Chapter 46:

The Hero and the Saintess

A Prayer for the Reincarnated Moon Princess

The main church in Silverhold was full of people. The newly appointed high priest Soren was standing before the statue of the holy saintess. Before him, the holy saintess, the Moon Princess Lena, was standing. Her dress was now not dark, but sky-blue. Next to her, a young man was standing, dressed in heavy armor, a long sword hanging on his back. They held their hands, and Soren was now wrapping a velvet crimson ribbon around them.

Leonard felt strange. He was marrying the most powerful person in the Lunaria kingdom. Even though it was a marriage of convenience, he still felt excited. He promised himself he would become much stronger, and once the predicted calamity comes, he will fight with all his might.

“The holy saintess looks so beautiful in that dress,” women gossiped.

“Her first husband, the high priest, died so soon after their wedding. Poor girl.”

“Look at the statue, her mouth peeking from the veil is smiling. This must be a sign from the heavens themselves!”

“Good thing she’s wed again, and to a proper man. The kingdom can’t go on without a ruler,” one of the men standing near said. “We never know if other countries decide to attack us and steal our holy saintess.”

“The Silgorod lost their siege, but there are also others.”

Mira smirked, listening to the common folks gossiping instead of praying. She turned to Kasian, tugging at his sleeve like a small child. He looked at her.

“Why are you making such a face?” he asked her.

“Because our Leonard is marrying the holy saintess. I thought he would refuse. He looked like a type to marry only the girl he loves. This arranged marriage is a complete façade.”

“What do you know?” Kasian replied, “Maybe he loves her.”

He loved her in his previous life, after all…
