came from several magicians was in fact from that little boy alone. The other heroes haven’t even began attacking yet. I cant win. Not in my powerless state.
I cant afford to get hit by the thunderbolts again. The grounds below me are covered with people out to get me. They’ll attack me the minute I crash down.
Should I use it? The demon sword I received from Lust…….. should I use it? Will its power work against the races even when I cant fight?
The sword she gave me was too dangerous. I took it home that day not knowing where to keep it. She warned me not to let anyone ever touch it. She said that even though it has been sealed using a demonic material, it was still deadly to anyone other than me. I tried keeping it under my bed. It destroyed the floor and sank into the ground. I had to take it back to her for keepsake. Then about a week ago after my fight with the king, I realized that my sword isn’t strong enough to face my opponents anymore. I took it back from her just yesterday because I was planning on going back to the dungeon. I buried it in our backyard until this evening when we packed our things and left the house. It has been on my waist since then. Even when I held the girls close to me, I was cautious enough to not let the touch it by hanging it behind me.
She said the sword was forged from the horns of the demon queen. It should be enough to fight the heroes. But with my sealed strength……. 
“Shit!!” I have to withdraw for now!
It’s already dusk and will be dark soon. I have to wait for the cover of the night to make my way in. Besides, even if I rush now; I still don’t know where they are. The pendant on my neck is useless without any magic.
The thunder bolts started raining down. I used all the concentration I could summon to evade them while thinking of a way to escape. There is no where for me to hide in the capital or the gate towns. 
The lightening bolts curved upwards before touching the ground. The boy controlled them to avoid hitting allies. They ricocheted off the air and bounced back at me from below. New ones came from the thunderclouds above. The wind was fierce like a storm.
As if that wasn’t enough, a huge magic circle glowed above the heroes. The woman was casting her own magic. While I dodged, a huge humanoid monsters with an incredibly small head and large body came out of it. It had chains tied all over it’s huge body with cuts everywhere.
don’t tell me she plans on sending that thing to me!!?? It roared angrily in a berserk state waiting to be released.
As soon as I get hit by lightening and fall to the ground, the monster will jump out from the sacred land and attack me. There doesn’t seem to be a barrier over it.
I have to get away from here. But where…..!!?? that’s it! There is only one place where they cant reach me. A place where they wont find me. The dungeon!
If I were to go to the dungeon, they would be sent to a different level even if they chase after me. They still wont find me even if we are on the same floor because of the dungeon’s setting. Unless we enter together that is……………I quickly turned my attention west.. I’ll have to come up with a plan in the dungeon.
But just as I flew towards the dungeon, a monstrous sound followed behind me. Taking a look at the noise, I saw a huge monster as big as the houses chasing after me in a frenzy.
“What the hell!!??” it knocked over houses with it’s legs. It’s eyes were set on me and nothing could stop it.
For a being that big, it was too fast. If not for my speed, I would have gotten caught by it for sure. It had an incredible jump that allowed it to leap high into the sky. It almost caught me from it’s first jump if I hadn’t increased my speed.
The difference in speed between us was clear after I maxed out. I lost sight of it almost immediately. I didn’t even have time to reduce my speed as I approached the dungeon. I passed through the veil without slowing down.
I crashed into a wall right after “BAAM!!”
Did I make it?
