Chapter 29:

27: Important Person

TOOI

They walked carefully. Samuël still had the book in his hand. It was nothing other than the book of spells he had found under his bed. Flora's curiosity piqued immediately and she asked in a soft tone.

"Brother, what's that?"

"Oh, it's a magic book. Do you want to read it?" "Really? Can I borrow this book?"

"Yes, it's okay. I'll just read it, but I'm sure you have some magic inside of you. So, it can be useful in an emergency."

"Oh... I see. What are you going to do?" Flora looked happy and borrowed her brother's book to read on their trip.

Wendy, Samuël & Flora, and Yoez are still walking towards that kingdom for the sake of the next life. They also visited other kingdoms such as the Hige Kingdom, the Vindalika Kingdom, and the Waropruks Kingdom. The family was staying with one of Yoez's friends, Povrzete of the Hige Kingdom, in a beautiful house overlooking a cool, shady landscape.

"Stay here for a while and eat with us," Povrzete said kindly, coming into the kitchen with some food that he had quickly prepared.

"Everyone, be careful at home. See you again sometime." Yoez left the two of them to rest.

"Aren't you going to eat with us?" Povrzete asked jokingly.

"I'll taste your cooking later," Yoez said.

"Okay, I'll do whatever you want," Povrzete said. Yoez often traveled to remote areas of other countries, so he purposely teased him.

The Hige Kingdom is one of the most heavily guarded kingdoms among the other kingdoms. The Hige Kingdom and the White Lake Kingdom are related, and by visiting secluded areas and meeting the people of the kingdom who carry out their daily security duties at their respective guard posts, you can taste moussaka, a signature dish of the Beard Kingdom. Moussaka is a dish made by layering potatoes, eggplant, and minced meat, simmering them together, and topping them with a rich béchamel sauce (white sauce).

Everyone was happy to eat such delicious food. Povrzete's wife, Voda, cooked the food well, and Voda helped serve it to Samuël's family.

"Honey, you're really good at cooking for them."
"Yeah, that's fine. I'll be busy upstairs keeping watch day and night, so you can help me cook for them...and for me."
"Oh...shut up, don't say that."

Seeing them like such a happy family, Wendy still remembered the time she (Lunga) had asked about their future relationship.

"Lunga, what are you doing?"
"Cleaning up? What's wrong?"
"No, please. Why do you look so gloomy? Cheer up. I've made dinner, let's eat."
"Yes, darling."
"Why do you call me darling? Why are you suddenly calling me darling when we're not even married yet?"
...
"I have something here. I think it would fit on your finger."
"What? A ring? For me?"

Wendy was amazed to see Rünga make so many sacrifices to buy one of the most popular rings of the time for the first woman in his life.

"Is this really serious for me?"
"Yes, for you. I'll wear it, okay?"
"Yes, sure."

Rünga bent his knee and took Wendy's hand, which was as soft and smooth as milk, and spoke in the same gentle tone.

"Will you marry me?"

She was shocked and moved when, suddenly, Rünga confessed her love, simply by looking at them. To this day, they remain a legally married couple.

"Are you going to marry me? I'm not like other girls, and I'm worried that our lives might be worse if we get married."

"It's okay. I want us to get married and live happily ever after."

Wendy bowed her head and agreed. Rünga's tears were a heartfelt wish for both of them. She was Lunga's best friend, and they both had higher academic backgrounds than the other students.

However, Wendy will lose her best friend and first love. The person was seriously injured and continued to bleed. There were no medical services in the village, and to see a doctor, people had to wait for hours in the scorching heat with little communication.

Wendy was left in tears because her loved one had to leave forever. Povrzete comforted her, hoping for a better life.

"What's wrong? Why are you crying?"

"I lost my husband. He was the shield that kept our family alive..."

*Ugh* Wendy cried not only because she missed her husband, but also because it was a bittersweet ending for both of them. "It's okay, calm down."

"I can't calm down when my husband is like this." Wendy cried until she could no longer hold back her tears.

"Calm down. I'm your husband's friend, and... I have a letter for you." "What? Another letter?"

Wendy opened the short letter she'd written while surviving the bishop's defense. That letter remains deeply engraved in my heart.

"Hey, don't be upset if I'm not here. This is what I've been waiting for the most. I've had so much work to do, and I've been writing because my friends forced me to send it. Maybe you're wondering why it all happened. I wanted to go on a trip with my beloved family. Well, if this is fate, then so be it. As long as you and the kids are safe." - Rünga

"You *sigh*, how could you leave me and the kids behind? How could you write a story that only I can read and feel comforted by? I love you. I don't want to lose you." Wendy's eyes was tear from read the small letter from Rünga about how they met and the gift of her teenagers, now they have two childrens, helps her find peace, and even without a protective presence in her life, she'll never forget her warm family life.
