Theos and Sophia were running through the city, helping people evacuate along the way. When they reached the northern district, where the civilians were being escorted out, Theos suddenly stopped.Sophia looked at him, confused.
“Sophia… go with them. I’m going back to help Master Kael,” said Theos.
“Help? How do you plan to help him, Theos? You heard what he said—he told us to leave everything to him!”
“I know, but… you don’t have to come. I’ll go alone.”
“Damn it, Theos… Fine! I’m not letting you go alone. Take this.”
Sophia handed Theos an Athenian sword.
“Do you even know how to use a sword?” she asked.
“I trained with Master Kael, of course I do. It’s not exactly my specialty, though.”
“Good. Let’s go!”
The two sprinted toward the coastline, where Kael was fighting. The entrance to the city, near the Athenian fleet, was completely destroyed due to the battle between Kael and the two Titans.
When they arrived, they saw Kael on his knees, unable to move. One of Ceto’s massive tentacles was about to strike him. They rushed forward, arriving just in time to slash the tentacle in half.
“Don’t you dare… touch Master Kaeell!!” shouted Theos, furious.
“Theos? What are you doing here?” Kael asked.
“Master Kael, are you alright?” Theos asked, worried.
“I’m fine… for now. But you two shouldn’t be here. It’s dangerous.”
“We came to help you fight,” Theos replied.
“Help? You’re a stubborn kid…”
“That’s true,” Sophia teased.
Kael sighed. “I see there’s no point arguing. Fine, you two handle the octopus woman over there. She’s weaker than the brute.”
“Who are you calling weak?!” Ceto growled.
“You, obviously. If it weren’t for him, I’d have killed you ten times already. And that last attack—did you really think that would kill me? You’re even dumber than Theos here,” Kael shot back.
Ceto’s rage flared even higher.
“Your arrogance… reminds me of her… that one… I hope she’s dead already.”
“Are you talking about the greatest of us all?” asked Menoetius.
“Yes. Just thinking about her pisses me off.”
“I agree. Sadly, no one could match her—not even Cronos or Prometheus.”
Kael, Sophia, and Theos had no idea who the two Titans were talking about.
“Sorry to interrupt your family drama,” Kael said dryly, “but I’d like to finish this quickly. The longer we drag this out, the more of the city gets destroyed. And I don’t feel like rebuilding everything later.”
“If this were near the Titans’ realm, where we’re stronger, you’d already be dead,” Ceto hissed.
“I doubt that,” Kael replied, cracking his neck. “Alright, you two deal with her. Watch out for her tentacles. Even though she’s weak, she’s still dangerous. And… Sophia, right? Keep an eye on Theos for me until I get back.Oh, and one more thing—this isn’t her real body. Her true form is inside that mass of water. You’ll have to force her out or cut through it until the real body is exposed. Good luck.”
Kael and Menoetius clashed again, restarting their brutal battle.Theos and Sophia stood in awe, but Ceto took advantage of their distraction and attacked. They barely managed to dodge in time. Her long-range strikes were incredibly fast, and Sophia was amazed at how easily Theos moved around them—Kael’s training had clearly paid off.
“Theos!” Sophia shouted. “We need a plan! Just dodging won’t get us anywhere. We’ll tire out before she does. And Master Kael doesn’t have much Ether left—his stamina’s what’s keeping him going!”
“Ether? What’s that?” asked Theos.
“Now’s not the time to explain! I’ll tell you later!”
“Alright, then what do we do?”
“Let me think…”
Sophia tried to analyze the situation, but Ceto’s relentless attacks made it impossible to focus. The Titaness suddenly channeled more energy into her body, her power surging. Her attacks became faster, stronger, and eventually hit both of them, slamming them to the ground and leaving them wounded.
“SOPHIA!” shouted Athena from Olympus, watching her daughter struggle.
Ceto prepared to finish them off, but from within the rubble, Sophia rose—surrounded by countless golden swords floating around her.
“Dynamis—Aithérion Lóphos!”
Small golden blades, forged from her own Ether, materialized around her. Each one moved with precision under her mental command, attacking in perfect synchronization.Ceto struck again, but Sophia’s blades intercepted the blow, splitting it apart into shimmering fragments.
From Olympus, Athena could no longer stand by. She turned to descend to her city—but Zeus blocked her way.
“You will stay here,” he ordered. “Let Kael handle it.”
“My daughter is down there, fighting a Titan! My city is in ruins! My people need me more than ever!” Athena snapped. “What will they think if the goddess who always protected them abandons them now?”
“I’m giving you an order, Athena,” Zeus said sternly.
You said Kael could handle it? He's fighting the strongest enemy he's ever faced—and he's already wounded! And don't think I don't know you sent Hercules to kill him. You were disappointed when Hercules failed, weren't you? Because of the life Kael chose to live? Her tone sharpened. "But what you forget is that it was my dear brother who made his mind up. Luckily—or not—he still carries the weight of his greatest loss. Perhaps that's what made him a better man. We are gods, Zeus. Our duty is to protect humans."
