Chapter 12:

The Battle on the Coast

The age of demigods

Theos and Sophia were together at the Temple of Athena, admiring the beautiful sunset view.Suddenly, the entire city began to shake. From up high, near the temple, they saw a massive cloud of dust rise from the coast, followed by a strong gust of wind.Without hesitation, they ran toward the disturbance to see what was happening.
On their way, they saw people lying on the ground and others fleeing in panic. Sophia stopped a soldier and asked what was going on.
— I’m not sure! — the soldier said, breathing heavily. — A huge man suddenly fell from the sky and started attacking that Spartan. It’s like he knew this would happen! Now they’re fighting like monsters!
— Spartan? — Sophia asked.
— That’s Lord Kael — Theos replied firmly.
— What should we do, my lady? — the soldier asked.
— Evacuate the city! Take all civilians to the other side immediately. If necessary, leave the city entirely and go as far as possible. Inform the general! — Sophia ordered.
The soldier ran off to deliver the message, while Theos and Sophia continued toward the battlefield. When they arrived, they saw Kael and the mysterious man fighting. Both stood frozen in awe.The clash was insane — a blur of strikes too fast for the eye to follow.Sophia could barely track their movements, and each blow shattered the ground around them. They darted back and forth, relentless, until a powerful collision forced them apart.
— Hahaha… I’m truly surprised — the Titan said with a grin. — You’re strong. Are you sure you’re not a god?
— I know exactly who I am — Kael replied coldly. — I’m surprised to see a Titan still alive… but honestly, I’m a little disappointed.
— Oh? And why is that?
— I thought you’d be stronger than this. If that’s all you’ve got, it’s disappointing.
— You’ll regret those words.
— Maybe. I’ve regretted many things already. One more won’t make a difference.
The Titan began to channel his energy, his aura rising violently. Kael immediately sensed something — a kind of power he had never felt before. The air grew heavy, the ground trembling under the immense pressure Menoetius released.
Then, the Titan roared:
— Arkhé… Orgí Thryptí!
A technique where Menoetius channels his rage and hatred into a flurry of destructive blows. Each strike left deep cuts and tore through the earth around him.
Kael focused his Aether into his sword and activated his Essence of Ares once again, narrowly dodging the barrage. He managed to evade most attacks, but the sheer speed overwhelmed him — a few hits landed, leaving deep wounds.Blood dripped from his arm, yet he remained standing.
— Lord Kael! — Theos shouted from a distance, horrified at the sight of Kael’s injuries.
Kael turned his head and scowled.— What are you doing here, you fool?! — he shouted. — You should’ve left already! Can’t you see how dangerous this is?!
The Titan took advantage of the distraction and dashed toward Theos and Sophia.Kael noticed and, despite his wounds, managed to intercept the attack — but took even more damage in the process. He countered with a powerful strike that sent the Titan flying back.
— Get out of here! — Kael barked. — If you stay, you’ll just get in the way. I’ll handle this alone!
— Let’s go, Theos! — said Sophia.
— But—
— Theos, we’ll only get in his way. Neither of us is ready for a fight like this — especially you.The city’s already been mostly evacuated. Let’s go!
— Fine… Finish him, Lord Kael!
Theos and Sophia ran off, and Sophia couldn’t help but admire Kael’s strength as she glanced back.
Kael took a deep breath. His wounds were already starting to close — the resilience of a demigod. He rushed at the Titan once again, and another furious exchange of blows erupted. After one last collision, both warriors stepped back, breathing heavily.
— You’re truly impressive — Menoetius admitted. — But it doesn’t matter. We will destroy this cursed city, wipe out that little goddess, and finally bring down Zeus.
— “We”? — Kael repeated, narrowing his eyes.
Menoetius smirked. Behind him, something began to rise from the sea — a colossal figure covered in water, shaped like a woman with massive tentacles.
— We, the Titans who were never sealed — Menoetius declared proudly. — They thought we were dead, but we were only waiting for our moment. And now… our revenge has come. We’ll start right here.Isn’t that right… sister?
Kael watched in disbelief as the massive aquatic figure took form. Now, he wasn’t facing just one Titan — but two.And the battle had only just begun.
