Chapter 13:

Chapter 13 : Envoy of Anarchy

Star Evolution

The energy wave, emitted from the Chaos Knight’s blade, soars towards the front of the third class commercial space vessel. Omni knight reacts quickly. He stands in front of the other humans on the deck. A large blue energy field emerges from him, passing through the others harmlessly. It surrounds the ship in an instant.

Almost as if he was one with the machine. The energy wave slams into the field exploding on impact. The tremors almost knock over Divine flash and Nameless, but they remain standing, holding onto a nearby console to stay upright. The energy shield around the ship remains intact, but the Chaos knight is quickly flying towards them.

“God fucking damn it, here comes this bitch again!” Nameless yells, frustrated. Her sister simply pulls on her arm, preventing her from doing something rash.

“I know how you feel but. Wait. Think. Why would she appear just as we are about to land on that planet? She is trying to stop us from meeting with the Divine hammer.” The sensibility of her sister’s words somewhat cools her hot head, but only for now.

She knows Nameless won’t stay relaxed as long as they are in the eyeshot of this person.

A monster clad in steel.

Omni knight nods. He maintains his shield as the Chaos knight rams into the left side of the ship, trying to smash through it with brute force.

“My barrier won’t last forever. She will force her way in, soon. Prepare yourselves for combat.” He says, as the ship violently shakes from her ministrations. Divine flash looks at the crewmates, who are confused and anxious. It is unlikely they will survive in the crossfire of the battle, let alone if they even make it to the planet. She walks over the pilot, who seems dazed.

“I need you to focus. How many other people are on this ship, besides the four crew members here?” She, a short pale monkey lady, stutters out an answer.

“T-t-here are ten other civilians, including the engineer, on this ship.” She barely mummers. The latest impact is stronger, knocking her down on her feet. Divine flash grabs her arm and picks her up by her arm.

“Focus on landing this ship. I will find them and lead them to an escape pod.” She looks at her sister.

“You two, stop her from killing everyone else on this ship! I’ll go now!” She dashes forward, running straight through the deck door in pure desperation.

Time was not on their side.

As if to answer their fears, a large explosion happens, on the main deck.

Omni knight jumps in front of Nameless, shielding her from the blast. The rest of the main crew are sent flying in the air. Some kind energy net catches them, preventing them from sustaining critical injuries. Energy that has come out Omni Knight. A cloud of dust blinds her temporarily.

Before Nameless can see what happened to them, they see her. The Chaos knight. She has broken through his barrier and stands in front of them, laughing.

“We meet again, red haired youth! Oh, and you have a new friend. A humanoid machine...” She cackles as she walks through debris.

There is a large hole in the ship, though the ship quickly air sealed the hole with an emergency protective gel.

The wonders of modern technology.

The least of their worries, at the moment.

Omni knight merely stands at ready. A large mechanical blade materializes in his left hand. Nameless simply unsheathes her long sword from her scabbard on her waist. The two stare at her in silence, then slowly shuffle their position backwards. Trying to avert her eyes from the defenseless, unconscious ship crew.

The Chaos knight laughs. She forms a ball of red energy in her hand, hurling it towards the captain. Nameless reacts quickly, deflecting it towards the radar systems, making it explode in flames instead.

“You think you can protect them? You can barely protect yourself! You are lucky you have a new friend with you today, Nameless warrior!” She teleports. Her body appears behind Nameless. She attempts to spin kick her in her lower spine but Omni knight has stopped her, grabbing her foot in midair. He has also teleported.

In the air, he grabs her by the foot, then with a little effort, throws her violently into the wall next to the entrance of the main deck, causing her to let out a grunt of pain as she smashes through the wall, flying deep into the innards of the ship. He lands on the ground, then starts dashing towards her quickly. The Omni Knight slashes his sword vertically at her as the chaos knight, who quickly rises from the ground, then she slashes her great sword in her left hand horizontally at him. A great collision of blue and red energy can be seen and felt. The energy radiates from their blades colliding, causing bolts of electricity to be shot all over the large room.

