🌅 Recovery
The scent of rain drifted through the medical wing of Aethernova Base.
Jade sat silently beside Lira’s bed. Her breathing was steady now — weak, but alive.
The medics had managed to stabilize her after he unleashed the Equilibrium Form, though they admitted her survival was a miracle in itself.
She stirred faintly, her voice fragile.
“You’re… still here.”
He smiled softly.
“Not going anywhere.”
She reached weakly for his hand.
“You… you didn’t lose yourself.”
He looked away.
“Maybe. But something inside me broke that night.”
She gave a faint laugh.
“You’ve always been broken. That’s why I liked you.”
The room fell quiet, only the hum of distant machines and the faint glow of her healing aura between them.
🌫️ The Call of the Past
That night, Jade dreamed again.
He saw them — two boys, running across a field of white ash.
His younger self… and his childhood friend, Eren.
Eren’s laughter echoed across the burnt horizon.
“You said we’d rebuild it, remember? You said you’d never stop trying.”
Jade’s dream shifted — fire, screams, and Eren reaching for him through the flames.
“Jade… run!”
Then the memory burned away.
The same place — that field of ruin — the place where Eren died trying to save him.
Jade woke, drenched in sweat, and realized something.
The same energy that had surrounded Reizan’s final attack… it was the same energy from that day.
The Null signature.
He whispered:
“Reizan… you were there.”
And in the darkness of his room, a voice answered — distant, echoing through his mind.
“Come find me, Valor. Where it all began.”
🌌 The Return to the Ash Fields
The next dawn, Jade stood before the transport gates.
Lira approached him, still bandaged, still weak.
“You’re going, aren’t you?”
He nodded.
“I have to finish this. For Kael… for everyone.”
She looked at him for a long moment, eyes shimmering.
“Then come back alive. You still owe me another sunrise.”
He smiled faintly.
“I will.”
He vanished through the portal — emerging into the wasteland known as The Ash Fields of Kaelvar.
Everything was quiet.
The same burnt earth.
The same crumbling ruins.
The wind carried whispers of his past.
And there — standing amid the smoke — was Reizan.
No tricks. No army.
Just the two of them.
⚔️ Final Confrontation – The Demon and the Balance
Reizan stood shirtless, his scars glowing with infernal sigils. His aura flickered like dying flame.
“Fitting, isn’t it?” he said. “That we end it where your innocence burned away.”
Jade drew his Aether blades, now pulsing with pure equilibrium light.
“You were there that day, weren’t you? The Null energy — it was you.”
Reizan smiled faintly.
“It wasn’t me who killed him. It was you, trying to save him. You unleashed your first surge — the same power you now wield. You just couldn’t control it.”
The words hit like a dagger.
Jade’s grip trembled.
“Liar!”
“Face it,” Reizan sneered. “You’ve been running from your own power ever since. The boy who killed his best friend… now pretends to be a hero.”
Jade’s aura flared — the ground cracking beneath him.
“Maybe I did… but I’ll make sure it wasn’t in vain.”
Lightning split the sky.
The final battle began.
🔥 The Battle of the Ash Fields
Every strike was a clash of worlds.
Reizan’s infernal fire devoured the air, bending the landscape into molten glass.
Jade’s equilibrium form countered — each elemental wave flowing in harmony, deflecting the inferno into radiant storms.
The two collided midair, their impacts rippling across dimensions.
Reizan roared, summoning black wings of voidfire.
“You’ve grown strong, Jade — but strength means nothing without purpose!”
He launched his claws forward — tearing through Jade’s shoulder. Blood burst, but Jade didn’t fall.
He countered with a vortex of wind and flame — striking Reizan’s chest, sending him flying.
But the demon laughed.
“Still holding back?”
Jade’s eyes glowed gold-white.
“Not anymore.”
He crossed his blades, merging them into a sphere of radiant energy.
The elements spiraled — light, dark, earth, storm, flame — forming the Aether Core.
Reizan charged, and the world exploded.
⚖️ The End of the Inverse Demon
The blast carved a crater miles wide.
Silence fell, broken only by the rain that began to fall — the same rain that had fallen the night Kael died.
Reizan lay on his knees, body flickering, the flames within him dimming.
“So this is… balance…” he muttered, almost peacefully.
Jade stood over him, breathing hard, his aura fading.
“It’s over, Reizan.”
Reizan smiled faintly, blood dripping from his lips.
“You’ve found peace. Maybe now… I can too.”
His body dissolved into sparks of red light, scattering into the storm.
Jade looked up — and saw the first sunrise breaking through the ash clouds.
He knelt, pressing his hand into the earth where Kael once fell.
“It’s done, old friend. The fire’s out.”
The wind whispered through the burned field — and for the first time, it sounded like laughter.
🌄 Epilogue – “The Sunrise He Promised”
Weeks later, Jade returned to Aethernova.
The reconstruction had begun.
He found Lira on the balcony, watching the dawn.
“You kept your promise,” she said softly.
He smiled, standing beside her.
“Guess I did.”
The sun rose slowly, painting the world in gold.
Lira leaned her head against his shoulder.
“So what now?”
“Now?” Jade said, eyes on the horizon. “Now we rebuild — and prepare for what’s next.”
Because somewhere, beyond even the Inverse…
something far older was stirring.
And Lodius Novak — the one who saw all — watched in silence.
