D Energy Beasts—they are animals mutated by D3.
When D3 enters the bloodstream through the lungs and sneaks past the immune system, it begins its process of synchronization with the host’s mind and body.
D3 can turn into two things, depending on the host once synchronization completes:
1. D Aura2. D Energy
It mainly depends on two factors:
• Mental stability (sanity, willpower, clear thoughts).• Physical capabilities (random luck, genetics, hidden potential—not just strength).
Physical capability is the most crucial. If the host lacks it, D3 will not react and will eventually be destroyed by the immune system, leaving only a neutral effect.
But if a host is physically capable and their mind is stable, they awaken D Aura—a stable hyper-evolution that enhances strength, stamina, endurance, speed, and other traits depending on the individual. D Aura flows through the nervous system, and one’s level depends on how well they can control its flow. Usually, humans awaken D Aura.
But if a host is physically capable while the mind is unstable, then D3 turns into D Energy—a corrupted, raw form. It causes unstable hyper-evolution by mutating DNA. Humans cannot usually withstand D Energy’s instability—they die instantly. Only animals are able to survive and live with it. But in doing so, their minds and bodies are corrupted, twisted into monstrous forms. We call them D Energy Beasts.
The environment around such creatures feels wrong. Plants wither, shadows lengthen, and the air grows heavier. Animals flee long before the beast appears, as if their instincts can sense what the mind cannot.
To humans, just being near a D Energy Beast brings a deep, primal dread—the kind of fear that freezes the body before the mind even understands why. Corpses left behind by these creatures are often mangled beyond recognition, a silent warning of their brutality.
“Hey! Anyone here?” Akshay (SI) shouted into the dead end.
“Sir, I don’t see anyone… and night has already fallen. We should leave for now. It’s night curfew, remember,” Arjun (ASI) insisted.
“Huh? Afraid of the dark, Arjun? What’s wrong, you want mommy?” Akshay teased with a grin.
Suddenly, a trash bag toppled over to the side. Akshay jumped, hiding behind Arjun.“Ahhhhhh!” he screamed.
“Now who wants mommy, sir?” Arjun smirked.
“Ah—whatever. I was just kidding. I wasn’t afraid,” Akshay stammered.
Then Arjun’s eyes caught something on the ground. He turned off his flashlight.
Scattered across the dead end were small, glowing white particles—shimmering faintly in the dark, like stars spilled across the earth.
“What is this?” Arjun muttered.
“I don’t know… but I found the same thing at my flat’s entrance,” Akshay replied, pulling a small packet from his pocket. Inside, one of the glowing particles pulsed softly.
“I don’t know what it is, but staying close to these things isn’t good. I’ve already felt it. Let’s leave and come back with the forensic team tomorrow,” Akshay said firmly.
“Okay, sir,” Arjun agreed.
They started walking away. But then—Arjun froze.
“What happened?” Akshay asked.
He didn’t answer.
The singing of crickets had vanished.A cold unease washed over Akshay. His hands grew sweaty. Every instinct in his body screamed at him to run.
This feeling… it’s not from the particles.
There’s something else here. Something my body is begging me to escape from.
“Arjun, get yourself together,” Akshay whispered.
“Y-yes, sir,” Arjun stammered, pulling out his gun. His hands trembled.
Akshay drew his own weapon. “Don’t use the flashlight unless we hear something. Our eyes are adjusted to the dark. A flash will blind us—too many blind spots,” he whispered, speaking slowly, as if not to draw attention.
A cold drip landed on Arjun’s head. He looked up. The sky was covered in clouds. Not rain…
Then—a sound to the left. Arjun swung the flashlight. Something dark flashed in the beam—fur. Akshay raised his gun.
CRACKKKK!Lightning split the sky, flooding the alley with light.
For a split second, they saw it.Pointed ears. A body covered in dark fur. A back arched unnaturally. Legs bent at too many joints. Hollow, glowing eyes staring straight into them.
Their eyes widened. Their breath caught. Their saliva dried.
Not one of them pulled the trigger. Their bodies refused to move. The dread wasn’t from the lightning flash—it was from it.Akshay whispered, “Back off.” He didn’t even consider firing.
Arjun obeyed.“Slowly. There must be a reason it hasn’t attacked,” Akshay said again, voice low, almost trembling.
They stepped back And turned to run
A strange creepy sound followed.
They turned—It was still their not moving but a bit closer.
They again turned to run the same noise, they turned back.It was more close.
“Maybe… maybe this thing only chases when we’re not looking,” Akshay muttered, stammering.
“We should walk away facing it. Don’t blink. Don’t turn.”
Arjun nodded, barely able to breathe.
Sweat dripped from Akshay’s face. His gun hand shook under the beast’s gaze.
Step by step, they backed away.At the corner, they turned—The beast rushed forward, stopping right at the edge of their sight.
Arjun let out a laugh—not of joy, but of terror. His face was pale, soaked in sweat. “I-it’s like a horror game,” he stammered.
“Fool! Don’t drop the flashlight! If we lose it, we die,” Akshay hissed.
Arjun spotted his car nearby.
He smiled faintly. “We’re saved.”
“Don’t celebrate too early,” Akshay muttered, though a hint of relief showed in his eyes.
Then—the flashlight flickered.
Akshay’s stomach dropped.“Arjun… you charged it, right?”
“Sorry… I forgot.”
And then—
The flashlight went out.
