Chapter 4:

Unity Humbles the Wicked Witch! (but it's now angrier than ever?)

STRING: BOND - Aunt's Experiments

Despite the memory of just trying to kill a creature for Ialan’s safety bothering both Marina and Emeru in the back of their heads, there they are, now trying to catch one for the sake of personal interests. Guilty? Absolutely. Do they swear it’s worth it? 100%.

The three hid behind a bush. “I believe Lamrhos are probably good at detecting magic. The last one did not fall for any of the traps I set. The only one that will work as a trap is…probably me.”

“Go for it, Ialan! We’re here to support you!” said Marina. “Tsk,” Ialan replied. He took the seal used on him, “This seal hasn’t lost its magic since I didn’t apply a dispersing spell on it. Should we try it on a Lamrho once caught?” Marina and Emeru examined the paper.

“The last one was a total fail. It was tame when you brought it, right?” Asked the redhead boy.

“Not at all. It tried to attack several times when I grasped the first one. Had I not ran to Sis and made her put it to sleep, I could be dead right now,” explained Ialan.

“Then, can you put it to sleep again, Princess?”

“I left my blueprints in aunt’s home.”

“Still haven't memorized the pattern, huh… wai–– you mean all your flashcards?!”

“Mhm.”

Ialan held the seal, “We boil down to this as our last resort…” they all stare at it intently, “We’re doomed if this doesn’t work. I also can’t use any dispersing spell on the Lamrho once it’s on, it might also dispel the seal. And since aunt’s previous attempts were futile, we have to improvise.”

Emeru’s head hurts from trying to decide. “For the teleportation potion…” and groans. He proposes a shaky idea, “Let’s wrap it in mud!” using his special ability in utilizing soil.

“Here’s the plan. Ialan will lure a Lamrho. He’ll put on a temporary dispersing spell on it so it wouldn’t cause harm. Marina from a distance will glide the seal through the wind and blow it against an eye, and I, also from a distance, will turn the soil around Ialan and the Lamrho into mud and envelop it in a mud ball, then harden it! That way, the seal will stay on and the Lamrho won’t be able to move.”

“Oh! That’s good thinking, Don!” Applaud Marina, “I guess the next problem is how to safely transport it back to the house without cracking the fragile mud, and doing it quick enough it doesn’t suffocate”, “Urk! …I-I’ll make the mud extra thick. Operation, commence!”

20 minutes later, Emeru just finished completely drying the mud. “Now roll!!!” They rolled the boulder gently but hurriedly, before the creature dies. Back at aunt's house, Ialan hastily opened the door, Marina and Emeru shoved the ball inside, and they all slammed it close. Through a small opening in a window, Marina shouted, “AUNT, YOUR LAMRHO’S HEREEEE!! You better give us the formula for the spell (and hand back my flashcards) or it’ll die, Y’KNOWWWW!!!” Emeru butted in, “It’s covered in my mud! I’m not making it easy to crack unless we get what we waaant!”

“YOU BRATS!!” aunt with a baseball bat and the formula (and flashcards) came running to her living room that's half rolled over by a boulder. Out ofinitial shock then anger, she threw a porcelain decoration to her window. The two were alerted, then ducked! The glass broke then came flying next through the new hole were the papers they asked for. “Sweet! Thanks, Aunt!” the two said in unison.

“Hey, DON EMERU! Don’t you dare leave this be to die!!!” aunt’s readying to smash the mud off. “Just splash it with some water! It’ll soften in an instant.” Aunt’s temper rose after realizing she was tricked, “Why, you son of a—!!”

Off the three ran, “Hurry, before the mad wicked witch kills us~!” having fun.
