The End

Kevin jolted awake, confused as to what just happened.

It felt like he slept for such a long time, he sat up while holding his hand and that's when it occured to him.

"I... I was Jerome... Jerome Wright... That's... Just a dream...?" He kept looking around, even his room seems to be unfamiliar.

Even his memories as Kevin felt very foreign.

And lastly, he felt so heavy, especially in his heart. He felt so hurt, and in so much pain that he could only cry, practically sob as he embraced himself.

All he could think about was Rowan, everything was still vivid as if it just happened a few hours ago.

After a while, he calmed down and he looked at his phone.

The novel was still on it but it has a different ending.

'The Melancholy King one day disappeared after he executed the previous king, his father, who abdicated his crown and surrendered his title to his son.

The End.'

Kevin was confused, "He... disappeared?" He tried to refresh the page but it suddenly became an error.

He tried to search in a different website but everytime he does, there are no results at all.

"Huh?" He was very confused and also, depressed.

He already got separated with Rowan, he doesn't want the only remaining connection between them to disappear.

Kevin immediately took his jacket and stormed off to Jaz's house.

After a good ten minutes or so, he barged into Jaz's room, saying a simple, 'Hi, Auntie!' to his friends' mother.

"Jaz!" Kevin exclaimed as soon as he opened his room door making the said man groan and wake up.

"What are you waking me up and barging in for? I swear this should be a crime..." He yawned and sat up while Kevin sat on his bed.

"Do you know the novel, "The Most Eccentric King"? You know, my favorite?" Kevin asked and Jaz looked at him as if he was ridiculous.

"What novel are you talking about?"

"What...?" Kevin was even more confused.

"Y-You know! That famous one! With Rowan Lennox as the main protagonist!"

"What the heck are you talking about? I think you got the wrong title or something or a wrong novel name... plus there's no such famous novel... I'm not even a fan of those, I never read one." Jaz said before laying down again, going back to sleep.

Kevin was shocked, he remembered Jaz reading it with him, he remembered that it was so famous even those who aren't familiar with novels ended up reading it.

Kevin was devastated, confused and heartbroken, his only reminder of Rowan. It's gone.

"Okay... Thanks..." He stood up and left the room and out of Jaz's house.

He kept walking without any direction in his mind.

He kept thinking about how all of he experienced were for nothing, his feelings for Rowan only left him empty now.

Kevin teared up while looking down which made him bump into someone.

"Oh! I-I'm sorry..." He couldn't even look up, embarrassed of how he was crying in the middle of the park.

He didn't even noticed how he got there.

"You shouldn't be crying Princess..."

Kevin's eyes widened and he looked up only to see a familiar face but with a brown hair.

"Rowan...?"

The said Rowan chuckled, "My name here is Steven... yours?"

Kevin teared up once more but he smiled, "Kevin..."

Rowan, who is now called Steven, chuckled again, "We have quite a farfetched name from our previous life, huh?"

Kevin embraced him, "I-I thought you were gone for good..." He cried.

Steven caressed his hair, "I wished that I could continue being happy with you Jerome... without any of these... titles." he gently lifted the other man's head by his cheeks so that he can look up at him.

"Can I?" He asked with a smile.

Kevin chukled as he cried, "Yes..."

Steven also smiled, "Can I kiss you?"

The shorter nodded, which gave the other man the go signal to kiss him.

And somewhere in the heavenly universe, Rosaria and her lover watched the two loving men from above, glad to be of assistance, so that what happened to them won't happen again.

"I only wished to be happy, not to be a king... He said in his first life, so, the soul connected to him from all timelines... the man who got cursed by dark magic and led him away from his beloved... I used my remaining power in mortal world to help them..." Rosaria kept her gaze on them.

"I protected Jerome... or Kevin... with a bit of barrier but since it was meant for Jerome to leave that plane... I assisted Rowan... or Steven on his final wish... to be happy with the man he loved without any titles..."

"It must've been difficult when the universe itself chose to separate you away from your beloved..." Rosaria's lover, whose name is Jenille muttered but smiled at her.

"Yes... and so, I will do what I can to make us meet in any universe."

Rosaria looked at Jenille, holding her hand.

"Even when gods separate us every time." She kissed her hand.
