Chapter 40:

Look at my Little Alex!

I Found my Pathetic Self Transported to Another World after Having my First Love Confession Rejected. Will I be Able to Find the Life I Want to Have here??

Alex woke up, because someone banged on his door. He got up and opened. A bundle of wild and chaotic red hair appeared in front of him. It was Violet in a very agitated state clutching two things in her hands.

“What is this?!”, she asked and held out a piece of paper.

“I don’t know… A letter maybe?”, said Alex.

“It reads… I hope you like, and don’t let go of it again… Your Friend A.”

“Huh… interesting… who could that be?”

“Indeed…I wonder… and what is this?”

“I don’t know… why don’t you tell me?”

“Well, it looks like if my old staff and your axe had an ugly baby…”

“Don’t you mean cool?”

“So, it is from you?”

“Who else would it be from?”

“I don’t know… my good friend Andreas?”

“Who’s Andreas?

“Not important… But what is it?”

“Why don’t you try casting a spell?”

“Shut up, you don’t mean…”

Violet stood back in the hallway and gripped the long thing in her hand tighter. The shaft of it was made out of some metal fused with wood. In the middle on the top was a big amethyst engraved. To the left and right of it were long axeblades with more gems inlaid into them. Additionally, there was a spike fixed on the top.

“Ablaze.”, said Violet.

The gems began to shine and one moment later the whole head of it was in flames. Violet looked at it with her eyes wide open. Then she made a swing with it in the direction of an open window. A massive fireball flew out into the chasm and exploded.

Violet turned slowly to Alex who watched her with a big smile.

“It’s… really… my old staff?”

“Yes… I took it with me and found a smith here specialized in weird magic items… so I asked him if we could take the remains of your staff, fuse it with some magic energy conducting metal and make it into an axe… I thought to add a spike at the top, because I know that you like to stab people.”

“So… you made a Axestaff out of the scrabs of my old staff?”

“Well, I had the idea, and I helped a little in the making…”

Violet rushed to Alex and stopped centimeters in front of him. He noticed that she was hesitating for a moment, as if she was deciding what to do next. She then leaned forwards and gave him a big kiss on the cheek. Then one on the other too.

“You are the fucking best, dude! I Love it! Thank you! That’s just … Wow!”, said Violet.

She pulled back, did a jump in the air, spined around and ran the hallway down and up again. She stopped in front of Alex.

“But dude, one thing… write your damn name properly on the letter… that shit is just confusing… Imagine if you would write a love letter to someone, trying to confess your long held feelings and you only put some cryptic signature down… what if that person now doesn’t know if it’s real or not, and asks a friend who tells them, that it probably isn’t… but in reality it is! That would be so confusing, right?”, she spoke very quickly and excited.

“Yeah… right.”, agreed Alex a bit confused himself.

“See… so remember… write your damn name on a letter! Especially a love letter! Ok, I’ll go now and show everybody this amazing Axestaff you gave me… I think… I’ll call it little Alex!”

“Please don’t…”

“Hey everybody! Look at my little Alex! Isn’t he cute?”

“Stop!”

Violet began running through the hallway again, giggling like a little schoolgirl. Alex ran after her. Soon the whole Kingdom knew who little Alex was.

From that day on until the spring Violet not only took magic lessons under Master Morein but also took part in the weapon training of Alex and Yona. She even didn’t care anymore about the young dwarven woman flirting with Alex and getting handsy with him. Every time Yona shot her a challenging gaze, she just flashed her little Alex and smiled with a sense of superiority.
