Chapter 29:

This Story Is Not Finished Yet

Isekai In My Own Novel!?

Third-Person POV:
Three days later, on the front lawn of Aidan's mansion,

"Tell me, Darien, what's your real age then? You're not older than me, are you?" Eirian asked while petting a cat hiding in the bushes with Darien crouched beside him. Darien could only observe the cat because his brother wouldn't let him touch it.

'... It's annoying that I can't touch animals either because of my health, sigh... Maybe there's a way I can touch furry animals without worrying?'

"Well... I was 21 years old at that time..."

"21!?"

"Shhh!!!"

Because of Eirian's shriek, the white cat ran away in fright, and several nearby maids turned to look at the two brothers with confused and strange expressions.

The blond boy offered an awkward smile, then bowed his head in embarrassment, while Darien looked at his brother with an exasperated expression. "Do you want the whole world to know who I am?" Darien asked, but in a whisper.

Eirian just grinned, then stood up to look for the cat again, followed by Darien, until a thought hit him and he spoke loudly.

"Is he really 21? Why does he act like such a cute, innocent kid? I really thought he was younger than me, else..."

Darien looked like he had been struck by lightning, while Eirian still hadn't realized until he felt a dark aura coming from behind him. When he turned around, he was shocked to see Darien looking like he wanted to kill him--well, not literally kill, but it still sent a chill down Eirian's spine.

"Oh shi--"

At the same time, in the office of Aidan's mansion,

"Well, who expected them to act now? Good thing that blood boy saw his brother being taken; otherwise, we'd have a problem finding him. They are very good at hiding, heh." Eve said, crossing his arms, leaning on the sofa with an annoyed look.

"More like good at running away," Mona commented, rolling her eyes. "Haha... But, Aidan, you said they acted alone, not on their master's command, right?" Toru asked with an awkward smile.

"... Yes, it was Royce's idea."

"Ugh, that crazy guy? Well, not surprising... He always acts on his own and makes his own decisions," Eve grumbled. "But it still surprises me their master hasn't got rid of him?"

"... You forgot how strong he is? Of course, his master won't get rid of him, even if he finds it annoying enough to hang the guy upside down in his mansion before..." Mona said, sweat-dropping as she remembered Royce hanging upside down with his mouth taped in the middle of the dining hall while his master simply ignored him and continued eating.

"... Yeah, he's definitely crazy," Toru commented, laughing awkwardly.

"What about the two boys?" Eve asked, changing the topic this time to Aidan, who was still standing by the large window watching something on his front lawn. The three of them feel curious to know, so they stood up to see what Aidan had been observing.

"Aaaahhhh! I'M SORRY, DARIEN!!!" until they heard a panicked scream coming from someone they didn't expect: Eirian himself.

The three of them immediately pressed their faces against the window and saw from above Darien chasing Eirian on the lawn, with several maids, including Mina, running after them. This was indeed a rare sight; even Aidan smirked with amusement watching the two brothers.

"Eirian-sama! Little Young Master! Don't run! You just recovered!!!" Mina shouted from behind, lifting her maid dress as she ran after the two brothers.

"Eirian! Get over here!"

"No!!! Darien! I really didn't mean it!!!"

"You can't fool me anymore!"

Back to Aidan and his team,

"... Are they fighting again?" Toru asked worriedly, while Mona and Eve, with their orbs ready to record it all, were still watching the two brothers playing chase with the maids.

"Don't worry, this is normal. I don't know what the two of them fought about that day that made Eirian run and leave Darien, but I won't ask. And now, since that night, they seem closer and more comfortable with each other.

So, I won't interfere if the two of them are fine," Aidan replied, making Toru look a little taken aback at the small smile on his face and the look of pure affection in his eyes.

'... Wow...'

Back to the two brothers who were still playing chase...

Darien looked like he wouldn't give up, but he knew he couldn't keep running like this either, and Eirian was proving difficult to catch.

Then he got an idea, so he whispered to open his status window to try something now. As soon as he pressed the button, he vanished.

This caused Mina and the others to stumble in shock, and in the blink of an eye, he appeared right in front of Eirian, who looked equally shocked, stopping abruptly and trying to turn back, but it was too late.

Eirian had crashed into Darien, and the two of them fell into the fountain pool.

"Gasp! Little Young Master! Eirian-sama!" Mina shrieked in panic again and rushed towards the two brothers, who were now completely soaked.

Eirian remembered falling on top of Darien; he worried he might have injured the novelist, and when he went to ask if Darien was okay, the novelist took the opportunity to get his revenge.

"Ah! Darien--! Hahahaha! Stop! Stop! Hahahaha!!"

Darien didn't stop. Instead, he just smirked maliciously, still tickling his brother, who tried to escape but couldn't because Darien was sitting on his stomach and tickling his body, making it hard to escape his younger brother's mercy.

However, his revenge didn't last long when he was lifted like a kitten—again! By Nana this time. "Ah! Nana-nii!?"

