Obito: (I have three people I trust, a family, and no friends. The thing is... I talk to people but I don't like to "have" friends... at least not anymore.)

(25th March, 2023)

{In a pastry shop at 7:40pm on a friday evening somewhere in Shibuya}

{Customers and clerks exchanging thanks}(Thank you very much, thank you, come again)

Clerk: Thank you for shopping with us gloomlord Senpai(giggles)

Boy: (sighs)I told you to stop calling me that Naori.

Naori: The way you act is the way you're interacted with(cashier dings). Also, didn't I tell you that you can't be informal with me at work, Obito kun?

Obito:(looks blankly) you said something though now that I think about it..

Naori:(scoffs) "now that I think about it" damn idiot boy. So Uh.. listen

Obito: What's up?

Naori: There's something I'd like to ask you, can you wait up a bit till I get of in twenty minutes??

Obito:(puzzled) Umm... It's no problem I guess(Picks his order) I'll be around the back(he leaves the store while Naori smiles a bit under her breath)

{25 mins later: At the dark corner, back of the shop, Obito is waiting by his motorcycle while seemingly smoking some weed}

Obito:(exhales) Apparently, twenty minutes isn't twenty minutes for her(tosses the filter away and cleans up while waiting)

{A door opens in a distance while he hears footsteps coming his way}

Naori:(eerily) did I keep you waiting, huh gloomlord Senpai?

Obito:(shocked) Gah!! (Exhales) Come on, consider my heart with your jump scares. 

Naori: (giggles) haha, sorry, sorry. I didn't know you were so easy to scare though, you always act like a tough guy, haha Tough Gloomlord Senpai.

Obito: Well anyway, I waited this long and I don't like being open at night... What was it that you wanted to ask me?

Naori: You can't even let a build up flow? Boring Senpai.

Obito: Is it really that important finding a reason to try making situations easier?(Looks at her, sees her head down)

Naori: (softly) it kinda is... It is for me. I didn't want to go alone and all my girlfriends had a partner or boyfriend to invite to this event. I...

Obito: (realises she wanted to invite him) (sighs) I didn't realise how important this was to you, I'm sorry I acted that way.... By the way, who were you gonna invite along with you for it?

Naori: (shocked/disappointed: You're not the best at thinking right?) well, there's only one Obito kun I would love to bring along with me.

Obito: I know.

Naori: Then why did you make me say it?

Obito: Weren't you the one who wanted to invite me? Anyway, I'd like to accompany you (at least it keeps me busy for a bit outside my room.)

Naori: (excited/flustered) d-d-don't take it so seriously though, I only invited you because you are a Gloomlord. (Smiles to herself) You also deserve some happiness in your life Senpai.

Obito:(gazes) oh, hmm(stares blankly: happiness, what does that mean again?)

Well anyway, hop on, lemme give you a ride home.

{Naori puts on her helmet and climbs on the bike seat, clinging tightly to Obito. Obito starts the bike}

Obito: (Confused,flustered)Hold on okay?

Naori: (smiles: like I would ever let you go)

(He moves down the road in the night sky, Naori enjoys the ride and view while resting on his back comfortably, they zoom out of the scene and slowly appear to Naori's hostel, he stops his bike, the have a quick chat, she hugs him and he hugs her back. She moves off quickly to her dorm, Obito drives off to his dorm).

(Scene fades).

{It's a Saturday morning, Obito is just waking up, but rather to a more annoying surprise}

Obito: (stretches/exhales) another twenty four hours, better get start....(hears light snoring/gets up)What is....

(The guy yawns and stretches, opens his eyes.)

Boy: Oh, Obito...(stretches) morning my brother!(smiles heartily)

Obito: (confused) how did you get in Baji, I thought I locked the door?!... Damn my security is wearing thin, I-

Baji: Nothing is wearing thin bro, I just had an extra key(laughs), seeing you confused like back then still always gets me(laughs heartily)

Obito: (sighs) bro come on, I get the fact that we were roommates until some months ago but come on, what happened to your rule on privacy?

Baji: Privacy policy applies to the guys and girls who actually get some action in their room, not a loner Gloomlord like Okazaki kun here haha(smiles).

Obito: (hisses) you and your mean taunts.

Baji: By the way bro, what are you actually gonna do about it?

Obito: About what?

Baji: You wanna play the dumb card? I mean about that girl you said you feel a bit comfortable around.... Umm.... Naoko right?

Obito: (puzzled)Naori? 

Baji: That's her name right? Then yeah. As your brother in Christ, I thought you'd fill me in on the details. (Sneaks up to him) Or are there no tasty juices hehe

Obito: Baji!!

Baji: (laughs) well bro, to be real, you should try doing some work with emotions.(Softly) We that are involved know what you went through during middle and high school years bro, we understand. But you also need to make a change-

Obito: I don't need to do anything, when the time comes, it'll come.

Baji: (sighs)The time comes everyday but you don't utilize it correctly so I can get why it looks distant for you, the best I can do for you is egg you on and back you up. I can't choose a girlfriend for you to date. 

