OUTBREAK

I went to Elia last night, and she was happy I was there. Today, she was over the moon and even gave me a kiss before I came here. I feel like I'm living a married life... Marriage, huh? It would be nice to officially marry the four of them. Anyway, that's one thing. Today, I have visitors from another land to see. I also need to ask Elia if she can mass-produce the wings she gifted me. If we do trade with other countries, then this would make a good profit, as anyone can use them. After regaining my memories, flying without the wings came naturally . But not everyone can fly, and with human nature, I'm sure there's not a human out there who wouldn't want to fly.

The group of foreigners arrives, and Rukito meets them. They say their reason for visiting is due to the massive earthquake that happened. The group of people joined up in Tingyun after traveling through a few other places to investigate the cause, as it seemed to have happened across the globe. They were shocked to see the architecture here, as it's not only intact but also seems that the catastrophe never occurred here. They did, however, hear about the war that took place. Rukito explained briefly what happened, leaving out the part that he merged two realms.

               "Your Majesty, do you have any clue as to what could have caused this to happen?"

When I merged the two realms, I did it knowing the destruction it would cause throughout the country. But who knew it affected the entire globe? If that's true , the world population is reduced to about 20%, depending on the countermeasures for each region. I can't make it known that I caused this. They may not believe that it was the doing of the king I killed either. Let's just see what they have to say first.

"I'm just as uninformed as you, but if I had to speculate, I might suggest it could have been a conflict." Do you happen to know anyone or anything that can cause planetary destruction? "It could be an entity that exists somewhere."

      "It may not be relevant now, but in history, there were stories of demons. Demons are said to be so strong that they could wipe out a city with their newborns . Kid demons were capable of destroying countries . It is said that the demons invaded countless worlds, and the strongest of them could destroy planets with ease. It is also said that the demon king can destroy the universe if he wants. The humans, back in the day, were way stronger and worked together to push back the demons. The hero that was summoned was said to be equal to the demon king in power. He pushed back the demon king with his army and sealed the demon realm. After that era, humans had their own conflicts, and slowly, as time passed, no one was born as strong as their ancestors back then."

"I did hear about the war, but never about the power of the demons. It makes me wonder if I can beat them. But if the demons were sealed, only a global catastrophe- ah, I mean only someone who can destroy a planet-could loosen the seal, driving the world to chaos."     

If what Lee Yang said is true, the seal may have loosened. If that's true, I need to start training the capable ones of this country. If I have to, I'll have no choice but to study the full extent of aether. Connecting humans to the tree as well can boost their power as well as give them the ability to use aether. As long as they train, we will be ready for everything. If demons do come, that would be on me, as I'm responsible for this catastrophe. Hopefully, something like that won't happen. 

       "Demons are way out of our league . There is another matter at hand that needs to be discussed. We are also here to request aid as we are in need of food supplies, as well as first aid for the injured. Thanks to our mages acting quickly, there were not as many casualties as in some other countries. But with the way things are, we have a lack of healers."

"What's in it for me ? You have come asking for aid, but nothing in this world is free."

      "What is it that you want in return, Your Majesty ?"

"For my people, I will do everything because they are loyal to me. If your countries can merge under my rule, that is what I propose."

        "Even if we say yes, our king would never agree to this. My apologies for being rude, but isn't that crossing the line?"

"A country in need cannot have cake and eat it too , but you make a fair point: no king will give up his rule. Fine then, tell your kings that I, Rukito, will ensure that I will have all citizens back to full health as long as they agree to become vassal states. You may not know this , but we can regrow severed limbs. That means that as long as someone is alive, we can get them to 100% health. You want aid? We offer the best aid for a small price."

The five of them thought about it and told Rukito that they would need to inform their king and would get back to the matter as they are representatives and can't make a big decision themselves . They will send word when they go back. Rukito sent a guide with them as they wanted to go sightseeing before they left. Rukito plans on using the need for help as a means to form a new world order. He , however, does not plan on taking any more land through violence as he needs to uphold his image for the country.   

A few days later; "Reporting to Your Majesty (cough, cough) Sorry. As I was saying, I sent them, and they will soon return safely."

"I see. Did they say anything about me while you were with them?"

       "Ah yes. (Cough.) They did say, after they finished meeting with you, that they could feel you had a powerful aura and that girl Sema was a bit scared at first."

"Hmm, Sebus, do you feel I am scary?"

           "No, you always talk to us as if we are on your level and never scold us, but you do let the intensity of your power show (cough)."

"You seem to be sick. Why don't you take the day off and rest ? "

          "I would have, but I can't, as everyone else took the day off, so I need to fill in for them."

" Okay, wear a mask or something so you don't make everyone else sick, and tomorrow go see a doctor."

That day I assumed it was just a few people who may have gotten sick. But when I did more digging, it seems that an epidemic had broken out. I quickly acted and passed a law for everyone to use masks. At first, it was just flu symptoms, but after that , people's blood vessels began exploding. The outbreak of this virus is too sudden. It all started after the people from the other country came here. Could they have carried it here? They may have been asymptomatic. I need to find a cure for the virus fast.
