Case #3: Conclusion

After receiving the hint from Leo, the party returned to the Vice Captain's office and began to decipher the three ledges left behind by Henry.

Two of the ledgers contain the transaction details:
Beastkin's Name, Gender, & Age
Date of Transaction 
Purchased Amount
Purchaser's Name 

The last ledgers contain all of the Prime Minister's evil deeds for the past decade, which included the type of poison used to keep the Third Princess in her sleep all this time. As it turned out, Henry wasn't a big fan of his either.

Henry discovered that the reason for his dismissal from the Royal Guard was part of the Prime Minister's plan to force him into doing his bidding. During this time, Henry's grandson was extremely ill and needed money for treatment, so once he was fired, he was desperate to obtain money. The Prime Minister offered him a job that would require him to infiltrate Naga and to destroy or use them for his vendetta. 


"HOW CROOKED IS THIS PRIME MINISTER!!!" Elias yelled, getting upset by the gruesome content of the third ledger detailing bribery, kidnapping, enslavement, and assistance. "HOW BLIND ARE THE KING & QUEEN OF CREMONIA?!!?" 

"When the Prime Minister had saved their daughter, they must have placed their full trust in him," Ana stated, "Maybe that's why they are so blind to all of this?", trying to find reasons for the lack of action. 

"What should we do now?" Alexis asked, "If we do anything rash, we could ignite a war, which is exactly what the Prime Minister wants." 

The crowd quickly turned and looked at Haruno, who was still re-reading the testimonies left behind by the civilians. 

"This doesn't make sense," Haruno muttered, "Why are they addressing him as that?" 

"Haruno, are you listening to us?" Emila asked, squatting down, "What are you doing?" she inquired. 

"Oh....nothing," Haruno answered, quickly shuffling the testimony paper around. "Regarding the Prime Minister, here is my plan of action," she handed a thick stack of paper to Emila to show everyone. 

After reviewing the detailed plan, everyone had a concerned and fearful look as they stared back at Haruno, who was poking Fubuki's pink tummy as she slept in a basket. 

"Haruno, how confident are you about this plan?" Elisa asked, "This isn't something that could be stopped once we start, do you understand?" she warned. 

"If you don't believe it, you can ignore it," Haruno stated, "As I mentioned before, I am not a Soldier or Knight, so I don't can't force you to believe it. I can only provide you my assumption as a Detective," she clarified, standing up, "As a Captain & Princess of this Kingdom, you have to make that choice to trust me or not," she walked over to Elias and stared at her.

"I understand," Elias answered, seeing no signs of misjudgment in Haruno's eyes. "Let me discuss this with my father, and will proceed from there," as the crowd dismissed for the night. 


Two weeks later, at the Order of Valkyrie's emergency access gate, the Order was completing its final preparations to set off to Cremonia to serve as the King's envoy regarding the incident that had occurred. 

"I'm here as requested, Haruno, Emila," Mio greeted as she landed nearby, sending the horses into a frenzy state with her presence. "How was my daughter?" she asked.

"I believe she had a lot of fun inside the city," Haruno said, placing Fubuki on Mio's back. "She should be well enough for this journey, and Emila will be there in case she gets hurt," she assured. 

"We will be in your care, Emila," Mio turned to Emila. "I hope it won't be as bad as Haruno predicts," she stated with a concerned tone of voice.

"I hope so, too," Emila answered, as she slowly walked forward and embraced Mio's beautiful silver fur. "You smell so nice as always, Mama," she muttered, as she slowly drifted off to sleep from exhaustion.

Emila, for the past two weeks, has been working long days & nights to brew the antidote potion for the Third princess to wake her up. Haruno's plan had included instructions that required Emila's presence during the administration process to help assess any emergency that may occur. 

"You can sleep on my back while we travel to Cremonia if you would like," Mio offered, lowering her body onto the ground. "You can hold on tight to my fur, and also hold onto Fubuki, so she doesn't fly off either," as Emila began to climb up, tuck Fubuki in her arms, and fell asleep. 

"G-Good Morning, your ma-" Elisa attempted to greet Mio before feeling a sudden intense glare. "I mean, Good Morning Mio," she quickly corrected herself. 

"I'm happy you remember my request, Elias," Mio greeted as she slowly stood up. "It seems like you are doing well, too, Ana, Alexis," she greeted the others. 

"It's wonderful to see you again," Ana greeted as the two stared at each other for a few seconds before laughing. "It seems like our daughter has a big task for all of us," she stated, removing a tear of joy from her eyes. 