Obito: I still just don't feel I can trust any girl enough yet even when I spend time with them(inhales/exhales) but I'll take your word for it, I don't intend to back down though, also, she invited me to a party this week, I wanted to cancel but I guess I'll use it to bond.

Baji: Go for it bro, if you feel uncomfortable, you could always leave but don't lie to her about making an entrance.(he opens the door)

Obito: Oii Baji, drop the extra key(taps the table), if you're in again when I'm not around, I'm calling the cops.

Baji: (laughs) haha, of course. Yunno... In the end of it all, I believe if you actually tried again, you might just end up being the happiest bro.(He leaves/door closes)

Obito: Hmm... I should get a dog though...

{At 2:30pm Obito is returning from the store, he parks his bike and is ready to head to his room}.

Obito: (Sighs heavily) finally home, now I don't have to go out again, hah...(Phone rings) Hmm...(He checks to see an unknown number/mutters: Who is this and why do they have my number?) Hello??

Dialer: Yo Obito, took you long enough though.

Obito: Iori?

Iori: Oh good, you still remember my voice.

Obito: Yeah yeah, though it's been a while we spoke, how've you been and what's up?

Iori: Aww(teases) making it look like he's a nice brother, haha.

Obito: (Sternly) so sis, what's up with the call? I can smell you need something from me.

Iori: (teases) Ooh serious boy, hang up on me, I double dare you, hahaha!

Obito: (defeated: damn it, how is she still the only one that can defeat me?/ Sighs.) Anyway, what do you need for real this time?

Iori: I'm switching cities for a course study of mine at school, I'll be transferring to Kyoto for a few months. So I need you to watch over Buster from now on. 

Obito: (shocked) Whoa whoa, too much at once... Transfer, Kyoto and Buster needs to stay here?

Iori: Yup(giggles) I'm sorry it has to be so sudden but please, uncle is overseas with mum and I don't have friends to watch him for me.

Obito: Fine fine, so when do you want to drop him off? Please don't be on a weekday though.

Iori: Oh I'll drop him of tomorrow morning!

Obito: (shocked) Tomo... That's after today, are you serious?!

Iori: 100%, thank you so much, see you tomorrow morning. I have your address by the way so don't worry. Bye Bye(hangs up)

Obito: Bruh....(Confused/heavy sigh) Well... at least I've got a dog...

(Phone buzzes/he checks to see the text)

Obito: Muichiro texted....(Reads) "Hey bro, what's up? As we all know, you're the king of "Ordinary Lifestyle" but yunno, I suggest, at least once or twice, you can move about the neighbourhood instead of your caveman lifestyle(scoffs: caveman?!), try taking a walk maybe this evening, you might feel better.. stay safe bro, I'll come around soon enough."

Obito: (closes the message) Maybe I'll take a walk at 6.

{6:30pm, Obito is reading a novel in his room when he checks the time}

Obito: What is the time by the way(checks his phone) wow... wait, I said I was going to take a walk by six... Ahh, might as well just stroll through the neighbourhood(gets up/changes his outfit/leaves the room)

{Obito strolls through the various shops and buildings close to his hostel}

(Ten minutes later)

Obito: Hmm...(Since I started this stroll, I just feel I should go back, I don't know why Mui kun recommended it to me as some stress reliever) Well I'm outside at least, what could possibly go wrong?(Tummy grumbles loudly/tugs lightly at it) Ohh.... right, I skipped lunch(looks around for a kiosk/sees a little open one on the inner left corner/mutters) Seriously? Just one kiosk in this area filled with shops?

(He goes for an order. After a rather disappointing service, Obito leaves the kiosk with some soda and doughnuts.)

Obito: (mutters disappointingly) the people seemed to be a bit stressed, they didn't even have enough resources at the time to open for service... Not that I can complain though, I don't know what they're going through(he sits on a bench to eat/drink.)

{10 minutes later}

Obito: (surprised) that was really good though...(What magic are they using for these? Anyway, I'm off)

(He stands to leave/the young boy runs towards him, getting his attention)

Boy: Hey mister, thank you for stopping by, Don't forget to come again!(Smiles happily/runs back.)

Obito: (shocked/sighs) Sure, I won't forget to come back. (Maybe it wouldn't be bad if I came here a few times.)

(He waves bye at them, while walking towards his dorm and checking for updates on his phone, meanwhile a girl in a hurry is also walking in his direction...)

Obito: (So... asides Iori coming over tomorrow, it doesn't seem like I have much to do... Oh, damn it, dog food... I forgot, should've gotten it earlier today(sighs/wonders)I guess they should open stores tomorrow right.. or at lea-(bumps into girl/her books drop to the ground), Oh! I'm sorry...

Girl: Ah! It's no problem(shyly) i-i'm sorry too for bumping into you, I got carried away,(sighs heavily) i-i'm so clumsy.

Obito: It's alright, lemme help you with your stuff(Picks up her books/taunts) by the way, aren't all these books too much for a single person?

