Chapter 16:

CHAPTER 16

Stalked, Isekaid, Stalked Again

A thorn sprouts from the ground. It pierces one of the cultists. The pierced cultist turns into a ball of thorn floating in the air.

Another thorn sprouts from the ground. Another cultist turns into a ball of thorn. Both ball of thorns combine to become a bigger ball of thorns.

More thorns from the ground. More ball of thorns combine into a bigger one. It gets bigger and bigger.

The ball of thorn explodes. The flying thorns pass through us. That must be a side effect of the cutscene to prevent accidental death before the fight starts. Thank goodness for that.

From the explosion, a humanoid female creature is floating. She has large guava leaves as her wings. Her head is a bovine’s head. Each one of her horns is full of vines. On one of her hand is a spear.

DETAIL CHECK
Ominilia the Demonic Fey

Okay. We can move now.

First, there are thorns around 1 meter long stabbed to the ground around us. This will block our movements. Second, I have no idea what kind of combo can we do as a team.

Apparently, Ominilia can summon a floating thorn out of nothing.

She fires the floating thorn towards Salty Ray. Good thing he can catch it. At the same time, Timothy shoots electric at her. Clean hit.

That’s not enough to take Ominilia out. She summons several thorns then fire it at both men. Salty Ray keeps parrying the thorns while Timothy summons a stone wall to block the shot.

Now that I think about it, Wanda is technically out in the open.

I summon solid steam to cover her. Then, I pull out one of the thorn on the ground. My aim: Ominilia.

Hit!

That slows down Ominilia’s barrage, which leaves a breathing room for Salty Ray. He uses this chance to fire a rocket punch towards the half Fey.

Hit!

Electric from Timothy. Hit!

She’s not down yet. I throw another thorn. Of course it hits!

DETAIL CHECK
Initializing phase 2.

Ominilia is having a… stomach pain?

“O brother. We art damned in this filthy blood. Let the soil take mine.”

A thorn stabs Ominilia from behind. She pukes out black liquid into the ground. Filth oozes out of her liquid refuse. The half Demon stabs her puke with her spear. The puke burns. So does the spear. The vines on her horns lit up in flames. The fire spreads to her wings.

Ominilia stands tall.

“Let me be pure of Fey.”

This boss just dives to stab me with her spear. Luckily for me, I managed to catch it with my hands. However the boss pushes me so hard that I hit and broke my solid steam wall.

At the same time, Ominilia keeps summoning thorns that flies toward Salty Ray. He is doing everything he can to protect his vital organs.

Timothy fires electric. As a payback, Ominilia flaps her wings. The fire from her wings spread to Timothy. The Wizard is burning.

All that’s left is me, and I can barely hold this spear!

Suddenly, a thorn stabs Ominilia from the side.

It’s Wanda! She took one of the thorn stuck on the ground! I’m glad that she’s not that defenseless. She’s simply lack a weapon to fight.

Ominilia fires a thorn to Wanda’s chest.

I use this chance to pushback Ominilia’s spear. Ominilia doesn’t want to back down. She pushes back!

A hand punches Ominilia’s face! Nice!

Salty Ray’s body is riddled with thorn. He sacrified himself to deliver that blow. I won’t waste it!

I push Ominilia until she’s off-balance. With that opening, I deliver a spiky and burning fist straight to the spot between her two horns! And another punch! Another! One more!

WE WIN! This ragtag group of randos win against a Demon!

Ominilia the Demonic Fey

The wound on Wanda’s body is fully healed. Salty Ray’s body is whole again. Timothy recovered from second degree burn. Good thing that I brought them. If I fought this alone, I would’ve died.

Salty Ray laughs. Then, Timothy. Wanda giggles a little bit. I can’t help but to join them. Salty laughs harder. Oh? He wants to compete eh? I’ll laugh even harder!

That was fun. If I knew that having a party can be this fun, I would’ve done so earlier. I want to tell mom that I’ve made new friends during a hard time. Mom doesn’t need to know that it involves a life-or-death matter. All she needs to know is that I’m out there with new friends.
