Chapter 27:
Can the Villain Become a Hero in Another World?
Maxwell awoke to see the Rei was still unconscious. Freya had healed all that she could but it was up to Rei now whether she would wake up or not.
Whatever King Midas was planning it would soon be upon them. If Elizabeth was still alive she already knew what he had planned.
Hopefully the thought of loosing Rei wouldn’t distract her from fulfilling her role.
The fire was a set back but it changed nothing of what Maxwell was planning. Victory was almost his.
He revealed in the thought of seeing Dulciena‘s royal family get taken down a step. To introduce them to the work of a true master mind.
It was nightfall by the time he’d come up the formula that would change this world forever.
The goblin’s leader sent for him. They were able to acquire all the tools and equipment he’d requested.
Although a bit crude, he worked with far less back on earth.
He couldn’t tell how much time had passed as he worked in the bellowing heat of the goblin’s nest. He’d grown used to the heat, the smell on the other had made him want to puke every now and then.
Six goblins came pulling in the most important parts to his plan.
“It looks like I will be able to unlock the secrets of your healing factor.”
The ogre corpse was still in good condition, a few pieces had been eaten by something but there was little to no decay.
He’d figured the ogre would have decomposed a lot slower, but this was better than he’d ever imagined.
He cut and dismembered till the ogre’s corpse had been reduced to pounds of flesh, tissue and bone.
Vials of the ogres blood were scattered throughout his makeshift laboratory. Each one contained the precious ingredient that would make his plan a success.
With more time he could have created something to rival even the gods of this world, but for now he’d have to settle for a king.
His calculations were flawless, the formula he’d created was like the sweetest of melodies. It sung to him as he worked, faster and faster.
It wanted to be unleashed upon this world, to bring not just Dulciena but all the kingdoms to their knees.
Any second now, and the fall of King Midas would be inevitable.
Was this what it felt like to be a god, before unleashed a biblical plague to wipe out an entire race of people? Was this how it felt to unleash a barrage of thunder bolts or to create a hurricane?
Maximus had spent his life protecting this world from people like Mexwell, yet he failed to stop the true villians who were standing right in front of him.
How many of the kingdoms were just like Dulciena? And how many kings were just like King Midas?
If evil is what rules this world then he’d become the most evil being this world has ever known.
It was in that moment that he finally finished the serum, all that he needed were a test subject.