"It seems so," Mio agreed, "Alexis, were you able to procure all the things Haruno requested?" 

"Yes, of course!" Alexis assured, "May I ask what these are for?" as she reached down to her waist, where two special magic sacks were filled with specially cooked food from the Royal Chefs, and ordered food from the other shops around the Kingdom. 

"Since we will be in Cremonia, I plan on stopping by to visit two old friends," Mio answered, "It'll be good to reconnect with them as it's been at least two decades since we last met. Not to mention, I want to inform them of a possible battle that may occur inside their territories." 

"Wait.....friends?" Alexis questions, "If it's the Fenrirs' friends and they are located in Cremonia, are you talking about the Gryphon and Leviathan?" 

"Yes, that is correct," Mio answered, "The food is a gift for them as they often enjoy human food once in a while, especially the Leviathan, seeing as he can't leave the deep subterranean lake without causing a mess." She laughed, recalling the time he accidentally destroyed an entire village by climbing out. 

"A-A-Ahahaha," Alexis laughed, "I need to protect these magic sacks with my life or else I'm going to be served as food," she muttered, tightening the belt around her waist.

"Haruno, I left the things you asked for at my dwelling with my children watching them," Mio said, "Feel free to swing by anytime." 

"I will," Haruno said. "Please stay safe," she said, walking over and giving her a big hug. 

"As long as I'm not fighting you, I should be safe," Mio stated, with everyone laughing. 

"OKAY, LET'S GO!" Elias ordered as they began to head out. 

"Please do not worry about any monsters or bandit attacks during this journey," Mio assured Elias, "Half of my children will be traveling with us and thinning out the monsters inside the forest as we travel. This is part of their training to act without me in the future," she explained. 

"T-Thank you," Elias thanked, realizing they were being escorted for once, and by a legendary monster. 

Haruno continued to wave goodbye to the Order until the drawbridge was fully raised. She proceeded to turn around and, with a serious look, said, "Now then, it's my turn to get to work," as she slowly walked away. 

This expedition would later lead to a legendary battle involving three legendary monsters: Fenrir, Gryphon, and Leviathan, battling an Archdemon, dubbed: The Return of the Kings.

After traveling for three days, the Order of Valkyrie arrived in the Kingdom of Cremonia and met with the King while Alexis was out, busy making rounds with Mio. After presenting the Prime Minister's evil deeds to the King, Emila, Ana, & Elias were immediately arrested and thrown into a cell on charges of conspiring against the Kingdom. 

It turns out that the Prime Minister has already placed the King & the Queen under some sort of bewitchment and begun acting as the King for the past two years. 

As of now, Haruno's plan has been spot on so far regarding the possibility of the King & Queen being under some sort of spell or effect.

Thanks to a fellow conspirator who also noticed the irrational behavior of the King & Queen, they were locked in a special cell that led to an emergency passage within the castle. From there, the three were able to rescue the slumbering Third Princess from her room and escape outside the Kingdom's walls. After awakening the Third Princess and filling her in, they proceeded to meet with the leaders of the conspirators, the Second Prince & First Princess, who were believed to have died during an accident a year ago. The three were finally reunited after many years apart from each other and were determined to rescue their parents & the Kingdom from the Prime Minister. 

After providing the detailed attack plan created by Haruno, the Prince & Princesses were extremely impressed by how detailed it was. They were extremely amazed that the plan had also included the assistance of three legendary monsters: Fenrir, Gryphon, and Leviathan. 

Haruno had asked Mio what would be the best way to request assistance from the Gryphon & Leviathan during this fight, as they are also prideful monsters that will not get involved with human affairs either. Mio had mentioned how much of a food snob they were, as they were getting bored with eating the same bland food all the time, especially Leviathan. This led to Haruno devising a plan to bribe them with exquisite cuisine and requesting their assistance as payment after consuming it.

The two prideful monsters had two conditions to participate in this fight: 

First Condition:
The Kingdom of Cremonia must offer bountiful, exquisite cuisine once a year.

Second Condition:
Haruno must also give them names & the Kingdom of Cremonia will be properly addressed by them.  (They were jealous that Mio & her daughter, Fubuki, had a proper name to be called by) 

The Prince & Princesses swore they would fulfill the first conditions once they saved the Kingdom, but the second condition posed a problem, as Haruno wasn't there. 

