Chapter 29:

CHAPTER 29

Stalked, Isekaid, Stalked Again

My floating words haven’t downloaded everything yet, but I can access what’s available. It’s quite fascinating actually. One of them is the blue armors. Apparently, it was made using Lapis Lazarus, a very rare minerals in this world. In fact, the Ambrousian Empire mined all of them and fashioned them as armors to fight against the Dwarvel. Yeah! Dwarvel is actually here in World Number 39. Unfortunately, most of Dwarvel was wiped out. It was speculated that there are some Dwarvel in this world, but no one seems to be able to find them.

After that eradication, Ambrousia found out that Adventurers can use the armor to spy on the entire empire. That’s why the armors were also sealed using a Keyward Stone. It’s to stop them from being used by anyone else. They also ensured that there was no Adventurers in Low Leyline Point to make sure that no one would accidentally use the armor.

The armors weren’t destroyed because they’re one of the most durable and hardest materials in this world. It just so happen that the empire also wants to stop Fey from spreading. The portal, Low Leyline Point, cannot be destroyed. Some Feys must go through that portal to reach this world while some don’t. The Ambrous Knight was stationed there to kill any Feys that use the portal.

Speaking of portal. Low Leyline Point actually transports spores from Feys original world. One of the spores creates Contractuary. If I can take Bread Village, I can defend it to spread the anti-contract-spell tree while fighting against upcoming wave of Feys. In fiction, this is basically the sequel bait. Not exactly subtle if I dare say so myself.

Interestingly, silver is an abundant mineral in Ambrousia. Before making Lapis Lazuli armor, they made silver armor first. The silver cant exactly be programmed, but they can all be tracked down by Lapis Lazuli. Perfect! I can know every soldier that the empire has! They can’t sneak up on me if they’re wearing any silver!

Oh! I got a new information. It’s about Ambrousian Empire.

Apparently, the empire has six official colonies under it with a few more under way. In the mainland, they even have Tyfobius which… is essentially a nuclear bomb with magic. If I were to take over Bread Village, there’s no doubt that the empire will either send the colonials or Tyfobius after us. Considering Ambrousian’s violent history, they will do this. If it hits me, I might be able to come back, but for everyone else around me? That’s a death sentence for them.

The best option for us is a bunker. There is a massive bunker under Bread Village. It was made for Ambrousian that cannot revive to seek shelter when they detonate Tyfobius. It is one of the thing that I can access as an Adventurer using Lapis Lazarus so it shouldn’t be a problem. Getting there is the problem.

Curiously, no one knows what is inside Tyfobius. It was made by Dwarvel as a diplomatic gift, but Ambrousian was afraid that Dwarvel was secretly making a new one, so they exterminated as many Dwarvel as they can find. So it is possible that the Tyfobius is a dud. The only way to know is to detonate it, and I don’t want to be the receiving end of it if I don’t even know what it does. For all I know, it could turn the whole detonation zone into a volcano.

As I look around the data, I find it curious that I can actually control nearby obsidian with this suit. With this, I can open up the wall to enter Bread Village! Fascinating. The only problem is the turrets. They will fire at me non-stop. My only hope right now is to use Steam Sapien to hide myself, but even then it might not be enough.

Wait a minute! Can I use this suit to gain knowledge about my subclasses?

I can!

Okay. I already know everything about Dwarvel and Steam Sapien. So does Cubic Leash. The harmonica… yes! I have something new! The Gaslight Bard subclass can actually store the gasses and illusions that the harmonica absorbed as long as the wearer does not take it off. The stored materials can be released from the wearer’s location! So, I can make as many steam using Steam Sapien as I can. Then, I can make a wider steam to cover more area! I can also cover my allies if we’re marching to the village!

Wait. Can steam from Steam Sapien blocks the turret’s tracking system?

Apparently, it’s fifty fifty in this case. I have to bet it all in this case.

That seems to cover everything. I’ll let my floating words to continue download…

Ah! There’s one more thing! Let’s see if I can find it…

Here it is!

According to the data, when someone wears a Lapis Lazuli armor, their tracking is automatically activated. An Adventurer can turn off tracking in Lapis Lazarus but they need to keep wearing them. If they give the deactivated armor to someone else, the tracking will be active again. In other words, I can’t do the same to the Nostra brothers’ armor. The blades are stored inside the gauntlets. It is possible to take it out the blade then use it as swords. The blades themselves have no tracking on them. Okay. Good enough for the brothers.

That seems to be everything I have at the moment. I should wait for more data to be downloaded. If I want to fill the time, my only option is to talk to the Barbarian. I… never even know his name.

Take a deep breath. I cannot freak out like last time. I am an adult. I must be mature. I can do this!

“What’s your name?” I ask him.

“Aurelius. I do not remember my last name. It’s possible that the contract spell accidentally made me forget.”

Okay. So far so good. Keep going!

“Did you miss your life?”

“Before all of this? I suppose so. Although, I have to admit that I cannot remember everything. All I can remember is I was in an airport with my wife and kids.”

Wait what?! Nooo!

“They were there to say goodbye before I go to a business meeting overseas. I do not know if they survived or not. I did not see them here. I hope that’s a sign that they are alive and well over there.”

Is he fair game? It sounds wrong if I become more than just a friend to him.

“Before that, there were two men that were slashed before me.”

Wait. If I recall correctly, wasn’t Salty Ray killed in an airport too? Does that mean that Timothy also came from the same world? Funny how all male Adventurers with me came from the same place. I should ask him a bit more.

“What is your World Number?” I ask. “Mine is 1.”

“I believe that it is 2. I am not sure what it does actually.”

“Let me see if I can get any data on that.”

Apparently, there is a data about it! Adventurers from World Number 2 can manipulate gravity. The exact ability depends on the Adventurers. Some can make themselves lighter, some make other people heavier and so on.

“It’s gravity,” I say.

“Gravity? Let me see if there is anything I can do with it.”

He jumps. Nothing. Throws a punch. Nothing. Put a foot on the bark of a tree. He can’t walk vertically. Out of idea, he looks at me.

“Can you give me your hand?”

“Yes!”

Aurelius extends his hand. “Whenever you’re ready, touch my hand.”

My hand trembles. This is embarrassing! I’ve killed Demons and Feys! I should be able to do this! Why am I so pathetic?!

If it wasn’t for the armor, our skins would’ve touched. Despite that, I feel something different. As a test, I run for a bit. This confirms my suspicion.

“It made me lighter,” I say.

“So this is the ability granted by World Number 2 to me. Interesting.”

Wait. With this gravity ability, I can lead the march towards Bread Village while spreading my steam much faster! I Sweet! With every information, it becomes easier and easier to take over that military base.

Ah! It’s them! Nostrades and Nostreidon! They’re fine! They still have their suits on but that’s okay. I’ll tell them to only take the blades.

Oh. Oh no. He’s here too.

My stalker.
