Chapter 13:

Chapter 13

My NPC Elf princess wife took me into the game and gave me a harem.

Walking down the tunnel behind Yozora who had conjured a fire ball for light, they reacted to ever kicked stone and drop of water as they journeyed deeper.

"How deep does this go? It must be my Dragonkin instincts but these tight walls are really making me nervous."

Finally seeing a light at the end of the tunnel, Yuna ran forward.

"Yuna wait! We don't know if there are any traps!!"

Calling out to her, Inoue grumbled when she continued forward.

"Great. Come on guys. Guess we're rushing in without a plan."

Running after her, the others hurried as she dissapeared into the lit chamber.

Entering, they saw the small but substantial hill of gold and gems in the corner of the room.

Seeing Yuna dig through it, they walked over.

"I guess there were no traps. You're paranoid worries were for nothing, Darling."

Joining Yuna with the gold and gems, Philomena laughed as Yozora stepped next to him.

"Not to insight worry. But doesn't this seem a tad bit too easy?"

Glancing at her, her took a deep breath as he scanned the room again.

"That's what I'm worried about. There's no way Kobolds didn't make some security measure for their treasure. In my experience in this and other games, Kobolds usualy have some kind of lesser monster guarding their stuff. That's what I assume they stole the cows for. To feed to their guard."

As if on cue, a low, rumble like growl echoed around the chamber, causing both Philomena and Yuna to freeze in fear.

Looking around, they saw nothing until Inoue's head shot upward and he grabbed Yozora, pulling her out of the way as something crashed down from the ceiling.

Pulling Yozora over to Philomena and Yuna, the four of them stared dust plume, waiting for the guard monster to be revealed.

Hearing the growls, Inoue stepped forward, sword in hand.

"Whatever it is. It sounds big."

Moving to stand behind Yuna and Yozora, Philomena clutched her staff tightly.

Emerging from the dust was a large Wyvern. A half lion, half bat monster with a large scorpion tail, it's two front legs combining with it's wings to form claws.

Stalking forward, the Wyvern hissed at them, making bat like noices combined with lion growls.

Positioning himself in front of the group, Inoue twirled his sword as Yuna knocked an arrow and Yozora gripped her tome tightly while taking a stance that showed her readiness to call upon her magic.

Sniffing the air, the Wyvern licked it's lips.

"Guess he's hungry since we saved its lunch."

Inoue grumbled before the Wyvern roared and charged forward.

Running forward a bit before rolling to the side, Inoue kicked one of it's wings, gaining it's attention.

As it turned to face him, Inoue gripped his sword tightly with both hands.

Stalking toward him, the Wyvern growled and lunged at him.

Dodging, Inoue slashed at it and just barely missed but Yuna's arrow pierced one of its wings.

Growling and changing it's attention back to Yuna, Inoue threw his sword at it.

"Look at me, not her you beast!!"

Swiping his sword out of the air with its tail, it walked toward Yuna and the girls.

Firing two more arrows at it, Yuna gasped when it deflected both with its tail as Yozora fired a fireball at it that it ate.

Seeing and hearing all three girls fear as it came ever closer, Inoue ran forward and leapt onto it's back. Grabbing the furry mane around its neck.

As it whipped its head and shook its body in an attempt to shake him off, the Wyvern roared and made high pitched shrieking sounds.

Holding on tight, Inoue used his heels to kick the Wyvern's sides as he pulled on its mane.

"Inoue, I think you're just pissing it off!!"

Knocking another arrow, Yuna and the others gasped when the Wyvern quickly pushed itself onto its back legs, managing to knock Inoue off its back and into the air before using its tail like a bat to send him flying into the cave wall.

"Inoue!!!"

The cries of fear echoed across the chamber as Inoue slammed into the wall and slid to the cave floor limply,

Yuna and Philomena dropped their weapons and ran over to him while Yozora remained frozen in fear, staring at the Wyvern which was still on its hind legs, roaring.

Cradling him and holding his limp head, Yuna gently shook him as Philomena checked for a pulse.

"He's alive, just unconscious."

Breathing a sigh of relief at Philomena's assurance, Yuna held Inoue close as Philomena took a step toward the Wyvern, her tome clutched tightly.

Seeing her, both girls gasped.

"Yozora what are you doing!?!"

"Miss. Tanaka, run! That thing will eat you!!"

Both were torn between staying by Inoue's side and rushing to save Yozora who continued her slow, methodical walk toward the Wyvern, her tome held tightly as she inched closer to the wild, hungry beast.
