And then I realized in front of me, there stood… 5 meters tall… White Wolf with some pattern on its forehead and body.

He looks so haughty, smiling while looking down upon me.

So… he ate Kon’s body… and mutated, huh?

I looked at my hand that is holding the knife Hiromu-san left. He was someone I saw on the bus, so probably all the victims of that accident with the JSDF truck are sent here.

“Kh…!” I dashed and tried to stab its leg with the knife Hiromu-san left.

*Clack* it doesn’t penetrate at all. The wolf sniffed at me, smirking and didn’t do anything.

I’m really pissed off now. Is it because of this wolf? Is it because of the self-proclaimed god? Or is it because of myself who can’t protect the one I cherished?

The wolf went straight to smack some rubbles and launched them to… Yumemi!?

I dashed so fast that I overspeed the rubbles and snatched Yumemi from the trajectories.

I immediately unlocked a skill and got it to level 4…? I don”t know how, but thanks to that I made it in time to save Yumemi.

I looked at our party list, and as I guessed, Yumemi also chose to level up and is now sorting her memories.

And then, I saw Kon’s… turned gray…

Kon must’ve been protecting us…

But… I don’t want to lose anyone important to me…!

“GRRR!!!”

The wolf growled and sent some rubbles towards us. I then dodged another rubbles flying towards us, and grabbed Kon’s head in the midst of that.

I don’t have any time to check on how skills work, but I believe that’s to help me carrying Yumemi like this.

The wolf then started to dash at us at high speed, and I barely dodged him thanks to my new learned [Dash].

I finally realized that my SP is decreasing, maybe because it is a skill that consumes SP.

That means I had to hold out until Yumemi woke up and fought together. I mean, I can’t let her use teleport that may take her own life, since the only potion I have left is to recover SP.

The wolf dashed at us again, and I tried to dodge it by going under it. I’ve passed through, but *thwack* The tail hit my back, making me lose hold of Yumemi and Kon’s head.

I tried to stand up and regain my composure, but the wolf tackled me and sent me flying to the wall.

My HP dropped to 40 percent with just two attacks…

If I get hit one more time while it is serious, I would probably die…

I don’t need any of those flashback lanterns since I’ve just refreshed my memories in a sense.

And then… a sudden light envelops my left arm, so bright it blinds me and the wolf.

And for some reason, there is now a gauntlet on my left arm…

And then, some light particles entered the gauntlet from a direction. When I looked at it, Kon’s head from distance turned into light particles flying in my direction, and some came from the wolf’s belly too.

The wolf looked calm, and smiled for some reason. Like it is giving me time.

Why didn’t he attack me…? Moreover, he sat down like a domesticated dog, waiting for something in ease.

I looked at my status panel, and found out I got a lot of points in all my status, especially for SP.

My job went from [Irregular] becoming [Irregular Hero - Spirit Tamer] for some reason… What does that even mean?

I also got some skills I don’t have much time to read about, then I looked at the item… Spirit Gauntlet, and found out something.

Kon’s name is on the tab labeled [Spirit List].

I tapped the name, and then a notification popped out.

[Summon Kon?]

Of course it is [Yes]

Some light particles assembled above the gauntlet, and slowly formed the shape of a fox.

And then, it appeared… a cute deformed anime mascot-like Kon, landed on my palm and then ran up to my shoulder.

“Huh? Is that you, Kon?”

“Yep! It is me, Yuuma!” Kon said in a prideful voice.

“You’re alive, Kon!” I snuggled his cheek with mine. He’s so squishy.

“I wouldn’t really phrase it that way, but I’m back!”

“Is that so…? Wait, I can understand what you said!” Even though my [Foxlingual] level didn’t level up!

“I think it is because I’m now your… Familiar Spirit? I’m not sure, but that’s what I think I am now!”

“Hey, isn’t that too vague? Anyway, I never thought I would be able to see you again…”

“Hff.” The wolf sniffed at us, or more, to Kon.

We were so deep in reunion, that I forgot how dare the situation is.

“Yeah, sorry to make you wait, bastard! It’s time for round two!” Kon said.

Kon hopped down and stood up in front of the wolf. He was so big just a moment ago in body size, and now he has become small like when we first met.

Yet… I feel like his back is so big, like he has no more hesitation.

What actually happened between the two of them, that the wolf is willing to wait for us to talk?

I don’t know, but Kon must’ve done something that made the wolf willing to wait.

“Yuuma! Use [Spirit Evolution] on me!”

Uh… skills, huh. Let’s see, Spirit Evolution… maybe I just shout the name to trigger it?

“SPIRIT EVOLUTION!” I shouted, then a notification popped out again.
