Chapter 31:

Chapter 30

Accidentally Turning an Otome Game into a Yuri One!

What does ‘our perfect ending’ look like?

I had some ideas, and I think Yui did too, but we never discussed what it would look like - perhaps that was for the best for us, and Yui and Victoria.

Victoria seemed content with her feelings for me, and she may or may not have desired to, as Yuri would say, ‘level up’ our relationship. Naturally, I obliged but outside of play, we were very close friends.

Yui renewed her oath to me, with slightly amended words:

“I once pledged to become someone worthy to be by your side, Onee-sama. I swore I would become someone you can trust, to fight alongside you and protect you.” She smiled proudly before me. “I hereby swear that I shall forever be yours and I shall stand by your side no matter what.”

Well, I would never let her or Victoria leave my side.

My knight and my pet.

What, then, was Yuri?

My wife.

At least, that’s what I’d make her.

I loved all 3, but Yuri was the most special one in my heart - if only just slightly.

The other girls understood, but they’d never know the true reasons why.

How Yuri suddenly appeared one morning.

How she told me of the future.

Of how she helped me save Lord Cain, gain Victoria’s heart, help re-educate Lord Michael, became the most important person in Yui’s life, and how if it hadn’t been for Yuri, I’d be dead.

There was always a chance that could happen as we were still nearly 3 years away from the original story’s ending, and I’d had a few ‘close calls’ with the future emperor and others.

Lord Cain was hardly favourable of me. Lord Michael might still try something drastic to get Victoria back. Ah-Rahm and his blushing bride were watching me very, very closely and meticulously analysing my every move.

If they deemed me a substantial threat, it could mean the end of me.

While I had cleared the first few hurdles, my life would be far longer than any story or ‘game’.

“Well, it’s still a good life.”

“What are you muttering about?”

“It’s nothing, Yu-” I smiled. “You made your choice then?”

“Y-yeah.” She looked nervous. “Are you disappointed?”

I shook my head. “That’s not it. If this is your decision, then I’ll support it. After all, I love you, no matter what you look like.”

“T-thank you.” Oh my, that is an intense blush. “God, it’s going to take so long to get used to this.”

I giggled. “I might not look it, but I feel the same.”

“Really?”

“Nope.”

“R-Raena!”

Yuri leapt at me and tried to hit me, but she did no damage to me; if anything, her little attempt made her super cute.

“So? Who are you?”

“Eh?”

“Are you the fairy or Yuri Nakamura?”

Smiling proudly, Yuri pushed her green hair behind her ear and said, “I am Yuri Nakamura. Well, Yuri Nakamura died once but she’s been reborn into this world. The old me died, but she’s still with me.

“Like you said, no matter what face I have, I’m still me.”

“That’s an excellent answer.” I cupped her cheek, and we kissed. “…It does still feel weird.”

“Right?! B-but I didn’t hate it.”

“Neither did I.”

Onee-sama!”

Suddenly, like a bolt of lightning, Yui appeared, put herself between us and kissed me for an extended period of time.

“Hey, Yui! What the Hell are you doing?!”

Yui released my lips and yelled, “That’s my line, Yuri! Why do you get to kiss her first in the morning?!”
“Ha~?!”

“What!? Is it wrong that I deserve to go first every day?”

“Y-you little-! How did you turn out this way?! You were so cute and sweet when you were young, but I guess puberty hit you like a bitch.”

“Well, you yourself were much cuter when you were pint size!”

“Oh, yeah, so you could crush me with your big gorilla hands, you demon! Oni! Heroine!”

“Why are your retorts always so nonsensical?! How am I meant to argue when you don’t speak sense?!”

Oh my, that popped a vein in Yuri’s forehead.

“You-!” She conjured magical energy in her palms. “You wanna go, you damn sis-con?!”

Yui drew her sword. “Gladly, you dim-witted canary!”

I couldn’t help but laugh at that one, which seemed to bring the girls back to their senses.

Just in time it seems.

“Master! I brought the carriage around!”

“…Victoria, you…” I sighed and offered my hands to Yui and Yuri. “Shall we go?”

They raced to grab my hands.

As we took our seats in the carriage, Yuri beside me and Yui and Victoria across from us, the former tiny fairy started laughing to herself.

“What?”

Yuri leant in close and whispered, “I just remembered what you said when we first met about harem endings.”

“Oh, right, back then.” I actually felt somewhat embarrassed which made Yuri beam. “What can I say? I was just a little girl back then.” I smirked and lifted her chin up gently. “That’s not the only thing I’ve changed my mind on from back then.”

Yuri took a second to process what I had said and then her body went scarlet. I leaned forward, kissed her cheek and spoke softly into her ear. “I’m a selfish, arrogant and devilish villainess who takes everything and anything she wants. That includes you. I’ll never let you or them go for the rest of our lives.” I blew in her ear and she screamed, making me laugh. “You best prepare yourself, Yuri.”

Flustered but clearly not backing down from my challenge, she tried to smile in a mocking manner at me.

“I won’t let you get your way, Raena!”

What the future holds and what our perfect ending looks like, I don’t know, but I’m glad my life has gone the way it has.

And I’m happy to walk towards the future with all of you.
