Chapter 0:

A Premonition and the Demon Talus.

The Gatekeeper Book III: The Realm of the Gods by Andrew Solis.

A Premonition:

A Premonition:Before a realm of darkness there was an angel like being with crushing lightand majestic wings his beauty was unmatched; ‘Behold your overlord, the true Godof this world, Lucifer,” said the Angel. Before this terrifying angel was an army ofdemons, and facing them was a collection of heroes, a tall knight-looking figureglad in all dark armor with metal horns on his helmet, a black cape and piercingred eyes, a muscular man with pointed white hair, pointed ears, fangs and clawsand green eyes, a Buddhist monk with blonde hair and pointed ears, a little boywith red skin, white hair and four fingers on each hand, a giant blue alien with fourfingers each, a man with dark pointed hair and battle armor, a humanoid bear witha sword and a cape, and finally standing in front of these six was one more hero ablonde elf with pointed ears and a sword that was piercingly sharp. He stood beforeeveryone and said to all of them; ‘Ungar..., Talus..., Tashkent,... Sir Rhyme,...Narcis..., General Kesh,.... and my successor and old friend Zaiyal.... Thank youall. I do this for you, I fear you will not see me again but I must tell you I will finishthis fight. God willing we triumph!..............” said the elf. After a long pause hesimply said, “Farewell, my friends,” and he lunged into battle. “You petulant fool.It took God himself to quell me before and I’ve spent billions of years in the fires ofHell because I rebelled against the so-called merciful God. But once I dispose ofyou and your little friends I will once again battle God and his Angels with myarmy of Demons and the Angels who have fallen like myself. I will reclaim mybirthright as the greatest Archangel to ever live. I will become God. And yourdeath will usher in the beginning of the end for this world! So long fool...” said theangel Satan. He releases a beam of light with his fingertips but the young elf keepscharging upwards with his magical blade with his eyes glowing pale white. Luciferand the elf were in a direct collision course with each other and before they struckeach other it all went white. It was a dream of a Polish Catholic boy living inChicago. Nothing more, nothing less.

The previous books: Daniel was a young Catholic freshman in Chicago, his life cut short when he was struck by a truck. When he opened his eyes again, he found himself in the World of Helios, drawn into a destiny he had never imagined. There he met Ungar, a warrior whose visage reminded him of the Death Dealer painting he had admired as a child. Ungar revealed to him the ancient truth: Daniel was now the Gatekeeper, part of an order of champions who guarded the Light against the forces of Darkness. To master this new role, he was placed under the tutelage of Ungar’s own master, the mysterious Ebisu.

In this strange and perilous world, Daniel gathered companions who, like him, carried scars of the past and sought new paths. Zaiyal, proud and fierce, became his rival yet also his trusted ally. Narcis Martreya, a light elf once tempted by shadow, crossed into the cause of good. Tatu, the Wasp Prince, had renounced his former cruelty, and Sarai, once an Izadoran wolf-pirate among the stars, sought redemption at his side. Together they set out to prevent an ancient evil from harnessing the Spirit Blade, a weapon of unmeasured power hidden deep within the enchanted forest of the Spirit Realm. Yet when they reached it, Daniel discovered a betrayal more bitter than any he could imagine—his own father stood behind the plot, orchestrating the theft of the Blade’s power. With the aid of the legendary Sun Wukong, the Monkey King, Daniel triumphed, though the victory was not without sorrow. Ebisu, revealing his true form as a mighty cosmic water dragon, fell, and the shadows surrounding him deepened with time.

Years passed, and the truth emerged. Ebisu had not been master of himself at all but the puppet of Nyathrotep, an ancient king of ruin who had planted his will deep within him. Nyathrotep’s goal was nothing less than the destruction of the mortal world, to offer it up to demons and gods. Daniel, grown stronger through trial and loss, rose against him, and in their terrible clash he made a decision that shattered the boundaries of existence. He restarted the universe itself, a rebirth that preserved creation at the cost of all that was known before. For a time, there was quiet, and peace seemed possible. But already, beyond the fragile calm, a greater darkness stirred. A shadow of vast proportions drew nearer, and to face it Daniel and his companions would be forced to leave Helios behind, stepping into new worlds where their fate—and the fate of all existence—would be decided.

Chapter 1:

The Demon Talus.

