- The Splitter-

For a moment all of Lucifer’s rage subsided when she caught a glimpse of her daughter. The majestic snake returns to her human form after her entrance.

But it was only for a moment. The memories rushed back into Lucifer’s head, she reminded herself of her fury.

“SHION! GET OUT OF HERE!” Lucifer screamed, “I won’t let them get away!”

“Not even for you.”

Shion flinched. Lucifer took this moment of hesitation and swipes at the angel.

“Asmodeus!” Taro yells,

Luckily Asmodeus was near the ground where the angel was standing and pulled her leg so that she could trip, thus avoiding the death blow of Lucifer.

“That boy!” The white hot flash of anger was now set upon Taro. She was about to lunge at him before she felt a grip on her hands.

Looking over, she finds it was Shion that grabbed her hand with both of hers.

“Mother! Please!” she cries, “Stop this!”

“Even you… You would turn against me…” Lucifer angrily spits

“No! It’s not like that!” Shion pleads and cries, “I want the violence to stop!”

“If you don’t like it. Kill me.” She demands and bats away her hold, “It is the only way I’ll stop.”

“I won’t!” Shion remains indignant, “If you want me to stop!... Kill me!”

Even for the hard hearted Lucifer, having a daughter plead to you to kill them makes her blood run cold.

“Ahhh…” The serpent lord stumbles, “Ahh…”

“My own.. daughter…” she puts a hand over one eye in anguish.

“I am truly alone in this world.”

*FWOOMMMMM

The blazing inferno blasts through the crevice of the spire.

“Uwehhh….” Lyla dizzily sways after firing her blast at the ceiling,

“T-This isn’t going to work!” David protests, “It’ll take 20 years of blasts to get even close to a 1/1000th of what we need!”

Elaine was also starting to have doubts about the plan. The structure just seems too big.

“Where are the dwarves?” she asks,

“Ah.” Aoi answers, “They said they needed to get something,”

“Arghh! ” Elaine scratches her hair in frustration.”I can't believe I got caught up in the moment with those guys! Stupid!”

“I wouldn’t pass them off just yet!” Aoi chirps, “They know what they’re doing! Trust! That's why I said we should wait a while.”

“But even with Lyla’s massive overpowered blasts we still can’t put a sizable mark on the thing, what chance do three stumpy dwarves have?”

“One. They’re not stumpy, they’re stout!” Aoi started listing off things,
“Two: They have never failed a task they promised to keep,
and three: this matter involves forces of physics and engineering!
You can have the strongest arms on the planet, -but you’ll never escape gravity!”

Elaine stares at Aoi for a bit.

“You know… I’ve been thinking this for a while, but you’re a bit of a dwarf nerd aren't you?”

“W-What?!” Aoi says flushed, “I don’t know what you’re talking about?!”

“Come to think of it… Her face did seem to light up when they showed up…” David adds while fanning the light headed Lyla,

“S-Shut up! You’re imagining things!” Aoi storms off,

“A-Aoi!” Elaine calls out to her, “Oh c’mon nowww!”

… Elaine chases after the flustered Aoi.

David looks up at the monolith, “I hope those kids are ok…”

……

“GyYAHAAHAHAHA!” The stout Dusty laughs a grand belly laugh, “If you want to break a leaf apart do you poke holes in it? GAHAHAHA!”

The dwarves were tickled pink in hearing of the army’s feeble attempts to take down the tower.

“Ahaha…” David laugh tolerantly,

“Buu!! These guys are sooooo mean!!” Lyla cries,

“Bahahah!” Knapp laughs, “Don’t take it so seriously! W’re just ‘avin a gaff!”

“...So what is the correct method?” Elaine asks,

“Wedges my dear, wedges!” Lapis chortles “When you need to split something, you need to use a wedge!”

“So what were you guys doing all this time?” Aoi asks, looking away

“Ohh! Aoi! Why are you so far away?!” Knapp jeers, “Com’ on over here! Hehe!”

“I-I’m fine!” she snaps! “I was just curious is all!”

“Ah.. She’s in her rebellious stage," Dusty wipes a tear from his eye.

“Sh-Shut up!” Aoi cries,

The dwarves tease and rib the crew for a bit longer before they decide to unveil their tool of destruction.

A hundred foot tall wedge was wheeled in. The object consists of a large stone wedge, and a large hammer that was affixed on a swivel above the vehicle.

It was set to work right away.

Ropes were affixed to the back of the wedge, legions of Justiciars on each side pull the wedge towards the crack. The strongest units were set atop the splitter to operate the hammer.

And by operate they mean: to smash the hell out of.

“Ready?!” Dusty shouts

“READY!” all of the units yell,

“GO!” He shouts,

*BWOOM!

Aoi, David, Lapis, Knapp and Elaine all attack the hammer at the same time. The Hammer flies into the wedge.

*BOOWWMM!

Lyla, who was looking at a distance, felt a twinge of disappointment. Nothing seems to have changed.

“AGAIN!” Dusty shouts

The massive hammer swivels back.

“READY!” all of the units yell,

“GO!” He shouts,

*BWOOOM!

*BWWWOOOOMMMM!!

This time the ground shook to Lyla’s amazement and dust was falling from the ceiling.

Their method was definitely producing results,

“AGAIN!”

**BWOOMM!!!!....

“That’s amazing…!” Lyla says,

“It is.” The once jeering general agrees,

“If only we had some of our stronger units, like Akari or that giant snake…”

“That… Is a good point your majesty. We’ll have to make do for now...”

The ground team makes strides on the destruction of the Babel’s Tower.

*BWOOM

Reverberations were felt in the white halls of the divine realm.

“W-What’s that?!” Akari asks,

“Tremors? *cough *cough! We’re in the sky aren’t we?!” Taro says, “Unless…”

“They’re taking down my tower…” Lucifer says lifelessly, “From the sound of it, it will take about half an hour before it falls.”

She straightens her back…

… and makes a deranged face.

“Tell me boy?... Do you think you can keep me from killing you in half an hour?...”
