Chapter 18:

Action Time

The Last Hope of Fallen Kingdom ( Volume 1)

Then Ark reached the warehouse area.

With his eyes fixed on the full moon above, Ark silently flew in the cool night air. The forest and the far-off warehouse were lit by the gentle silver light, which created long shadows on the ground. Tonight is a rare moment of calm before the storm, he thought, and the moon is beautiful. For a moment, his thoughts strayed to the plan he and Delta had created, making sure every element was precisely in line.

But that silence wasn't unheard. Two watchful guards looked into the darkness from the warehouse rooftop. One said, pointing up at the sky, "Do you see that?" Quickly, five guards gathered, looking around in the moonlight. Ark's appearance against the moonlight caught their attention. Another said, his voice tense, "He's watching us." Silently, they started coordinating their positions and preparing for any intrusion.

Meanwhile, Delta was already making her move. She sprinted through the dense underbrush, her paws—no, her feet—lightly brushing against fallen leaves. The shadows of trees danced around her as she approached the warehouse’s less-guarded flank. Timing was critical. The guards’ attention had already been drawn toward Ark, and Delta knew she had just a few seconds to strike.

She inhaled deeply before jumping onto a low wall and landing soundlessly behind the five guards on patrol. Her claws  sliced through the first guard in a single motion, so smooth it hardly made a sound. Before the other four could react, she launched accurate, deadly blows. The surrounding forest appeared to quiet down by the time the final guard was downed. "All five… gone," she said as she cleaned the edge of her blade.

Still floating above, Ark watched the scene with satisfaction. He lowered himself slowly and landed on the warehouse floor with gracefully. His eyes swept over the scene, taking in the fallen guards and the well-defined entrance Delta had made. “The distraction… worked perfectly,” he said, a small smile pulling at the corner of his lips.

Delta turned to face him, her eyes shining with excitement despite her even breathing. "Yes, Ark. Our plan worked. The guards weren't prepared for our cooperation. Already determining the next step of actions, she cast a quick glance at the warehouse entrance. "We can now enter before anybody else sees.”

Ark replied, his hands filled weakly with mana, ready to help eliminate any traps or magical wards. "Remain on guard. This is only the start. The real difficulty starts once we're inside.

Delta tightened her claws. “I’m ready. Let’s do this.”

The two moved in perfect harmony after exchanging eye contact to confirm their silent agreement. They moved toward the warehouse, the shadows of fallen guards indicating the start of their brave infiltration, the moonlight following them, lighting the course of their exact and deadly teamwork.

As the night grew colder, they could hear the quiet hum of magical cells inside the warehouse. Delta's eyes glowed with focus as Ark took a slow breath and concentrated on his mana flow. They were prepared for whatever existed inside.

Then both are entered in the warehouse. In the entrance many guards present with swords.

Delta moved quickly with precision, like a shadow, through the darkened warehouse. A dozen soldiers rushed toward her as soon as she entered, screaming and raising their weapons. The purple blaze of her aura sliced through the air as she countered with her blade after avoiding the first blow with a quick, calculated spin. Her precise attacks silenced the soldiers' cries as she danced through the chaos, one by one.

Before she could catch her breath, she saw a group of mages standing behind a crates' barrier, chanting spells and calling forth lightning bolts and fireballs. Anticipating the assault, Delta smiled. She leaped into the air and smoothly turned to dodge the first magical engry sphere that charged toward her. She dodged the second mage's wave of frost with a lose of speed. She jumped forward, releasing arcs of concentrated magic energy with each blow, and purple flames gathered around her claws. She unleashed her signature attack, the Purple Blaze, in one devastating sweep. Caught in the flames, the mages screamed, and in a matter of seconds, they were all lying beaten on the chilly warehouse floor.

Delta kept going. Soldiers kept advancing at her, but her speed and accuracy outnumbered their numbers. With each strike, her aura exploded as she effortlessly dodged, countered, and blocked. She looked around the warehouse, taking in each room and hallway. She opened a door to a weapons room with neatly stacked rows of daggers, crossbows, and blades. Crates of illegal drugs were found in another door, and smuggled artifacts and illegal goods were found in a third, providing further proof of the warehouse's illegal activities. A tiny smile formed on Delta's lips; everything was just as they were expecting.

She pushed on until she arrived at the room that made her heart race—a caged, prison-like space. Dozens of beast humans gathered inside, weak and chained, their eyes wide with terror. Troops stood on either side of the door, prepared to attack anyone who moved near.

One soldier said, “ Who are you? If you come near we kill you.” Then he saw Delta and laughed and said, “ relaxed guys this is a disgusting human beast. Come here, your place is inside a cage, not outside of prison.”

After hearing a disgusting word or disrespectful word she was totally in anger .A deep violet energy shimmered around Delta as her aura flared violently. With fluid, precise movements, she cut through the guards like lightning. Unable to resist her relentless attack, each blow sent them tumbling to the ground. The cages opened as the soldiers were routed in a matter of seconds. With hope shining in their eyes for the first time in months, the emancipated beast humans gazed at her in wonder. With authority and assurance in her voice, she said quietly, "You're safe now." "Go, run, and go outside, you are safe. Then that time no one harms you we protect you no matter which cost

Meanwhile, in another part of the warehouse, Ark had found the vault room. He carefully inspected the heavy doors, ensuring no traps were triggered, before stepping inside. His eyes widened as he took in the sight: piles of gold coins, stacks of silver, and heaps of bronze filling the room from floor to ceiling. He walked over, running his hands over the gleaming coins, his heart racing with excitement. Twenty gold coins, hundreds of silver, and thousands of bronze—he had never seen wealth like this before.

As Ark was amazed at the find, he couldn't resist leaning back on one of the vault's solid chairs. Feeling the weight of a few gold coins, he scooped them into his hands and smiled. The satisfaction of his strategic planning and hard work washed over him, and he thought, This is amazing. He was proud to know that he could use this wealth to support his association, Delta, and the freed beast humans. With a soft laugh of delight, he leaned back even more, enjoying the results of their bold infiltration.

Delta moved carefully, making sure every prison cell was empty, every cage was empty, and every released human beast was safe, while Ark reveled in the vault. Knowing that the beast humans now had a chance at life, free from cruelty, caused her eyes to sparkle with relief and satisfaction. She looked back toward the vault, knowing that Ark was probably gloating over their accomplishment. A tiny smile pulled at her mouth. Together, they had executed the plan, the battle, and the liberation flawlessly. They were getting closer to justice for those who had endured so much suffering with each step and action they took.

With the warehouse cleared, Delta finally stepped outside for a breath of fresh night air. She could see the stars glittering above, the cool breeze washing over her. Beside her, Ark emerged from the vault, still cradling a small handful of gold coins, his face glowing with excitement. “Delta,” he said, laughing softly, “we did it. Everything… we actually did it.”

She nodded, her hair catching the moonlight. “Yes, we did. And it’s only the beginning. Those who hurt others will never be safe while we’re around.”

Together, they stood on the warehouse roof, the freed beast humans quietly dispersing below. The night was silent, but a sense of victory and hope filled the air. Their mission had succeeded, and both knew that tomorrow would bring new challenges—but tonight, they had won.