"Darien-sama, you'll catch a cold again... Sigh, seriously, you two just recovered and are already playing chase? Now, prepare to hear a scolding from hell," Nana said with a pitiful look, making Darien and Eirian confused, not understanding what he meant until they felt an even stronger dark aura this time.

The two brothers turned and froze, seeing Mina with red eyes and a thick, dark purple aura surrounding her. She looked furious now; even the maids who followed her immediately moved away, silently praying for the ears of their two little masters.

'We don't want to die!' the two of them screamed internally.

The scene shifted back to Aidan and his team, who were sweat-dropping, watching Mina scold the two brothers like a mother from above. Aidan shook his head and returned to his sofa, followed by Eve, Mona, and Toru.

"... Looks like everyone here is comfortable and has accepted the two brothers, huh?" Mona asked with a happy smile. Aidan just gave a small smile and nodded yes.

"... Ai-chan, I actually have something I wanted to tell you from my last solo mission," Eve said suddenly, looking serious, making the three of them focus on him, looking serious too.

Eve's eyes glanced at the two brothers from the main window, specifically at Darien, before he looked at Aidan and his two team members.

"Do you all remember I went on a mission undercover in the demon kingdom?"

"... Oh! The one where you went to investigate the case of the recent missing bodies, right?" Toru asked, to which Eve nodded yes. He continued his story.

"Originally, according to the clues I got, it was highly likely the Demon King was behind all this, but I was wrong. It wasn't their work but someone else's, only I couldn't find out who.

They were very mysterious, as if they never existed. Anyway, that's not what I wanted to say. What I want to talk about is the rumor that the Demon King has a child. I saw the child while I was investigating there."

Mona and Toru looked shocked, and Aidan looked even more serious and nodded his head, telling Eve to continue.

"The rumor is true. All this time, everyone thought Dari-chan was the Demon King's child, but it's not him. Yes, of course, I knew from the start that little boy wasn't Mona-chan's."

"Hmph."

"What does the child look like? And how did you confirm he was related to the Demon King?" Aidan asked, ignoring Mona, who looked like she wanted to strangle Eve.

Eve leaned back on the sofa with an anxious look this time. "... I didn't see his face, but he looked around the same age as Dari-chan, small and fragile, with black hair.

I only saw him from behind, so I couldn't see his face when the Demon King himself came to pick him up and entered the castle while holding the boy's hand. He looked so happy it almost made me forget he was the Demon King..."

"But how could he have a child? I didn't know he had a relationship with anyone. And is the boy human?" Mona asked.

"Sigh... That's what confuses me. How could he suddenly have a child? The boy appeared out of nowhere--"

"I don't think that's his child," Aidan interrupted, looking deep in thought. The three of them waited for him to finish speaking because Aidan seemed to know something.

"... You yourself said the boy appeared out of nowhere, right? I also never saw any human children there during my mission."

"Thinking back, when we fought him a few years ago, I didn't see a child either?" Mona claimed.

"If so, did he kidnap the child to make him his heir?" Toru's question made all of them think deeply with serious and worried expressions. Thinking that the Demon King has a child... or has kidnapped an innocent child. That means the Demon King has a plan that will surely bring destruction to this world.

In the garden of Aidan's mansion,

"... So, that's teleport? I didn't even know it existed in the menu all this time?' Eirian muttered, staring at the status window.

"Well, I just remembered it when... Ah... I got kidnapped, haha," Darien said, laughing awkwardly. Eirian facepalmed at him before checking something else.

"Why didn't you use it then?"

"Ah... I couldn't use it. It didn't work, and neither did anything else, including my powers. It's not supposed to happen now, so I was quite shocked at the time."

"Huh? What do you mean by that?" Eirian asked, turning to look at the novelist with a confused expression. Darien just gave a faint smile, "I'll explain later. Before that, let's discuss what we want to do?"

"... Okay, hmm, you created this world, but how come you don't remember Darien's powers?"

"... I already said... I died before I had a chance to determine his power," Darien replied with an awkward smile and laugh.

"Ah, I forgot... So, what should we do? Where should we start?"

"Before that, I want to ask you. How did you summon your sword in the castle that day? I could see the sword came from your power. It was so cool and beautiful! I didn't see a sword like that in my original world..."

Eirian blushed, his cheeks slightly red, while muttering something, but Darien could hear him. "I... I don't remember... I was too angry at the time because he spoke ill of you..."

Darien froze, blinking many times before he burst out laughing, making Eirian's cheeks turn red like cherries.

"Hahahaha! You're such a tsundere!"

"Quiet... I was really sincere about caring for you, even though I didn't know who you were at the time," that made Darien stop laughing. He froze again at Eirian's honest remark, touching his heart once more.

He smiled gently and nodded in understanding. Eirian felt increasingly embarrassed, so he tried to return to the previous topic.

"So, do you know what we need to learn to control our powers? You must have an idea since you created this world after all."

"Well, that's true, but the problem is..."

"The problem?"