Nameless just barely dodges one such bolt as she watches. She can see the Chaos knight pushing back Omni knight. Not hesitating, she begins her onslaught. She unsheathes her sword and joins the fray.

She throws her blade at the Chaos Knight. She anticipates the flying sword coming towards her. She reaches her free hand to grab it, since she is wielding her giant great sword with her left, she reaches out with her left. Nameless continues running towards her, sliding behind her just as the Chaos knight grabs her sword. She kicks at an unguarded part of the back of her knee, making her drop her stance. This allows the Omni knight to push forwards, knocking her over onto her ass.

The Chaos knight loses her balance, falling over.

She drops Nameless sword. She quickly grabs it off the ground then impales it deep into her stomach.

Blood seeps out of the freshly made wound. The wound doesn’t even make the warrior flinch.

The Chaos knight attempts to attack with her left arm, still holding her sword, but the Omni Knight simply stomps on her left shoulder, making her scream in pain and laughter.

“Hahahaha. A little more fun than last time, eh!?” She laughs, trying to squirm out of her position to no avail.

Nameless simply looks at her gravely.

At the fact she has been hurt so much yet seems so unphased by this. This makes her feel like this is only the beginning of their battle.

“You...are you holding back?” Nameless asks, anxious. The Chaos knight continues laughing. A larger sphere of energy is forming in her right hand, even as the two are keeping her pinned down.

“Of course! I can’t have you, my main entertainment, dying so soon! You must become stronger! More powerful! Or our battles won’t be exciting! Won’t be as delicious!” She screams out, her pleasure from this pain making Nameless feel more uneasy.

Omni knight says nothing as he continues increasing the pressure on her left shoulder. He is trying to break her arm. That sphere of energy in her hand, though.

It has grown to the size of one of their heads. Too much energy, he thinks.

“If she throws that, it might severely damage the ship. We haven’t reached the atmosphere yet.” He turns his left eye.

The pilot has been knocked out, but the ship has reverted to autopilot.

It is very close to the planet, Exera.

“What will you do, O grand knight?” The Chaos knight cackles, as usual. As much as they would love to kill her at this moment. They both knew.

It was more important to save the people on this ship from certain death.

So, the Omni knight makes his move. He lifts his right leg off her shoulder. He drops his sword. He compresses both of his hands around her energy sphere, forcing it to explode in his hands. The resulting explosion is far smaller, but it forces both of them to be sent skidding backwards, away from the Chaos knight.

That one instant was all she needed. She immediately rises from the ground, though breathing a bit heavier. She pulls out the blade in her stomach, throwing it at Nameless.

Her wound simply regenerates in a few seconds. To the dismay of Nameless. The Chaos knight shrugs.

“You’ll have to do far more than that, to kill a wandering goddess, you know. I’m sure you’ll be able to soon enough. But for now.” She shrugs. Omni knight slowly rises to his feet. He simply dashes towards the Chaos knight again.

“I will slow her down. Nameless, pilot this ship.” As he begins attacking her once again

His blade has materialized into his hand, once again.

The two slash at each other, narrowly dodging each other’s attacks. It seems their skill with the blade was at least, by Nameless eyes, somewhat comparable.

The Chaos knight was simply stronger though. For whatever reason.

“But...” The Omni Knight does not let her continue her response, grabbing the chaos knight by the neck. He again throws her, this time harder.

She smashes through the mechanical door on the deck. This makes her fly very far, into the hangar smashing it to bits.

“We don’t have time for this. You’ll have to pilot this ship. Do it, now!” He also runs away, not letting her talk back to him. She simply complies, jumping onto the pilot’s seat.

She doesn’t know how to feel the ship but tries her best. She didn’t really pay attention to those piloting manuals her sister had bought. Curses.

The third class commercial ship has just reached the outskirts of the planet.

It is entering atmospheric entry.

Meanwhile, Divine flash has quickly gathered the remaining crew members. She has gathered all of them onto two escape pods. Just as she gets the last elderly lady on, the two knights come into the hanger with another explosion. She yells.

“Damn! Can you get her out of here?! The crew is right next to me!” Omni knight can only nod, quickly turning back towards his aggressor.

The two jump in the air.

