My NPC Elf princess wife took me into the game and gave me a harem.
Reaching the town, Yuna and Philomena hopped off the wagon with some jewelry on and some gems in their hands.
"Let's hand in this quest and then figure our what to do with this stuff. You just stay here for a minute, ok Ken?"
Waiting until he squeaked and shook his body, they walked into the guild.
Stepping up to the receptionist, he placed the quest card on the counter that magicaly had a red checkmark on it that wasn't there before.
Picking it up, the receptionist smiled.
"Congratulations on completing your first quest. Here is the reward."
Handing him a large sack of coins, Yuna looked over his shoulder.
"Where did that checkmark come from? It wasn't there before."
"The quest card itself magicaly updates upon completion of the quest objective. Makes all of pur jobs easier then having g to maintain contact with whoever put up the reward for the quest."
As Philomena looked into the sack, Yuna nodded as Yozora stepped up next to Inoue.
"We found some treasure in the Kobold cave. Where would we go to trade or sell it for money?"
The receptionist's cat ears twitched at the mention of treasure.
"Treasure you say? What kind? Artifacts? Rare monster parts? Art or priceless antiques?"
Shaking her head, Yozora glanced at Yuna and Philomena who were talking about what they wanted to eat.
"Gold and gems mainly. With some pretty expensive looking jewelry as well."
Stepping out from behind the counter, she motioned for them to follow.
"Please follow me. The man who deals with analyzing and identifying treasure and monster parts is out back. He is also our cook you see. He can ascertain the value of anything in a single look."
Following her outside and around the building with Ken following, still pulling the wagon.
"Yosuke! Honey!! You have some customers who want to sell."
Bowing to them before walking away, she smiled.
"Please excuse me, I have to return to the guild counter incase any other members need my help."
As she walked away, heavy footsteps echoed from inside the guild, shaking the ground.
All four backed away slightly when a large Orc stepped out from the door that showed the kitchen.
"You must be who my wife was yelling about?"
Looking up at him, they nodded as he walked past them toward the wagon.
"Nice Wyvern."
Watching as he inspected the pile, their original fear and concern faded.
"Hmm... You got some nice gold and some pretty good gems too... The jewelry isn't super high quality but it's not bad either. Where'd you find this stuff?"
He asked, not looking at them as he spoke, continuing instead to scan and seperate the items.
"Some Kobolds had this horded in a cave."
Nodding, the orc grumbled and mumbled to himself.
"I'll give you 3000 Guira for the gold, gems and jewelry. But I want nothing to do with that."
Pointing at the Demon crystal, he glanced at them.
Walking up, Inoue shook his head.
"That's fine. I was going to bring it to the woman that runs the magic shop."
Nodding, the orc led Ken to a set of boxes where he seperated the treasure.
"Morigan, huh? She would probably be interested in it. Ancient magical items are like birthday presents for him. Let me just go grab your payment."
As he walked back into the guild, Philomena and Yuna started cheering at the price.
"3000. What a score. That's incredible for our first quest. Not to mention what we got as the wuest reward. If we keep this up, we'll be rich in no time."
"Yes, what wonderful luck we have. Imagine all of the high quality meat we can buy. Ooh, we'll eat like royalty. Just like when I was back home. Oh, Darling. I told you that we were meant for this life."
Shaking her head, Yozora walked over to them, clicking her tongue as Ken joined her.
"Now now, girls. We have to save some of that money. We still don't have a home of our own so we'll still be living at the tavern. And besides. Only fools waste all of their money as soon as they get it."
Hanging their heads, they apologized as Inoue took the payment from the Orc and handed it to Yozora.
"Here, do you mind keeping our money safe?"
Shaking her head, she quickly put the sack inside her yukata.
"Not at all, Dear. These two wont be waisting our money with me watching."
"If you ever come across any more treasure or even some monster parts. Bring them to me. I'll give you a good deal. Names Garrok by the way."
Shaking his hand, Inoue nodded.
"Inoue. We will. Thanks again, Garrok."
Grunting in reply, he returned to the guild, leaving them alone in the dark.
Picking up the Demon crystal, Inoue grunted, fatigue from the day catching up to him.
"You three head to the tavern and get us a room and some food. I'll take this to the magic shop."
Looking at him, Philomena stepped forward.
"You're sure that you dont want anyone to go with you? I can tag along."
Shaking his head, he fixed the crystal in his arms.
"I'm ok. You can go on ahead with them. Me and Ken can handle this, right?"
Squeaking in reply, Ken stood loyally by his side.
"We'll take the milk with us Inoue."
"I'll make sure that they don't cause trouble, Dear."
"Just hurry back, Darling. And be safe."
Walking toward the magic shop with Ken at his side, he looked at the crystal once more. Feeling despair and anger flowing from it which seemed to be getting stronger the closer they got to the shop.