"Our powers are a bit... unique. So, I don't know what these powers can do... Hahaha," Darien explained, laughing awkwardly again and scratching the back of his head. Eirian gaped, then slapped his forehead with a long sigh.

"... Sigh, that's why our powers don't have any information, and the damn system doesn't know anything either..."

"But, it's better this way!"

"... What do you mean?"

"We can create our own skills then! Make our own weapons too! Like Eiri-niichan summoned the sword that day, I want to summon a sword like that too, hehe," Darien claimed with his cute, toothy smile. Eirian smiled fondly at him.

"You like swords too?"

"Huh?"

"Darien liked swords too, that's why I asked."

"Oh. Ah... Hehehe yes... I like everything, but what I like most are swords because they're cool!"

"Fufufu, I understand. Darien also said that, so let's start with the basics, then? Like your original idea before, try testing and learning to release your power?"

"Yep!"

The two of them sat closer together, looking at their respective status windows, discussing what else they should do.

The gentle wind passed by, making the flower bushes dance, and leaves from the surrounding trees circled the two of them, with birds chirping sweetly in the trees where the two brothers were sitting in the shade.

It was a beautiful and peaceful evening. Although Eirian already knew the truth, he still accepted Hikaru as his brother. Of course, he wouldn't forget Darien, but he would continue his life alongside the people he cared about and loved, even if he didn't admit it to them.

9 years later...

In Darien's room,

Our novelist was still sound asleep under his blanket, covering his whole body except for his soft, fluffy hazelnut hair. He slept as if he didn't care about the world around him. Until someone knocked on his door, interrupting his beauty sleep.

He moved slightly but went back to sleep, pulling the blanket over his head. He seriously hadn't been able to sleep last night and was very exhausted.

The door opened, and Darien heard footsteps approaching him, composed and steady but still fast. In less than a minute, the person was next to his bed.

He thought it might be his brother, so he muttered, wanting to continue sleeping. "Hmm... Eiri-niichan... I'll wake up in an hour... I didn't sleep all night... Snooze..."

"Sigh, Little Young Master, it's me, Suhee. You are already late for the academy. Isn't this your first day at the academy, and you need to attend the orientation ceremony?" Suhee asked with a worried look at her young master, who was still fast asleep.

"Hm? Oh yeah... Academy... Have to go to school again..."

"Little Young Master, to my knowledge, this is your first time properly going to an academy, right?"

"Hm... Yes... Eh?" Darien's eyes opened. He looked confused for a moment, then lowered his blanket, showing only his crimson-red eyes that still looked hazy. His vision was slightly blurred, but he recognized Suhee beside him.

When his eyes had adjusted to his surroundings and he could see clearly, he noticed Suhee's slightly worried expression and his academy uniform neatly hanging in front of his wardrobe.

His brain seemed to load for a moment before his face turned to panic, and he immediately screamed loud enough for the whole mansion to hear.

Nana, Len, and Mina, who were chatting outside, just chuckled awkwardly when they heard the panicked and shocked scream from their young master early in the morning.

"AAAAHHHH!!!! I'M LATE!" Darien immediately jumped out of bed, ran into the bathroom, before he came out again to grab his towel and run back in, while scolding himself and Eirian for not waking him up.

"Why didn't Eiri-niichan wake me up!?" he shouted from the bathroom. Suhee just sighed deeply and answered for him.

"That's because Eirian-sama had to attend the academy early this morning to prepare for today's orientation ceremony. Did the Little Young Master forget that Eirian-sama was promoted to Vice President of the student council this year?

He came to wake the Little Young Master, then immediately left because the President called him. I thought the Little Young Master had already woken up, but apparently not..." Suhee explained calmly with a weary look.

"Ahhh! I understand! Suhee-san, I want to leave now!"

"Alright, Young Master, I'll wait outside to do your hair, then quickly go eat breakfast--"

"No TIME! I'm going right now!"

"But--"

"Suhee-san!!!!"

The elderly maid sighed wearily but smiled fondly and left her young master's room before muttering something under her breath.

"Every morning is always lively, hahaha. It seems Eirian-sama and Aidan-sama will be worried sick again when they find out the Little Young Master didn't eat breakfast today."

As soon as she left, Darien came out too, immediately grabbed his uniform and put it on, partially dried and combed his hair, and without tying his tie, he grabbed a necklace from the table and his student ID.

The novelist opened his status window and pressed the teleport icon, then vanished just like that, unaware that a crow had been observing him all along before the bird flew away too.

At the same time, in a certain place...

The crow arrived there before dropping something onto a palm that was ready to receive it. A silver ring, with a small, round, pastel-green gem that shone.

The man smiled mockingly before gently stroking the crow's head. The bird looked happy and flew away, leaving the mysterious teenager in a dark forest.

"... He finally got to go to his first academy. I'd like to go there too. Maybe we could be friends? And now..." The boy put the ring into his pants pocket after speaking to the ring, before looking up at the bright and beautiful sky today.

His black hair swayed gently as the wind passed by, and his smirk grew wider. "Let's go to the next chapter?"