Sounds of steel reverberate in the air as they fight. Two knights fight against each other, each driven by their own resolve.

The Omni Knight, who desires to protect his friends and pave a path to the future.

The Chaos Knight, who only yearns for Chaos. Who wants to see all things driven into the flames of war, of despair, of pure unending conflict. She cares only to stoke the flames of war.

Divine flash can only observe with her eyes. The two have become blurs in the air, teleporting around as they clash steel against steel in the air. She does not want to intervene in this battle, though she could. Her main thoughts remain with protecting the others. She has secured the escape pod. However, it cannot be deployed during atmospheric entry. The heat would burn up these pods unfortunately.

Such is the fate for a vessel made with cheap materials, she curses mentally.

“This wait is torture. How much longer can you hold her off!” She yells. Omni knight can only yell in response, he is clearly preoccupied.

“I don’t know. I have about twenty hours of time remaining but. It is hard to say.” He yells loudly, saying this while not even looking at her. His steel blue blade again collides with the great mass of black steel.

Energy ripples again from the two. Some of the energy strikes one of the empty pods near Divine flash, causing it to explode. She flinches from the explosion but luckily it wasn’t a big one.

The ship had gone past the outer atmosphere. It has almost reached the inner atmosphere, full of oxygen.

“About three hundred seconds till we reach breathable air.” Omni knight says, almost instinctively reacting to Divine flash’s inner thoughts. She looks grimly upon the blurs of blue and red in front of her. A small communication window opens next to her. Her sister has radioed her, from the bridge.

“Nam!” She yells, happy to see her okay. Not as happy to see her questionable piloting skills.

“I figured out how to open this comm windows finally. We are almost there, but I don’t think I will be able to land this vessel.”

“Our fight on the bridge has damaged some of the landing circuitry and engine output. It’s a wonder we aren’t dead right now!” She yells, focusing all of her energy on piloting the ship. It is nose diving downwards as they fly further downwards, closer to the clouds.

“The crew here are knocked out! I need you to grab em, we don’t have time!” She merely nods her head.

A blue flash can be heard louder than the clanks of steel. She arrived at the bridge.

Another flash. And another. She grabbed the remaining four members of the crew and shoved them inside the second less occupied escape pod. They are almost ready to be launched.

Unfortunately, another bolt of red lighting strikes the bottom of this pod. Luckily not destroying it but damaging it heavily.

Divine flash frantically looks at the data screen next to her sister, seeing damage to the landing thrusters on the second escape pod.

She flash moves back in front of her sister. “Nam. One of the pods is damaged. I’ll have to do something to stop it from exploding on impact. Even if I die trying.” She seems so serious, Nameless thinks. But she nods. She understands her sister the best, after all.

“Then go.” Don’t die on me.” Divine flash runs, then turns around.

“Don’t die on me, either! Land this ship, and live!” She runs off the bridge.

Another flash.

They have fully entered the atmosphere of the planet. Divine flash quickly engages one escape pod. It detaches slowly. The pod ejects, leading some of the crew members to safety. She can see the thrusters working properly, quickly making the pod fly away from the sinking hot piece of metal she is standing on. She attempts to disengage the other, but the mechanism is damaged. It will not budge.

She turns around. The two knights have drawn closer to her.

“Omni knight! Get that bitch the fuck away from us!” She yells. Omni knight merely turns once. Nodding.

He forces the Chaos knight into a grapple. He then literally crashes straight through the hanger deck door, smashing a hole into it. Air floods the large area, depressurizing it. The two tumble together in the air, away from the ship.

Divine flash cannot get the program to function, like the first pod. So, she takes matters into her own hands.

She forces a manual override by opening a panel underneath the digital pad that operates the escape pod, smashing the manual eject switch.

The pod ejects but the thrusters aren’t working properly. It starts tumbling in the air.

Not waiting, She jumps off the ship, landing on top of the pod. She grabs the entire pod with her arms; it is at least twice the size of her.

Strangely, it does not feel heavy at all.

She can see herself making quite the distance from the ship. They are descending southwards, while the ship continues northwards, trailing smoke as it continues to nosedive.