“Another day, another victim,” said the demon. He was a demon with paleskin and spiky white hair with green eyes and long claws protruding from the fivefingers on each hand. He had four fangs; two on the upper and lower part of hismouth and large pointy ears like an elf’s but a little larger that were great forhearing. His name was Talus and he was a demon who was born 10,000 years agoout of nothing but pure darkness. This being was not good or evil although hemight appear to be one or the other depending on the circumstance but empty. Inshort this was not a moral or immoral being but an amoral being not interested insurvival but in pleasure. And the only thing that gave Talus pleasure in life was achallenging battle if he died or could die in the battle. Talus did not fear death onebit, he only feared boredom. And today was another boring day. Talus was walkingdown a hallway fitted with skulls. Another demon, an ugly brute with sharp fangsand fungus growing out of his skull walked up to Talus. “Well if it isn’t the littlerunt. You really are a puny piece of pus,” said the monster. “Hehe, you really are afool Grog. Maybe I should teach you another lesson you won’t forget,” said Talus.“You got lucky last time Talus, that's all.” said Grog. Talus smirked and began tolick his lips. “Then why not fight me now?” There was a short pause. “I’m busy, that's why in any event count yourself lucky. I’m outta here, peace!” said Grog.Talus smirked and laughed; ‘if only he provided a suitable challenge,’ he walkedoff to his room where there was plenty of food. The skinny brute despite hisappearance was a glutton and began to eat everything meat, cheese, fruits, vegetables Talus behaved more like a black hole around food than a sentient mortalbeing even considering the fact that he was a shape-shifting wolf demon. Talus feltthat something was missing in his life but he couldn’t put his finger on what it was.As he began to devour large amounts of food. It was just another day for thiscold-hearted wolf demon.Meanwhile on Helios, everyone got together for the wedding of Oliver andLuna. The wedding was held at the old reception hall of Helios University held infront of a giant statue of the Wasp-man warrior Tatu who gave his life in order toprotect the planet from Lord Nyarlathotep. The wedding was a glorious occasionand everyone had a great time. Ungar was there although he didn’t eat anything ashe did not have that capability. Sarai and his wife and Zaiyal and his wife werethere. Narcis was there teaching the many children of Zaiyal, Sarai and Daniel theteachings of the Sutras, and a group of Dwarves were there selling theremerchandise during the wedding ceremony. The sky was beautiful like somethingout of a painting and in the backdrop you could see the ocean and the trees of theforest behind the ceremony blowing in the wind. But Daniel felt that somethingwas wrong, something didn’t feel right during these times of peace. Heremembered what his mother had told him for years; “It’s always the most quietbefore the storm.” That night after the wedding had finished Daniel had a strangedream where the Caterpillar told him that though times were peaceful in theirrealms the experience of others was not so great and to head to the temple ofSumatra in the sky within two days time to learn more about the situation and totell only a few to come with him although the others were entitled to know thosebeing; Sir Rhyme, Ungar, Narcis, Zaiyal and Sarai. He also said that after Danieland the others entered the portal they would no longer have access to theCaterpillar’s council though he did not make it clear why this was. So Daniel toldthe others and in two days time the five of them flew up to Sumatra’s temple in thesky. He told them that a great evil was about to befell the realm of the gods and itwas up to our heroes to stop it. The god Sumatra would open a portal to the realmof the gods but it was up to them to find ‘the Tower of Heaven,’ a giant towerleading straight into the heavens of that realm. Sumatra created the portal and ourheroes entered it. On the other side was a forest and in the distant smoke. It wascoming from a small village in the distance. They knew little of this world and thesun was almost completely down but they knew they had to act.
When our heroes got close they realized it was a horde of monsters possiblydemons ravaging the town. The heroes began to fight them back until they fellback in retreat. For a while there was calm but nearly all the villagers had alreadybeen slaughtered. But one demon appeared the very same that we mentionedbefore; “Talus.” ‘My superiors said some goons were giving them a headache andthat these fools were powerful, they’re words not mine,’ said Talus. ‘And who areyou exactly?’ said Ungar. ‘My name is Talus and I am nothing more than a humblewolf demon, that being said I hope you all prove to be a challenge, I’ve beenchomping at the bit god knows how long’ said Talus. ‘Well I guess today’s yourlucky day,’ said Zaiyal. Talus smirked and in a flash disappeared at nearly lightspeed and kicked Zaiyal directly in the face, the alien stammered back and in angerlunged forward trying to hit the wolf demon but not a single attack would connectSarai jumped in and the two aliens one wolf and one humanoid even at their bestand even at the same time failed to connect a single punch. Sir Rhyme lungedforward with his sword but was taken with a single punch knocking him out cold.Talus spun around and kicked Zaiyal and Sarai down with a single two sided kickto the back of their heads. The two fell to the ground but in their place Narcis theElf appeared behind them wielding the power of Buddhism and martial arts. “Sothis is the power of the warriors who confronted the demon clan, how pitiful...’said Talus. Talus simply appeared behind Narcis hitting him with a single blow thatknocked him out cold a chop to the neck. But Zaiyal and Sarai were not done; theytried to attack him from below and above. Sarai punched Talus into the sky but justas Zaiyal was about to hit him from the air he disappeared and reappeared behindZaiyal and with one punch hit Zaiyal straight into Sarai below and knocked both ofthem out cold. ‘THAT’S IT!’ said Ungar. Ungar manifested a sword and Danieljumped in as well. Ungar was the first to truly connect a punch. Knocking Talusthrough the air and to the ground. He began to slash at Talus and struck him withthe sword and managed to with every stroke release more and more of Talus’crimson blood. Talus was knocked back and then from the back Daniel punchedhim square in the spine. After this Daniel turned around but Ungar had hit squarein the back of the skull. Talus went flying into a large mound of rock in thebackground. Ungar and Daniel stood there but Talus simply got up and started tolaugh. The two of them were confused. “It’s been too long since I’ve had achallenge like this! You too have earned a great honor.” said Talus. As he said thisZaiyal, Sarai and Narcis got up and received full conscientiousness. “It's time youall met your end!” said Talus. He created a large ball of energy which resembled asmall sun from his finger tip. When he did this he stated; “NOW YOU ALL WILLMEET OBLIVION!” Anger began to quell up in Daniel and a spark wasunleashed. Daniel jumped into battle and began punched Talus square in the factimmediately extinguishing the ball of energy. After that blow after blow wasunleashed on the Wolf Demon crimson blood splattering from his mouth. Thebarrage of blows was relentless. Talus was being thrown around like a rag doll. When it was all said and done Talus was still standing there. He lunged forwardand with a single gut punch put Daniel out of commission ending the fight. As thishappened the other demons arrived. "Great, now finish him, Talus!’ After a shortpause Talus simply said I don’t think so. The demons were shocked; “WHAT DIDYOU SAY?!” ‘I’m done with the Demon Clan and I’m taking the boy with me.’He left but as he did at light speed he whispered something to Ungar. Meet me 100kilometers north from here. I have a proposition I want to make. After this Ungarsimply stated ‘and as for the rest of you we know you’re no match for us’; as hesaid this Zaiyal, Sarai and Narcis we’re already standing. The demons needed nogoading; they fled in panic. Ungar explained that they needed to go to where Talushad told them to meet him and they should at least hear out his unforeseenproposition.
Talus arrived with Daniel on the edge of a forest facing a large plateau. Talusplaced Daniel on the group and soon Sir Rhyme, Ungar, Zaiyal, Sarai and Narcis.Talus put the body of Daniel gently on the ground. “Don’t worry he’s fine, he’llwake up within a half an hour,” said Talus. “YOU BASTARD! WHO DO YOUTHINK YOU ARE?!” screamed Sarai. “Sarai, stop.” said Ungar with a boomingvoice. “Who are you? I have neither good or evil in your heart. What are yourintentions? Why did you save the boy?!” said Ungar. “No good or evil,” thoughtSarai. “My feelings are purely selfish. And as for good and evil those concepts areboth equally meaningless to me. What I want is a challenge I’ve wanted for the last500 years, I’m a little over 10,000 give or take,” said Talus. “What are you?!” saidZaiyal. “I’m a wolf demon that is expected to live for about 20,000 years so I’vealready lived half of my life. I’m a shape-shifter though my true form is that of the‘Great White Wolf.’ I was born from nothing in the depths of space. I remembereverything about my birth. A dark cloud appeared and inside it my body createditself. In the exact form you see before you. If you want to know just like yourwizard friend I have no genitals or orifice on my body with the exception of mymouth so I can’t reproduce like other demons. People are generally happy whenthey hear a demon has no libido and no capacity to reproduce because of thehalf-demons that are created from such unions. I could care less but I’ve heardmany half-demons are formidable foes which of course peaks my interest. On topof having no sex drive and no genitals I don’t need to eat food though I love toconsume it always. I have no orifices so my body doesn’t expel food it simply getsconsumed inside of a void in the body. Oh and I love playing with my prey duringa battle to get the most out of them,” said Talus. “Is there anything else you want toknow?” said Talus. “What are your motivations,” said Ungar. “I don’t fear deathand am willing to die happily if it means I can challenge a worthy opponent. Whichbrings me to the boy,” said Talus. After a short pause he continued; ‘the boy hasmore potential of any warrior that I fought in the last 800 years. I want to groomher for battle and then fight him to the death when the boy reaches hisfull-potential. In the mean-time I will help you with whatever you're seeking to do.I have no allegiance to the Demon Clan which is why I so easily discarded them,”said Talus. Sarai was about to say something but