Chapter 6:
Our Sky Of Letters
My dearest Matthew,
I don’t know whether this will reach you before I do, but I’ve just had the telephone call about what happened. I can hardly put into words how thankful I am that you’re still with us. I’m doing everything I can to get down to [REDACTED] as soon as possible. I don’t know if you’re able to write, but I wanted to send this anyway - perhaps it might bring you a little comfort. Please don’t trouble yourself about replying.
We’re all praying for you here - Mother, Father, everyone. Please don’t try to get back out there until I arrive. The circumstances are dreadful, but at least we’ll finally be able to see each other again. You mean more to me than anything in the world, Matthew. Please, please stay safe for me. I’ll be there soon, I promise.
I’m trying my hardest not to let my tears fall onto the paper as I write this. I must keep myself together - you’d scold me if you saw me now. Forgive me if this letter isn’t very comforting; I only wanted you to know that I’m on my way, and that I love you with all my heart.
All my love, always,
Naomi
