Chapter 35:

Golden Rain

Re:Admin

Inside her rigged-up throne in that sad factory, Aeriys locked eyes on the Mobile Command Center's progress. A bunch of screens hung in the air, showing her everything – satellite views, secret street cams, anything she asked for. She saw way more than regular tech could show.

Her throne was a messed-up joke – made of scrap metal and junk, but put together like something heavenly. Strange lights flashed where the pieces met, like the whole thing had a life of its own, borrowed from somewhere else. The factory was a wreck, but around her, everything was untouched, like she had a shield keeping the bad stuff away.

She grinned, watching Admin drive through traffic, seeing his folks amazed by the ride, and Eyrie loving her ice cream. It was almost sweet enough to make her care. Almost.

But Aeriys wasn't normal anymore. She was stuck between what she once was and what she'd turn into. She wasn't the same since she'd changed; now she could do things nobody else could even dream of.

How cute, she whispered, her voice sounding wrong, like many voices at once. They think they can drive up, ask questions, like I'm some loser you can argue with. Her smile grew, showing teeth perfect and sharp. They have no idea what they're up against.

She had been watching Admin since day one when Aeriys plucked him. She thought he might be important. He was good and changed fast. But being good wasn't enough if he didn't want to give in, become what Aeriys wanted.

Admin still liked being normal. He wouldn't let go of his old life, the people he cared about. It was sweet but pointless, considering what was coming.

Time to stop playing, she thought. She'd let him find the tracker, let him think he was hunting her. She knew that people did better when they thought they were in charge.

But now, time for the truth. Time to show them how weak they were, how they couldn't win. She had to show them her power, the power RCX gave her, the power of a fallen angel.

She stood up, light as a feather, as if she didn't need gravity. She looked like a person, but something was off – her body wasn't quite right, her skin too smooth, her eyes reflecting light oddly.

She wore white robes, or so she thought. It was made of light, photons woven together. It didn't cast one shadow.

Slowly, she lifted her hands, enjoying this moment. She reached for the screens, like she could touch the Mobile Command Center. Maybe she could; she had changed so much that what was impossible before, RCX made that possible.

She pulled up her essence, grabbing energy from somewhere else. It felt amazing, like a jolt of pure power surging through her. It hurt and felt superb, all at once.

White light shot from her hands – more intense than the sun or moon, just pure power. It made itself into glowing balls, like small suns packed with destruction.

The room vibrated with strength, and the old factory groaned. Metal twisted, concrete cracked.

So, you want to fight me, Admin? she whispered, her voice reaching him even on the road. I'll show you what happens when you don't listen. I'll show you that you can't beat me, someone who's no longer just human.

With a flick of her wrist, she dropped devastation on the highway.

Out of nowhere, golden arrows appeared above the Mobile Command Center, ignoring all the rules of nature. They weren't fake tricks or holograms, they were real power. Pure celestial wrath.

Each arrow was art: perfect, burning from the inside like it was straight from heaven. For a split second, they hung there, giving everyone time to understand what was about to drop.

Then they dove.

The sky burst open, and the world was filled with light and weapons from it.

People shouted as they saw this. Some hit the brakes, some tried to drive faster.

The golden arrows dropped like crazy, smashing into earth like a ton of sun. Where they hit, asphalt turned into lava instantly, hot enough to burn people who were far away. Cars blew up fast and became vapor.

Shockwaves shook the air. Car windows smashed, and pieces of metal flew around violently. The highway turned into all-out crazy, life or death.

Inside the Mobile Command Center, the first thing they saw was red – alarms screaming as the sensors picked up things coming at impossible speeds.

What is that?! Admin's dad yelled. He knew what incoming was with his military training They're firing, we're sitting ducks His voice was a wreck – scared for his family.

Through the windshield, the arrows fell.

It's Aeriys! Reyus yelled, She's melting the planet! She's gonna toast us to nothing!

The Mobile Command Center shook like mad as arrows hit close. The plates whined. This was to be indestructible. Everything went emergency red.

Eyrie cried, ice cream all over the floor. Admin's mom pulled her close.

Admin tried his best to not die from these impacts, holding onto control with everything he had.

Close contact and arrows got closer, blasting heat.

He turned sharply, avoiding stuff like he hadn't ever before. The Mobile Command Center moved with him because it was crafted right for this situation.

Admin ducked from one end to another and tried to weave this and dodge that at the same time. They nearly avoided a direct hit from a flying arrow that seered itself just feet away.
His face was wet through with panic, adrenaline
and sweat.

The highway was not the same, all around explosions of light sound like a freight train and he felt like one good shot to the head would get this hell over with.

The innocent were scorched and he drove in hell like a demon as that was all that was left.

We have to get out of here! his mom cried. She gripped her child close against the evil she saw closing in.

We can't stop! Admin was screaming we can't, got it? Get over it. I have to keep driving, or we are all dead

Another contact rocked everything again like a punch to the side of head of a God

He then decided to push through and hit the limit because this was why it was all here.
The machine and gears screeched warnings, ignored.

He twisted and blasted, a pro, between falling things and his eyes would never be the same

Every second felt like they were passing too slow

He could feel the presence from the beast that wanted them.

They needed hope

They needed out

They needed something that was not there

They needed to move and fast

Hoping that they would still live to tell the tale out of this mess

Without it

There was only despair.
