Chapter 12:

Chapter 12 - Human unpredictability

I Refuse to be bored in another world

With my new revelation of Discordia’s sadistic character, I now realized why she reminds me of Imani so much. The questionable actions and glaring, to the unnerving motivations she holds.

“I realllyyy like how your brain works Toshiro.” She coddled my face. Her warms hands would be pleasant if she hadn’t stabbed and paralyzed. “I will take you as my pet.”

“P- PET!?” I was taken far aback. Never have I heard such a statement. I shook my head in decline.

Wait, I can move my head now? It appeared the paralyzation was somewhat worn off.

“You can fight me all you like.” She her hips jumped on me again. “It makes this all the sweeter.”

I cringed. I could smell her hormones emanating off her body, she was dangerously turned on by my decline.

I don't know what to do.

I'm straddled by a sadist, paralyzed from the chest down. Even if I could knock her off, she still has a knife, and my wound would likely make my movements sluggish.

Wait... My wound and the knife... I side-eye with my peripheral vison the knife in the Goddess’s head, dripping her blue blood.

“I- I am willing to become your pet...”

“Huh? That’s no fun if you just agree-”

“But!” I stopped her words, seeing the disappointment shift in her eyes terrified me more than the lust. “I want to know. Where are we taking the Goddess?”

“Oh?” Discordia’s eyes lit up, passion ablaze. “You can read me so well! Knowing I plan to take the Goddess’s corpse.”

I didn’t, I was trying to be dark and meant throw her body away.

This works better for a long-term plan.

“Of course, my master.” I cringed at my own words, Discordia taking delight. “I want to be most useful to you! I want you to reward me for a good job.”

I can’t talk sexy! I could barely flirt with my Ex!

“Hm...” My smooth talk was working. “Okay, my little puppy. I’ll tell you.”

I recoiled. Discordia made herself at home with my neck, arching her body over me as she nibbled. I could feel her teeth, playfully biting to full on sucking on my skin, leaving hickeys.

“I want us to take the Goddess to the Demon King. And we’ll soon have peace across the realms.” she whispered sensually into my ears.

Eh? My itch was scratched.

Discordia had her fun nibbling now on my ear. Her hand slide into my shirt, my body retracted as she played with my sensitive nipples.

She works for the demon king!? My brain was in a loop.

Not only did I miss her sadistic personality but know there's a whole new faction I know now. I really should have taken that meditative walk in the woods, there is too much for my brain to process.

“M- My queen.” I stuttered. Discordia is too distracted to care. “If I may ask, could I get that healing potion? It would be best to leave now rather than enjoying our night in this god forsaken place.”

“Hm?” She perked up, our eyes meeting. Her smile widened once more. “I’m so glad to have such a well thinking pet. Yes, we really should get a move on. We can enjoy ourselves in our lordship’s castle.”

The demon king is too cliché.

“But I can’t heal you know, you may have a little plan cooked up in that head of yours.”

What!? Me!? I am impressed she recognizes that part of myself, even in her hormonal state of mind.

Discordia finally freed me from her pleasure straddle, making her way to the open door she had made.

FWEEEEET

Discordia did a loud whistle, echoing through the night air. With her back to me now, I started my plan. Tilting my moveable head, I angled my face right below the Goddess, a drip of blood rolled down my cheek.

A loud whooshing sound could now be heard, a dangerous wind felt familiar, reminding me of Gideon and his small army's arrival.

Another dragon!?

I almost allowed the appearance of a black beast now at the open window distract me. I opened my mouth wide, right under the blade’s handle as it dripped.

“Heh, heh.” Discordia chuckled to the presence of the dark scaled dragon.

Its size was the same as Gideons, it also had its own straddle for a rider. There was a notable cargo space on its back, I can assume that's how Discordia was able to get so many barrels here.

“The town seems to be fearing its final days. Is this your doing Discordia?” The dragon voiced its words, unmoving of its mouth but the pressure was undeniable in its deep tone.

It... It can talk...