“I hope you’ll be okay, sis...” She says out loud. With one last look of the ship, she grips the pod with her body. Then with inhuman strength pushes it upright.

It is still flying too fast towards the ground.

They are about twenty kilometers in the air, and they are descending quickly. Too quickly. She is trying to slow down its descent to little effect. She loses her grip and is sent tumbling in the air, away from the pod.

“Fuck!” She curses. She lines herself back up.

She flash moves back in the air. Now, this time, she is underneath the metal pod containing several of the crew members. They are descending faster.

Five kilometers.

Three kilometers.

Two kilometers. The ground is practically in sight.

They are above a forest, close to a mountain range, in the northern colder region of the planet.

Divine flash, holding the pod with all of her strength, grips firmly, digging her hands into the steel. She grits her teeth, ignoring the pain. Holding the pod, she flash teleports. Many times in a row consecutively.

Flash. Flash. Flash. Flash. Flash. Flash.

So many flashes at once, her hands are bleeding from the exertion, her body is screaming against her but her will is stronger.

Her will to save innocent lives.

They are about one kilometer from the ground. She continues holding the pod like a delicate egg and continues flash teleporting at a desperate rate. She collides with the top branches of some of the taller trees in the forest. Her legs, at supersonic speeds, impact the earth. An unholy earthquake occurs from her landing, causing much of the forest to shake violently. She does not stop, the momentum from the air is carried into her feet, making her skid at sonic speeds through the forest. Burning the land as she slides, attempting to slow down.

Hot flames erupt behind her as she skids to a halt, her body smashing through dozens and dozens of trees. But she still retains her firm steady grip on the mechanical escape pod. She continues burning the ground as she slowly slows down.

After a couple more minutes, she finally slows down, slowly sliding into a large oaken tree. She skids to a halt, then lets the pod gently fall out of her grip, only falling down a couple feet to land on the ground. She coughs, breathing heavily.

“I can’t believe that I did this.” Surprised by her own supernatural strength.

“Am I even human...?” She wonders. Her boots are, predictably, burnt off from the force of her skidding, but her feet are perfectly fine, if not fatigued.

Her hands are covered in blood but seem to quickly regenerate without a thought. Something about her body truly was not human.

It was similar to that Chaos knight, she thought. Something akin to a god’s body. It was the only plausible explanation.

This thought filled her mind with many other questions, but they would have to wait. The pod’s hatch opens up and the captain crawls out of it. Looks like the tumble woke him up but he is smiling.

Happy to be alive.

“I can’t fucking believe me eyes. You saved our hides from certain doom.” He stands up, then bows, tipping his hat in respect. Seems like the interior of the hatch had a couple video feeds of the outside, one being the bottom of the pod. Even with far too many people squeezed into the pod. These were designed for about five people. She kind of just shoved about ten into this one and another 8 into the first pod that landed safely, she hoped. The captain helps the other crew members and civilians out of the pod, all of them very happy to be alive. He turns towards Divine flash.

“So. What would be the name of our would-be savior, young lady?” He inquires.

“People call me Divine flash. I wouldn’t call myself a hero, I just did what I thought best.” She replies, happy that she succeeded.

The pod beeps with some red signal. A comm appears, showing the other pod members are safe as well.

“Good news! We made it! And it seems like you all did too!” The engineer cheers. He continues speaking.

“It looks like our ship crash landed somewhere in the desert region of this planet...it’s about five hundred kilometers from our position and about six hundred from yours. The ship is badly damaged but when we pinged its internal radar system, we got some interesting information.... That other person seemed to have survived the crash. We don’t know where she went though. We can all get vague data reading from the ship here, these pods internal systems were damaged during their descent. We would have to investigate the crash site to gain further information,” the Engineer relays. Lucky to get some useful information from these pods, he designed it long ago.

Divine flash sighs, hopeful that her sister is okay. She will have to investigate. She begins to stand up only for the captain to push her back down on the ground gently.

“Now now, I think you need to rest, Miss. You do live up to your name, that I can tell.” She wants to argue but does not have the energy to do so.

She just accepts their generosity, for now.