Ungar spoke; “I know whatyou’re going to say but don’t worry, we can trust him,” said Ungar. Sarai didn’tevil argue. “Well I guess it’s time to head to the Tower of Heaven, welcome to theteam Talus you have yourself a deal,” said Ungar. “Tch, perfect.” said Talus. Overthe hill was the Tower of Heaven, a giant mesmerizing building that went into thesky when Daniel later opened his eyes and saw it reminded him of those bigfuturistic buildings he remembered seeing in Dubai. But the real journey had onlyjust begun. The Imperial Year was 4545 IC and Grand Admiral Kesh had just come back froma successful campaign against the Londratians. He clicked his fingers on the deskof his ship. He was a curious looking creature. He had dark blueish-green skin withhorns and pointed-ears and he had four fingers on each hand so eight fingers intotal. He had something that resembled the trunk of an elephant, overall he had aquiet demeanor. The campaign was successful and Kesh was quickly climbingthrough the political power structure of the empire. The ship was a splendid sight, material that appeared almost as platinum gold in other words the highest form ofgold was engraved everywhere within the inside of the vessel, the outside was farmore rugged looking. It was literally a city on the movie it appeared as a crowdedindustrious city where there was not only stations for soldiers, but it was at itsfoundation civilizational the families of many of the soldiers came with them aswell and it was abundant in food supplies which were often gathered before acampaign and frozen before consumption years in advance. This was all paid upwith the coffers within the Emperor’s possession, and this power was what Keshcoveted more than anything else. The monitor before him turned on, “Have theLordratians been subdued by General Kesh? Have they been either annihilated, enslaved or brought into the fold of the divine empire.” said the Emperor. “Mylord, as you have instructed the Londratians have been brought into the Imperialford and that’s not all. We have now 600,000,000 more subjects, 400,000 freshslaves, and all of their economic zones as well as most importantly their neoplasmreserves and chronicos which as you know powers many of our most powerfulships,” said Kesh. The Emperor smiled; “Congratulations commander, on a jobwell done. But I have something else you must do for me... go to PlanetAlpha-Centauri and unload all economic supplies and slaves and then after this iscompleted I want you to go approximately 800 light years north east of the planetAlpha Centauri to crush the Plutarch rebellion of Planet S9-XKTerraPrimerXÆA-12 510632 Alpha,” said the Emperor. Kesh was shocked after this he thoughtto himself as he was shaking his fists, “Planet S9? That will take 6 solar months? The Emperor should reward me with no less than five planets and all he does isimmediately send me out to crush rebels at will. I’m tired of being his little lapdog, someday I will stand before him and there will be no question of mysupremacy,” said Kesh. But for now he held his tongue, “My lord, it will be done,”said Kesh. The ship headed to the planet where they would drop off supplies beforeit had to subdue a rebellion several months away.Meanwhile, Daniel’s group continued walking to the Tower of Heaven. ‘So NarcisI noticed at the wedding that you used some abilities that were unbelievable, where’d you learn such abilities?’ said Sir Rhyme. ‘I learned it from Hanuman, the Hindu Monkey god in the Spirit Realm. He was one among many teachers Ihad in that realm,’ said Narcis. ‘In that world I also learned that I am areincarnation of one of the Buddha’s ten principal disciples named Subhuti. If youare familiar with the Buddhist religion you might be familiar with him,’ saidNarcis. ‘No kidding, I knew you were a reincarnation of somebody important inthe Buddhist creed,’ said Ungar. ‘By the way, I have it on good authority that wewill be meeting the Slug Man better known by his Taoist name; Guan Fu.’ saidUngar. ‘Slug man?’ said Talus. ‘Yes the Slug men are a race of man-like beingswith slug like skin and the head of slugs but with the mouth of men. They haveslug eyes at the end of their feelers, another set of smaller feelers above theirmouths and wet skin, etc.” said Ungar. “They are Chinese-style Taoists and a raceof Aliens that are well versed in Taoist Magic and the Martial Arts. Guan Fu is anold friend and he will be meeting us at the tower,” said Ungar. “Oh, I see,” saidTalus. “In any event we should be able to destroy this demonic scourge before ithas the chance to rear its ugly head,” said Sarai. At first Talus began to laugh alittle and then more and more until he was cackling hysterically. “You want me todo such a thing NEVER! I’d rather die than avoid a good fight,” said Talus. “WHYYOU MONSTER! I oughta strike you down where you stand!” said Sarai. “Whydon’t you try your luck then,” said Talus. Before Sarai could lunge at Talus Ungarbellowed out a loud yellow, “ENOUGH! WE’RE HERE!” said Ungar. Before themstood a giant tree behind an intense fog. The great tree was something no one hadnoticed before it was a hybrid between a regular tree and advanced technology. There was a large skyscraper built into the structure of the tree and at the bottomthere appeared to be several elevators. There were creatures crowded around eachother ready to enter the elevators. Daniel knew as soon as they embarked up thistree, “this is it, this is the realm of the gods.”
