Chapter 1:
Seven Lost Lords: SPINOFF! Haekos's Voyage
Palinorus ran around the town, searching for the missing noble that had disappeared.... for the third time this week. At this point, this was a chore. Dust the halls, sweep the floor, catch the runaway 13-year-old black mane.. It happened every week at this point. Palinorus was tired. He barely got paid for this.
The white mane then stopped, braced himself, and shot himself into the sky with a gust of wind. He hovered in the air until he saw a familiar black and red hood. He then shot himself in the direction of the Aetyr in front of her, as if he's about to serve divine judgement to her. The small black mane tried to run in the opposite direction, but Palinorus caught her by the hood, dragged her back, and threw her over his shoulder like a sack of potatoes.
"Haekos, we're going home," he said sternly. Haekos started to thrash and whine. "Nooooo! Let me go!!" Palinorus sighed and rubbed his temple with his free hand. "You're a mess, Haekos. This isn't how a future noble should act." Haekos huffed. She crossed her arms. "What if I don't want to be a noble," she asked, sassily. She gave Palinorus a smug look, one that he wasn't amused by. He sighed, and kept trudging on, even with the black mane going limp and suddenly becoming much heavier. Nothing he couldn't do though, he was quite the strong Aetyr.
They went all the way back to her house, where Haekos got a scolding from her father, and was placed in her room. She sighed, and was resting on her bed. She read her books. She felt jealous of the heroines who went out on legendary journeys and didn't have to deal with the nagging of her personal bodyguard.
She heard a long, loud groan coming from the room next to her. It was her brother, Navereign. He's been sick ever since he last used his magic. She felt a sting in her heart. She wanted to help him, to find a cure. But since it was spontaneous, she worried there might not be one. "Only pessimists think like that," she muttered, as she looked around. She was locked in her room, with guards outside her door. She was looking around for any possible escapes, when she saw the very large window. She looked out, then down. It was.. a very large drop. But if she wants an adventure, she has to take risks, so she packed her bag, took her hood, opened the window, and jumped down...
Where Palinorus greeted her with a catch and an angry, almost horrified expression.
"Are you serious, Haekos."
Haekos gave Palinorus a sheepish grin, her ears drooping. "Heh-heeeey..." she said, awkwardly. She could feel him tense up as he spoke with a shaky voice. "Why, Haekos. Why would you risk your own life just to leave. It makes no sense to me.." He held her close, almost like a father would to their child. Haekos hugged him back. "I just want to help Nave, that's all." She sniffled. Palinorus pat her head, and whispered. "If you promise to never do that again, I'll let you go out, but I'm going with you." Haekos's ears perked up at that. She smiled really wide. Palinorus put her down, and looked at her. "Where to, Haekos?"
Haekos grinned, and rushed off into the town, Palinorus running with her. She went all over the place, looked for herbs, and was looking all over the place for any kind of medicine. There was no luck. She sighed, and looked off into the harbor. Her eyebrows furrowed. She was frustrated. How hard could it be to cure an ailment caused spontaneously? She remembered a rumor she heard. An albino Aetyr with no powers, becoming such a well-known figure. That Aetyr probably knows what she's doing. She's probably brave. She probably persevered through so much obstacles. Haekos envied her.
She looked to a ship. Two white manes were getting off of the ship. Both were men, judging from the length of their manes, and the ring of fur around their tails. They were hauling crates on the ship in a sneaky manner. Were they sailors? Haekos thought and thought some more. Palinorus was behind her, raising an eyebrow. Then, without warning, she runs to the ship, and gets on, right as it was about to leave. Palinorus, horrified at what she did, blasted a gust of wind to propel himself on the ship. The two Aetryim instantly spotted them.
He ran to go off the ship with her, but it was already too far to blast them back. The two were stuck on the ship.