“Hm. No Doran. It appears the revered Gideon has found our little Goddess and has threatened the town. We’ll bring her back to our lord, we wouldn’t want to leave her body to waste.”

“Hm...’ The dragon let his eyes wander, scaring me. “What’s with that questionable man over there?”

Doran seemed taken aback by my current actions.

“Him? He is my pet.” She squirmed, fascinated by the fact. “One that is so entertaining...”

“Hm...” Doran was now concerned. “Your “pet” has a weird way of entertaining himself.”

“Whatever do you mean-” She turned around, dumbfounded.

The two stared at me, unable to say a word. Another drip of the Goddess’s blue essence fell onto my tongue, pooling into a small puddle. I met their gazes, closing my mouth.

As they tried to process the sight, I swallowed the mouth full of blood.

“Uh... Em... Huh...?” Discordia mumbled, her eyes darted around trying to figure me out with confusion tripping her mind. “WAIT!!!”

Too late!

I could feel the wound on my back heal, the paralysis gone, the Goddess’s blood has healed me. I swiftly dislodged the knife from the Goddess’s head, now armed.

“HAHA!” I smugly laughed. “Come fight an armed opponent if you dare Discordia! But know, I am quite skilled with the blade! You and your... Dragon... Friend... Stand no chance?”

The two just stared.

FUCK! I screamed internally. The dragon wasn’t here when I made these plans! I got too caught up in this being successful as I could manage a lone woman.

“Hehehehe.” She chuckled fully amused, clapping with glee. "See! So entertaining!”

Doran kept to himself, trying not to get caught up in this freak show.

“We must leave now Discordia. I wish to make it to shelter before dawn.”

“Yes, yes. Come now pet, this silly game will get you nowhere.”

She confidently walked towards the bed, despite my weapon. The dragon glared me down, clearly, he understands I would never bite the hand that feeds me.

“Help me pick up the Goddess, little puppy.”

“Y... Yes...” I accepted in defeat.

Picking up her by the legs, we carried her towards the open window.

“Wait!” Doran demanded.

“What?” Discordia asked sharply.

“Her blood! Bandage her wounds before a drop gets on my scales!”

Hm? The dragon was suddenly afraid of a few drops of blood.

A devious grin spanned my face.

Discordia grunted. “Fine. Puppy, can you grab the bandages from my bag?” She gestured towards her waist.

“Y- Yes.” I agreed. I dropped the Goddess’s legs, staggering her down.

“What are you doing!? Just grab the bandages you-”

Discordia stared in bewilderment, the dragon’s eyes widened in fear.

Before either of them could do a thing, I had already postured my body for the throw, putting full force into my arm.

Doran’s head was too slow, his body too big. He tried to squirm away as the blue potion I hadn't used yet was on trajectory.

With a shatter, the Goddess’s blood splatted Doran’s face, marking him in her faint glow.

“YOU BASTARD!!! MY EYE!!!” Doran verbally yelled, his voice boomed throughout the city.

In his pain, Doran thrashed around. Smashing into the empty buildings and shaking the very ground beneath him. His eye was reactive to the healing potion, burning him as smoke trailed off his eye.

His tail slammed into the churches base, knocking me and Discordia over by its sheer power.

“What have you-” Her words were quickly silences, with a small scratch of her own knife, she was unable to move. The strap holding her bag with the syringe and vial was cut, dropping it to the ground.

“I told you, I’m skilled with the blade.” I was full smug.

My entertainment was unmatched. I could feel an immense pleasure from the scene.

“I have successfully paralyzed the priestess!” I didn’t realize how bad that sounded until I said it.

“Y- Y- Y-”

“Huh?” I smugly questioned as the dragon cursed and yelled in anguish.

“You are so my type!!!” Discordia’s breathing deepened, her primal urges on full throttle. Even being paralyzed, her body squirmed in excitement.

I just stared, not even her dangerous eyes could ruin this moment for me.

I felt a new presence behind me.

“GODDESS!!!”

Lard’s sudden appearance ruined the moment for me.

