Chapter 14:

Chapter 13

The One Uniting: Era of Monsters

It took some time, especially for Drin, for the elevator to arrive. But when it had reached level 10, Drin was the first one to rush out of it. With a twisted expression he watched the door closing and finally, the elevator going up. Luna: What’s wrong with him? Don’t tell me – Luna grinned. Luna: Maybe that’s the reason he was so talk active in the car! Drin’s expression eased down, a little bit.

'You can chill now, Drin!’, Luna uttered and gave him a light clap on the back. Luna’s worry made Drin smirk. Unfortunately, this one didn’t end as beautiful as the previous one before. It was by far worse. ‘Stop this creepy grin!’, Luna added, gazing away. This kind of face gave her creeps. Luna: Seems like the other smile was pure luck! Drin ceased the smirk and instead, tried imitating the face of a sweet, wounded puppy. Big mistake! Luna and the other reacted with a:

‘Ihhh!’ and moved away from Drin. As Drin saw their grossed face, he stopped and stiffly pointed his finger at the light shining brightly at the end of the shady hallway.

‘And can we go now?’, he requested with low tone. Half-smirking, Luna strolled past Drin towards the source of the light.

‘Then, let’s go meet the rest of the team.’, she uttered.

When the group arrived at the end of the path, they entered a room full of people who turned to them the moment they heard their steps. There were about 50 people in the room. The walls of the room were made off ebony, an expensive one considering its beauty and smooth. There weren’t any windows, but it didn’t smell bad thanks to the air systems installed in the walls. At the end of the room there was an enormous, round and black table. There wasn’t any other furniture to be seen in the room The group, waiting in the room, welcomed Drin and the others synchronously:

‘Welcome!’ Just like when Luna had welcomed Mr. Maida, this welcome also appeared exaggerated to Drin. Again, Mr. Maida blushed.

‘Please, stop. It’s too much. I don’t like you doing it.’ Mr. Maida’s words didn’t match his bright expression. He was surely savouring this moment, but who wouldn’t! ‘Drin’, Mr. Maida called out, pointing his arm towards him, ‘if you may.’ Drin nodded and stepped forward.

‘Hey, I’m Drin. Because of some circumstances I was forced to come here. Maybe, we will even have to work together. This is everything that I can say for now.’ Luna: I doubt there’s even much more to say!

‘You’re truly wise, Drin!’ Mr. Maida commented, passing with his fingers through his beard. ‘We still don’t know each other well. Only a fool would reveal everything about himself.’ A flicker smirk formed on Drin’s face and some doubt on Luna’s. Luna: He and wise? I’m sure it wasn’t his intention to appear wise! And isn’t he already a fool for being here? Next, Mr. Maida pointed at Luna and went on: ‘Luna informed me about the enemy. We don’t know what his true goal was but what we know is that he had some kind of connection to JUDGE. Well, I will have Cole investigate that. If something important comes up, I’ll inform you all. If I don’t, consider that affair done!’

One person stepped forward, his cold gaze on Drin. He tucked both hands into his baggy dark grey pants. That man heighted 1.88m. He was certainly trained; however, he rather had a slim body. He came off more like a model than a fighter. Very eye-catching were his glowing blue eyes, seeming to exude coldness. His skin was pale letting his hair which was cut on the sides appear even blacker than it should. He wore black baggy pants, a black jacket and a white tight shirt.

‘So you fought the boss and came out unwounded!’ Others nodded. Drin pointed at several parts of his clothes that had gotten burned during the fight and his hands. However, the wounds themselves had already healed.

‘I got hurt badly during the fight.’, Drin defended. To make it more credible, he displayed his wounded puppy face again. Luna: Oh, shit! Not again! In the room, a small laughter broke out. Mr. Maida and Jasmin stayed reserved, whereas Luna simply shook her head. Luna: What is wrong with him? Only the man who had confronted Drin a minute ago didn't seem to like what Drin had said and especially, done. He hissed and mumbled:

‘Another weirdo! Well, I’ll see for myself!’ Suddenly, the temperature in the room dropped and it kept falling with every second passing by. Near the man it was the coldest. Withe mist arose from his body. The floor beneath him started freezing and so did his hands too. With little steps, he advanced towards Drin, freezing the floor beneath him. He stretched out his hand after Drin. ‘Are you, his lover?’, he demanded, one eyebrow raised, surprised about the fact that he was stopped by Luna instead of Mr. Maida or Jasmin whose job it was to normally intervene in such a situation. Full of hope, Drin awaited the reply. But Luna didn’t seem like she was going to say yes, her cold impression was enough proving, but an even bigger prove was her reply:

‘He’s Mr. Maida’s guest, that’s enough as reason. If you want to fight him, you’ll have to get past me first!’ Luna stood before the man, but not in a fighting-stance. Instead, she let go off the man’s hand and put both hands in her pant giving the man enough opportunities to strike her at any moment.

As Drin saw this, he got confronted with an agonizing headache again. However, he did not let it show. Again pictures, pictures Drin didn't understand, flashed in his head. They were the same images as before. Meanwhile, Luna still stood before the man, whereas the rest were just watching. And looking at their wide smiles or the sweet some were taking out from – I don’t even know myself – help wouldn’t come any minute.

‘You think you can do everything, because you are the boss of our group?’, the man demanded. Drin forgot about his headache when he heard that comment. Drin: She can’t be the boss, not when she is weak as shit! Luna took notice of Drin's troubled gaze on her, surely due the note of the man. She anticipated what Drin was thinking and made something clear:

‘Drin, I know what you are thinking right know, but know one thing – What you saw wasn’t me in my best form! In addition, I haven’t eaten for several days.’ Drin: Blablabla!

‘Then prove how strong you are!’, the man intervened with a lot of aggressiveness. Drin nodded in agreement and insisted:

‘You heard him, Luna!’ As Luna saw Drin’s reaction, she hissed. Luna: Drin, you bastard! The temperature in the whole room had long dropped to zero Celsius and it was still dropping. The other people in the room started shivering, some even freezing. The right hand of the man was completely covered in light blue ice. He raised his hand in the air and froze it. He froze it so that the frozen air took on the shape of a sharp, long blade.

‘Ice-blade!’, he muttered while gripping it and continued to speak: ‘If I were to be the boss of our group, a lot of things would change. It’s because of you that he was able to escape last time.’ Drin: Who is he?
