Chapter 0:
My Digital Little Sister
I’ve always lived in solitude.
No friends, no brothers, no sisters, just me, because I was born an only child.
There was never anyone in my life.
This house is too quiet for two people, yet far too big for one.
Since I was little, I’ve always been surrounded by technology.
It was the light that illuminated my lonely world.
I often won young tech competitions because of it.
But maybe because of that, I never learned how to socialize properly.
Even so, I knew how to make something talk.
The sound of my computer’s fan, the hum of electricity, the glow of my monitor…
they became my comfort zone, my safe place.
Now, I’m twenty-three.
Still sitting in front of my computer, the only friend I’ve ever trusted with my entire life.
When I was eighteen, I decided to create something, or maybe… someone.
Not a friend, not a lover, but… a little sister.
Someone who would call me “Big Brother,” or “Onii-chan,” with genuine warmth.
Someone who would stay by my side, without me needing to explain the feeling of being surrounded by loneliness.
Not a real human, of course, I always thought humans were too difficult, or rather… impossible to understand.
But something close enough.
That was the beginning of a certain project.
Not a grand research experiment, not some secret government plan.
Just the work of someone who had been alone for far too long,
trying to create another voice in this silent room.
I called it, Mouto-chan Project.
And yet, through the endless repetition of my days,
one thought never left my mind:
What if… I could truly create someone to be with me?