Lard stared in utter confusion. I stood over a paralyzed priestess while holding knife, and her holding the corpse of the Goddess. A dragon was thrashing around, cursing like a sailor and destroying buildings in the background.

“Uh... This isn’t what it looks like.” I realized his current thinking.

“YOU! YOU KILLED OUR GODDESS!?!?” Lard accused me.

“I TOLD YOU IT’S NOT WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE!!!”

“LARD!” Discordia began to let out crocodile tears. “Toshiro! He! He’s one of the Demon King’s generals! Take him away!”

“HUUUUUH!?!?!?” My eyes recoiled into my brain. the mere audacity of this sadist has no bounds.

The door to the bedroom opened.

“What is happening in here-” Layla’s and Conrad’s faces’ distorted into pure confusion by the scene, same as Lard’s.

“QUICKLY LAYLA!!! USE YOUR ABILITY ON LARD QUICK!!!”

“Huh!? Uh- Okay!” She chose to trust me.

“No, you don’t!” Lard postured himself and teleported, he had already grabbed my shoulders.

I braced, not looking forward to being taken elsewhere. I was instead met with his calm composure.

“Uh... Hi Toshiro...” He greeted, as if he had no urgency. I sighed relief.

“What are you doing!? Take him far from here!” Discordia ordered once more. Doran in the background began scratching into his own eye.

“Tosh! What’s going on here!?” Layla demanded, keeping her gaze on Lard.

“We need to stop the priestess! She’s trying to take the Goddess to the Demon King!”

“WHAT!?” Conrad was confounded as Layla sat in confusion. “I can’t allow such a thing to happen.”

Conrad made his way to the knocked down Priestess, Doran’s enormous body still shaking the building as he thrashed.

“YOU DUMB BASTARDS!” With a swipe of his sharp claws, Doran slashed the building, causing the floors above to crumble.

“Fuck! Lard! Listen, we need to get the Goddess out of here, even if I am the enemy, your goal should be that. Understand?” I asked him. Doran had returned to scratching his own eye, his red blood tainting his ferocious hands.

Lard pondered while in his composed state, letting his ease guide him. “I really hate you Toshiro. Unbelievably so. But I put the Goddess above that, so I will get her away from you.”

I sighed, knowing this would be the best I could get. “Layla! Focus on the dragon outside before he brings this building to the ground!”

“Uh- Okay!” She freed Lard, now staring at the Dragon as he clawed at his own eye.

Doran had swiped the building once more, the ceiling let out one bit of rubble, perfectly hitting Lard in the head, knocking him out. I felt both relief and disappointment, this was a predictable outcome but glad I didn’t have to hear him talk down later. Even with the atmosphere as it was, I felt a lingering emotion I did not like.

Doran slowly began to calm. His eye red of his own blood and the burning still occurring, his eye smoked as the fresh wound he gave himself mixed with the Goddess’s blue essence.

“Wait, Conrad.” Discordia begged, her tone of a scarred animal. “I care for you. You’ve help me many of times and I’ve done the same. Please don’t hurt me.”

“I... I’m sorry, but I have to get the Goddess away from you, even if you are a friend.” He apologizes, readying his small blade as sweat beat down his cheek.

Discordia crawled backwards, dragging the Goddess’s corpse as she pleaded and made distance.

Didn’t I paralyze her? How is she... My itch came back for one last round.

“WAIT! GET AWAY FROM HER!?” I yelled.

“Huh?” Conrad took his eyes off of her, leading to a fatal mistake.

With a quick slice, Conrad found himself on the ground, paralyzed and numb with pain.

“M- My foot!” He weakly cried. Unable to hold the nub where blood gushed from, he cried as his foot was severed from his leg.

“CONRA!!!” Layla screamed, loosing concentration freeing the Dragon. The ground and buildings shook again from his thrashing.

“Hehehe... AHAHAHAHA!!!” Discordia slowly raised, laughing like a mad woman. My blood turned cold in fear. “I LOVE THIS!!! THE CHAOS!!! THE UNPREDICTABILITY!!! HUMAN NATURE IS SO FASCINATING!!!”