Regarding the second condition, Emila informed Haruno telepathically regarding their condition, to which she disclosed Haruno's reply,  word-for-word, "I can't give a name to someone I have never met. I only gave Mio & Fubuki their names after meeting them, seeing their personality. I'll have to come by another time to think of one, and of course, after beating the hell out of you all first," 

Ana, Elias, and Alexis immediately started apologizing for Haruno's response, and the Prince & Princesses stood in shock to hear someone threaten two legendary monsters.

This taunt from Haruno made the Gyphon & Leviathan burst into laughter to think a human had just challenged them. Mio quickly discloses how strong Haruno is in terms of raw power, and could easily shatter her ice wall with a single punch, stopping their laughter. The two recalled how thick and strong her ice walls were, and to think a single human could destroy them only ignited an eagerness to fight this human. 

With both of their conditions fulfilled, the two legendary monsters agree to assist with their entire kin acting as support during the fight. 

Two nights later, the plan was finally placed into motion as they stormed the castle with the Prince & Princesses leading the charge. Due to Mio's children's mere presence, the Knights & Soldiers were quickly subdued, as they lost their will to fight, allowing them to reach the Prime Minister easily. When the Princes & Princesses confronted the Prime Minister about his actions, he was shortly silenced and slaughtered by his partner, an Archdemon.

The Archdemon quickly began to summon its kin, ordering them to attack everyone inside the Kingdom and burning it to the ground. The Second Prince & Princess quickly attempt to subdue the Archemon, but are easily swatted away by his large wings. The fight continues with Ana, Elias, Alexis, and Emila joining, but they were also taken out shortly afterward. The Archdemon decided to focus his attention on Emila, determining she was the biggest threat in the room after taking her attacks, and grabbed her by the neck. Fubuki immediately jumped onto the Archdemon's right arm and started to bite down on it, attempting to stop him before getting sent flying into the wall. Fubuki kept standing up and continued her attacks, each time being sent flying, taking severe attacks, with Emila pleading with her to stop. At this time, Fubuki awoke a new, unique skill: Theia's Light of Protection, healing everyone bathing her glow and sending the Archdemon fleeing outside as his skin burned. Before the Archdemon recovered from his sight, he was sent flying outside the Kingdom from Mio's tackle and landed in a field by the subterranean lake, where the Leviathan & Gryphon were waiting, furiously. 

As the leader of each pack, it is their sworn oath to eliminate any demons that dare to threaten the balance of this world once again. The battle against the Archdemon became extremely chaotic as each of the legendary monsters' attacks shook the sky & ground with large water spouts appearing from the lake, giant twisters slamming onto the ground as it descended down from clouds, and giant ice pillars froze the air. The Archdemon was pushed to its limits and attempted to leave by using his kin as a shield by summoning them, but no one appeared. What he failed to realize was that the children of these legendary monsters were busy eliminating his kin during this commotion, and he was the only one remaining. 

The Archdemon offered his final words, "My end was foretold, before I appeared, wasn't it?" as he laughed, realizing how prepared the humans & the Legendary Kings were in terms of this fight. In a final combo attack, the Leviathan encased the Archdemon inside a large water bubble, Mio froze it solid, and the Gryphon grinded it down into tiny pieces with multiple twister attacks from all angles.

Once the Archdemon was defeated, the fight was officially over, and the reign of the Prime Minister ended. 

The King & Queen were released from their bewitchment thanks to Emila's special potion and were briefed on what had occurred over the past few years. 

A few days later, the King & Queen publicly apologized for their failure to protect the people and took responsibility by abdicating the throne immediately, with the Second Prince, Lartoas Von Cremonia, succeeding them. 

The New King's first act was to disclose all of the evil doing the Prime Minister had conducted in the past decade, stating he would personally be overseeing the purge of those who collaborated with him. He went on to publicly clear Rex Kalos' name from Cremonia's history and publicly apologized for his wrongful execution. 

Later on that night, Lartoas gave Ana an official request to be given to the King of Teralisa, a request that Leo Kalos be released from his cell and brought back to Cremonia to be adopted into the Royal Family. Lartoas wanted to make some sort of amends for killing his father and hoped he could at least act as his adopted father in a way. 

A few days later, Ana & Emila had returned home riding Mio to give the good news to Leo.

Leo immediately rejected the New King's request, calling it a pitiful gesture to make amends. He went on to declare that his only father is Raul Kartos with a happy smile, realizing his father's name was finally cleared after all this time.

The following morning, Haruno would discover Leo dead in his bed with a dead venomous centipede on the ground nearby. Leo had injected himself with venom and ended his life to be reunited with his father, finally.