Girl: (nervous chuckle) Hahaha, My course here makes me read so much books that I barely know which is which most times... but also, from what I heard concerning the exams, the questions don't seem to have a particular order in which they're answered.

Obito: (stares blankly) So.... in other words, you're stuck?

Girl: Yeah(giggles) I guess I am in the mean time, thank you again for helping me pack up.

Obito: No problem, you should hurry back home though(looks around) it's getting dark and it's unsafe outside.

Girl: (agrees) Yeah, I'm not far from my room, see you soon(hurries/stops) by the way, I'm Ichinose Asuka, what is your name?

Obito: (stunned) Oh, um... Okazaki... Obito.

Asuka: (gasps/mutters silently) Obito kun...

Obito: Huh?...

Asuka: No, no, it's nothing(smiles to herself) nice to meet you, Okazaki kun(she runs off to her dorm)

Obito: What was that about?(he walks off to his dorm) Ichinose... Hmm... (Maybe I'm over thinking it, but it sounds familiar a bit.)

{Sunday morning around 10:45 am, Obito is making some scrambled eggs, bacon and toast for breakfast}

Obito: Apparently, it's not just dog food I forgot to buy(looks over at the bread/sighs to himself) I guess I can make it through with four slices of bread...

(Doorbell Rings)

Obito: Hold on a moment! (turns of the gas/cleans up/opens door) Hmm? (Looks left, looks right towards the stairwell/closes door) I thought someone rang.

(Doorbell rings again)

Obito: Ah! (frustrated) I don't like games, whoever you are so please stop(opens door) Ah!? Buster??

(Buster barks)

Obito: Hey boy! (realizes Iori was the one ringing the doorbell) you can come out dumbass Iori, Buster has exposed you.

Iori: (smirks) that was the plan you dummy(hugs Obito leaving him exhausted/Obito exhales).

Obito: So... You hugged me and now I feel so exhausted... Should things really work out like that?

Iori: You my dear bro just don't know when a hug is good for you(taps his cheek/enters his room/Buster follows).

Iori: Ooh toast(picks up a toast and bites it) wait, these are fresh from today right?

Obito: (pissed/complaint) Yes, the four of them were, thank you for killing me even further by reducing my breakfast.

Iori: (Smiling gleefully) You're welcome! I wouldn't be so hooked on your food if it wasn't so good.

(Buster scans the room and sniffs the environment to understand the new environment he lives in).

Iori: So like I said earlier, I've been selected among a few students to work on a project for two months at Kyoto. I'll be going with Takeshi and Kaede tomorrow morning.

Obito: Do you need anything before the trip?(He asks blandly but concerned) you can let me know if I can help.

Iori: (teases) Heh?? Is my little brother worried about me, or maybe my wellbeing? Aww(pokes him) you're so cute with your little antics (Buster barks), I know right?! Buster!(Petting his head)

Obito: (dumbfounded/exhales) speaking of Buster, I didn't have time to get some dog food for him... did you bring enough or any at all for him with you?

Iori: Yeah, I did(Unpacks her bag revealing the dog food) here, at least it should last him about two weeks-

Obito: Iori, how are your classes?

Iori:(shocked) my classes are fine,(smiles) Thank you. How are yours Obito.

Obito: Mine are going good as well(he stares off blankly.)

Iori: Obi kun(looks at him sadly), are you sure everything is okay?

Obito: (looks at her) Everything is fine sis, nothing is entering and nothing is missing.

Iori: (smiles) Obito, I know you're unhappy and I understand that you still want to feel alienated from relationships because of your trauma when we were younger,(sighs) back then, I couldn't help you in school and I felt so bad about it, I really wished I could do something when you were being humiliated and manipulated by girls, I wished I never noticed late how badly you were losing your confidence(clenches her fists) I'm really sorry I wasn't there for you as a sister and supporter.

Obito: It wasn't your fault I was getting myself into bad situations, I honestly don't know why I kept seeing red flags and kept ignoring them while trying to "Please" the crowd(looks ahead) right now, I don't even know what I can call a dating experience because...(Clenches his fists/grits his teeth).

(Iori gently holds his hands, trying to calm him down and smiles, Obito is calm and apologizes).

Iori: (reassuringly) everything will work out fine, I promise. Also , you may hate me for suggesting this, but I feel if you tried easing up on your emotions and became a bit more active, you just might stumble on a special type of flower(she gets up to leave) well lil' bro, I should be going now, I still have to meet up with Kaede Chan. (Opens the door/Obito and Buster follow).

Obito: You said a "special kind of flower" what does that mean?(walking her off to the bus stop).

Iori: (smiles) Honestly, I don't know, maybe it's something to smile about later on, I can't say... After all, you did have a particular girl you loved telling your stories while we were younger, I just believe moments like that can happen to you again(Hugs Obito) bye Obito, I'll text you when I get there tomorrow and I'll see you soon, bye Buster!!

Obito: Bye sis, take care of yourself(returns to his room/buster follows).

(Obito enters his room).

Obito: Dammit... My food got cold.