She laughed, amused by the scene before her. Layla took a step back in fear, Conrad cried. Lard was still knocked out cold being useless while Doran cried anguish.

“Human nature... Is fascinating...?” I muttered.

“Huh?” She met my gaze in her fit of laughter, her smile cracking her cheeks.

“That... That is so... Disappointing...”

“Huh?” Discordia’s sudden glee turned to confusion, snapped of her fun by my words. “Dis... Disappointing...?”

She didn’t know how to respond. She just stared in silence, dumbfounded, she wasn’t amused by my eyes.

“This is boring now.” I admitted.

“What!?” Layla took offence. “Help Conrad! Why are you just standing there spouting nonsense!?”

I sighed. “This is now a predictable outcome. Discordia will get the Goddess. Our forces will be too thin to chase her down and I’ll have to actually go to the demon king’s castle to save her.” I felt such disappointment as the room stared blankly at me.

Doran began to calm down outside. His thrashing was nearing its end.

I looked to Discordia. Her eyes couldn’t accept my gaze for the first time.

“I now know why I find you dangerous. It’s not your sadistic personality. Nor is it your cunning and mischievous mind. No... It’s more fundamental than that.” Discordia was afraid.

I huffed, feeling the weight of boredom. Taken out from such a fascinating and unfolding of events. I cursed myself for spotting the patterns, unable to simply live in the moment and feeling the motions.

“I can’t experience the moment the same as all of you... But... I absolutely despise Human nature... So, I really, really hate you. Discordia.”

Conrad’s cries was the only break from the silence, Doran had calmed and the two women standing just stared.

“God sir... What are you-”

“NO!” Discordia abruptly interrupted". “NO! NO! NO! NO! NO!”

She stomped her foot against the ground, screaming like a banshee.

“Discordia?” Doran raised his head, still in pain but was also taken aback by her actions. I just stared blankly, uncaring.

“You! You can’t spoil the fun like this! I can’t accept knowing the outcome before it happens! Why!? Why would you ruin the moment!” She cried, I witnessed her truth, one I didn’t even need the itch for.

“I refuse to be bored in this new life. Take the Goddess and go but know this. The story has set its stage and will end as every typical one does. With the fall of evil, and the good triumphant.” I expressed in monotone.

Discordia was in shock. Our gaze’s shared the same emotion. Pure and utter sadness.

“Discordia! We must go!” Doran shifted his body to give access to his back. His glare was set onto Layla, furious as his eye stinged of smoke and blood. Layla froze in fear.

Discordia bit her lip, she frustratedly threw the Goddess over her shoulder. She couldn’t meet my gaze nor I the same, we were on the same page.

She straddled the Goddess onto Doran’s back. Her blue blood had dried but a fresh drip stinged his back as he winced in pain.

“E- Elvire! Tosh! We have to save her-”

“Let them go.” I ordered Layla.

“Huh?” She was dumbfounded, peering over to the Goddess and Discordia disgruntledly mounted Doran’s straddle.

The atmosphere was cold and dead, Layla didn’t know what was happening or what to do.

“Till we meet again... My little puppy...” Discordia gave her farewell in dread, unable to look at me one last time as Doran flapped his powerful wings, struggling through the pain as he took off.

I just sat there, staring at the mess around, from the destroyed buildings to those on the ground, I sighed.

“What... What did you do...?” As Layla asked her question, I wandered over to Discordia’s dropped back, pulling out the vial.

“Take this.” I ordered, unable to speak with emotion.

“W- What...?” She stuttered.

“You want to save Conrad, Correct?” Her eyes widened, spotting the brolic man as his cries weakened as he bled out.

“SHIT! Hold on Conrad!” She rushed over, taking the vial and rushing to his aid.

As she comforted him, soothing his pain with soft words, I wandered. Standing in the open window, damaged by Doran's claws, I stared to the moon. My mind was blank, I couldn’t feel the excitement from earlier, only the familiar dread of boredom.

“I'm bored.” I murmured, watching as Doran took the Goddess far into the night sky.
